No property in Ubud has a better view than The Royal Pita Maha, nor a better river section of Ayung. Como, Four Seasons, Ritz, Capella, Alila, Maya, none can compare.

- F&B. It is not bad, but truly not a 5-star standard. More like a 4-star. - Linens do smell a little mouldy. - Toiletries. They are truly 3-star quality. Very 90s. Soap, shower gel, shampoo, lotion, etc. - Air conditioner is not sufficient enough. - Hospitality from the staff. Nothing bad, but could be warmer and brighter for such an amazing property.

The view was incredible. The private infinity pool was very enjoyable. A true jungle experience. I love it so much. Our villa was on a hill, but we walked down to the riverside. Additionally, it has a waterfall, a holy pool, and a restaurant by the river. It was an excellent experience. The staff were very attentive and friendly. There is shuttle to go ubud center and it takes 15 mins.

There are gaps in the villa's roof, and large lizards can easily get inside. At first, we were very uncomfortable, but we got used to it. Despite being in the jungle, we didn't have any insect problems other than the lizards. It would have been nicer if there were lights in the pool for swimming at night. The hotel restaurant's dinner prices are three times higher than outside. Instead, we walked 3-5 minutes to eat elsewhere.

We stayed in the villa with private pool for our honeymoon and loved it. It has a wonderful view over the infinity pool. The rooms are clean and well designed. We loved the landscaping of the hotel. It was like a castle. The food was delicious. It was peaceful to join the morning yoga. If I come again, I would like to stay here again. It is a great choice for a honeymoon.

The Royal Pita Maha hotel is fantastic. It is located on a slope and the view from the villa was captivating. The complex has ponds, lots of vegetation and flowers that contribute to complete relaxation. The staff was extremely kind and courteous, always smiling. They answered all our questions comprehensively. All our wishes were fulfilled. We never knew when they cleaned the villa, but whenever we returned to it everything was neatly arranged and there was always a pleasant surprise waiting for us- the bathtub decorated with flowers, beautifully shaped towels on the bed, fresh fruits, etc - everything a person could wish for a truly relaxing holiday. The restaurant offers a variety of extremely delicious food that satisfies different tastes. Special thanks to Dewi Andeni, who was extremely kind - she told us about the history and culture of Bali, which made our stay even more pleasant and memorable. And the SPA- The massages were fantastic - exceeded my expectations. Putri is a great therapist - thank you I highly recommend The Royal Pita Maha for an unforgettable holiday in Bali.

The private pool offered stunning views of the surrounding jungle, and the outdoor living space was perfect for relaxation. From the moment we arrived, we were treated with the utmost care and respect. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect. We were a little reluctant to come over to the hotel after reading the bad reviews about the hotel being run down or needing renovation. Or some people complaining about small animals in their villa. As often the case, these bad reviews are a complete exaggeration! If you're staying in the jungle, of course, there's a high chance that a lizard or a gecko will crawl into your villa... The same goes for renovation: any stone or straw structure will decay sooner and have moss forming on it in extremely warm and humid climates aka the jungle. If you're not comfortable with that- stay by the beach and not Ubud. The hotel manages the property very well, it is clean, they scrub the moss off the stone structures daily, everyone's super friendly, the villa is large and comfy, the private infinity pool is clean and well maintained, the massages were excellent and the views from the lobby/main restaurant are simply stunning. The hotel and the Spa are genuinely beautiful!!! Especially taking into account the low price. There are some derelict parts of the resort by the river that you cannot actually see from the well-maintained/new villas up the hill, but it was interesting to "hike" down there and explore the derelict parts as we felt a bit like Tomb Raider in the jungle:) The receptionist said they were abandoned during Covid, so one can actually see how quickly the jungle takes over in just 2 years...

The restaurant wasn't that great. there was a huge choice, but something was a bit off. Anyways, Ubud has plenty of good restaurants so it wasn't a problem to go out for dinners elsewhere- the taxi to downtown is like 30mins max and literally costs like 5 euros.

Location - close to everything in Ubud yet secluded enough, Views - unbeatable, only property in Ubud directly on the river; other properties are further up on hills/cliffs. At this property, you can reach out and put your hand in the river, it's that close. GREAT air conditioning

Food - seems to be a recurring theme with 4/5 star hotels in Bali. Perhaps on a standalone basis it's good, but if I am eating food in a very unique property on a balcony with jaw dropping views, I expect the quality of the food to match the quality of everything else - especially at these prices ($400 to $500+/night). Menu look and feel is late 2000s. This issue applies to both the breakfast buffet and in-room dining. Ordered a romantic dinner at the villa and the food was a 6/10. Nevertheless, my significant other absolutely loved the surprise. Food gets a 6/10 ; only because they could and SHOULD do much better because they are better! On a standalone basis, the food gets an 7/10. Easy fixes to get Royal Pita Maha to a 10/10 in their F&B experience.
