Staff were second to none, really helpful and friendly - even offering moped rides so I could see more of the island. The rooms are big and clean, it's a small place with only 6 rooms which means the pool/breakfast area is always calm and quiet.

I wouldn't call this beachfront, it has a lovely sea view and is only roughly 5 mins walk down to a little beach. The steps and entrance into the place is very difficult to access especially with lots of luggage. If you are a chronic over packer like me, or you have mobility issues this is something to bear in mind. The island often experiences power cuts, so a few times the room was left in the dark without air con. Knowing this happens often, it would be a good idea for them to have a torch or something in the room, so you're not wandering round in the dark at night.

Everything! It's a slice of paradise that I didn't want to leave. Claudine and co were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. The rooms are spacious, super clean and the huge beds are comfy with lovely bedding and the best views of tamarind bay from the balconies. The pool is fabulous. It was amazing to come back to the peacefulness of the pool in the afternoon after the beach. It was a 5 minute walk to Tamarind Bay and 15 mins to either Mushroom Bay or Jungutbatu via the boardwalk. The hill back to the property is steep but short and we felt perfectly safe walking back in the dark - a torch is useful for parts of the walk. Otherwise its easy to grab a taxi. The breakfasts were superb and so generous. Homemade banana pancake, toast, yoghurt, fruit, a homemade cake or biscuit, juice and tea/coffee/chocolate.

What a lovely peaceful hideaway with the most amazing views overlooking the sea. Claudine and her lovely staff were amazing hosts and made us feel so welcome. The daily complimentary breakfast was very delicious, especially the banana pancakes and fresh juice. Claudine also organised a snorkelling trip with a lovely local guide to see the manta rays, turtles and various other sea life, which was one of our fav moments of our whole trip to Bali, such an incredible experience. We absolutely loved our stay, and would highly recommend staying here if visiting the island

Being in such a peaceful location, La Gautch is quite remote and the road leading to it is not in the best state. This was not a problem for us as we walked or used pick-up/drop-off services but just something to bear in mind.

Claudine was amazing. Nothing was too much trouble, from giving you restaurant recommendations, organising taxis and activities. The breakfast was also a lovely start to the morning and I was able to grab something early even before going diving. Additionally the views from the room and pool can’t be beat! Will be coming back

The location was handy for me because of its proximity to do my diving. But if you can’t ride a scooter you are reliant on taxi tuk tuks which are more expensive. Some restaurants however do have free pick up and drop off; it’s a great quiet location great for relaxing. It’s just something to be aware of as it’s not overly walkable to other areas.

Claudine, her husband and staff are wonderfull to deal with and happy to help with anything you may require. This offers a stunning sunset view from the pool and villas over the bay. We tried to extend our stay but sadly no villas were available given there are only 6 it’s makes the property very peaceful. Would definitely book here again.

Only a couple minor things the pillows are very high/hard, our a/c you had to turn on at the unit and couldn’t adjust any temperature or fan speed via the remote. Our shower would only have hot water for 1-2 minutes.

The 5 or 6 bungalows overlooking the pool and the (not too distant ocean) are stunning, the best I stayed in, in Bali. They are well equipped, the balconies are large and spacious, and the bungalows are well separated from each other. The breakfasts are amazing; fresh, tasty and filling! The infinity pool is very welcoming if you want a day off from the beach, and the sun loungers are comfortable and adjustable. Each bungalow is supplied with two beach towels (as well as normal bath towels). All in all, La Gautch Bungalows are highly recommended!

The only two (related) slight downsides are the fact that they don't serve food on an evening (food during the day nasi goreng etc was excellent) and secondly, there are not many restaurants around within walking distance. If you have a scooter, no problem.

- amazing view from the room - great bathroom and shower with open roof, it was amazing - strong air con, staff left it on for us so it was so nice to coming in to the cool room - the owner was so helpful, booked boats and transfer for us - staff was lovely and helped us when wanting to get rid of unexpected guests 🦎 - very tidy and clean - we recommend renting a scooter from the bungalow, u can hire for a full day or half day for small charge - it was the most quiet and relaxing place we have been in so far 😍

It was a fabulous place to stay. Our host Fabian had no staff whilst we were there, but I must say nothing was too hard for him. He was a gracious host and looked after us beautifully. It was so peaceful and tranquil. Great pool with an amazing view over the island. Our bungalow was cozy with a balcony and outside shower. Anything we needed Fabian got for us. He made a great breakfast every morning and was happy to get on his scooter to go get a restaurant meal for us. It was a perfect short break. We are a couple in our mid 60's. We booked Rocky fast boat from Sanur. There service was very good.

The steps down to the villa are a bit tricky and if you have mobility issue's like me it was a bit of a challenge. But that was ok as I only went but up once. I was more than happy to stay put.

This was a very lucky find, was very relaxing, clean, peaceful, intimate, and a personalised retreat, Fabian has created this by keeping it small with what I think are about maybe 8 or 10 small king sized stand alone villa’s . Everyone was polite and respectful. Fabian provided lots of local knowledge on how to explore the island, and the breakfasts were for me perfect. French in style fresh simple and home made. Even the yoghurt. I loved the out door bathroom the view from the front veranda ( watching the sunset) and the small beach down the hill that was never busy, also at the beach was a lovely business providing beauty treatments including a wonderful alo Vera massage for the excess sun exposed. I look forward to returning here on my next travels to Nusa lombogan.

For me there is nothing to not like here.

Location was great, a 10-20 minute walk from the beaches and restaurant areas. However, the route may not be suitable for those with mobility issues or poor fitness, as there are several steep hills and the terrain is off road. The pool area is nice to sit around, and beach towels are provided. The view is lovely, too. The bungalow was ideal for a couple or solo traveler. The bed is comfortable and there is a small wardrobe and a fridge to keep your water in. The bathroom is outdoors, which is surprisingly private and I didn't find any bugs or flies. It's fairly modern and clean, as well. The property was clean by Bali standards, and the bed is made every morning whilst you're at breakfast. Breakfast was included, and the banana pancakes were amazing. Wonderful laundry service! The clothes were returned clean, ironed, and folded. Fabien, the owner, was friendly and helpful. He arranged for a private snorkeling tour, which was incredible. The other staff were friendly and accommodating. Overall, this was a lovely stay.

The pillows are massive and a bit lumpy, which weren't too comfortable for smaller sized guests. Bring earplugs, or sleeping tablets, as the noise from the birds and animals is incredibly loud! A kettle would've been nice addition to the room as well.
