This property was absolutely beautiful. The rooms were exceptionally clean. The garden where breakfast was hosted was very cute and well kept. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, plenty of fresh baked treats and fresh fruits and juices. The woman that prepared our breakfast was extremely friendly, and gave us plenty of excellent recommendations for things to do in the area. Erminia was an exceptional host, she was very responsive to all of our messages and requests, and made us feel very welcome. The property was in a great location, close to many excellent restaurants in Aci Castello and right by the sea. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing time in the area!

Very nice villa with amazing garden. Our room was with terrace, our friends had a balcony, it was vey nice to sit outside in the evenings. Breakfast in the garden was top! Nice location, 8 km from Catania but easy to reach by car. Very close to sea side. Very helpful recommendations from the host (we forgot to ask her name) also very tasty cakes from her for the breakfast. Overall it was very enjoyable and it is highly recommended.

No cheese or eggs for breakfast. Who are used to eat such things should be ready for Italian type of breakfast. However there are enough sweet stuff as well as croissant and fresh fruits.

I stayed four nights and enjoyed my time. Room is small but enough. I really like the balcony. People are really friendly and kind. I need to leave earlier than breakfast time. They kindly offer early breakfast.

There is only one bus going to Catania and it is not often. However, the place is close to Aci Castello where visit the castle and find some restaurants.

The garden was amazing, a special beautiful place. We spent our mornings in the garden with a very good cappuccino and cute 3 little cats. Clean rooms, clean towels every 2 days. The owner was kind and helpful everytime. It s near to Aci Castello Castle. Overall 8,5/10.

The wifi connection was poor. The walls are thin and you can hear every little noise. Also, the breakfast was not enough; maybe some salty stuff would be good. Location is good only if u have a car/scooter, otherwise you have to take a taxi which it s pretty expensive (ex 34 € for 5 km or 20 € for 2 km). There are also buses but they come very rarely.

We had a delightful stay at Villa Ortensia, which was our base for exploring Catania, Mount Enta, and the surrounding sites. It was easy to find and it's in a gated community right across from the beach. The room was clean and very comfortable, but the highlight of our stay was breakfast in the garden each morning. Just lovely!

The garden was lovely to sit in for beakfast. Great that Erminia made their own cakes for breakfast too. Fantastic that products from the family farm were also used and available to purchase if wanted. We were a 15 to 20 minute easy walk from the town center meaning we were quiet at night. The decor was nice as was the bathroom. Private parking at the foot of the room terrace was ideal. We were lucky to have a ground floor as not all rooms had such a large outdoors area. Erminia and her helper (sorry, forgotten name) were helpful regarding our trip to Etna. Etna could be seen 'smoking away' from the room terrace.

A lack of tea / coffee making facilities and the wall mounted fridge was extremely small. We couldn't even get our ismall slim ce packs in it. Big enough for a couple of small bottles of water. Overall the room was a little tight on space.

Quiet location and great location for swimming at the local lidos (private swimming areas). Great balcony and shared kitchen was a plus. Short walk to downtown which has the castle, restaurants and more. Adequate breakfast included. Definitely recommend.

Everything was good

Where to start! Everything about Villa Ortensia was exceptional, from the location, right on the beach front and walking distance to the beautiful Aci Castello for an evening out; the ambient, very relaxing and welcoming; the rooms, nicely decorated and modern, with all the necessary appliances and fabulous A/C; the garden, where you can chill at the end of the day; the parking, in a gated private parking bay right outside the hotel entrance; the breakfast, which offers both sweet and savoury options, with fresh fruit, daily home made cakes and organic locally sourced jams and conserves (imagine spreading soft figs, lemon or orange jams on soft sliced white bread); the early check in and late check out times (12.30pm and 11am). And above all Erminia, the owner and your host, who could not do more to make our stay exceptional, with her professionalism, kindness and welcoming approach to all guests. Erminia not only gave us lots of information about the local area, but she also very kindly gave us some vouchers for free lunch to be used at the bar at the top of Etna (remember you need the vouchers to be validated by the funivia staff at the bottom of the cable cart before you go up) ; she was also very emphatic about the struggles that we faced this week due to the disruption at Catania airport by allowing us to check out well past the usual check out time in order to accommodate our needs to get to the airport later in the day. In summary, I could not recommend Hotel Ortensia enough. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in Catania, do not hesitate to book Villa Ortensia!

Nothing to dislike

A nice oasis at the end of a busy day of touring. Ensa was molto gentile. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, cereal and fresh croissants etc. Our room was not large but perfectly fine. A quite good restaurant is within easy walking distance.

The location is very good, on the sea side, with a very nice view. The hosts are very nice and ready to support. The breakfast was also good.

The insulation of the rooms is not good. We could hear all noises from the neighboring rooms, from corridor and kitchen. And when this happen at 5 am, is not that pleasant.
