We were on our way from Oslo to Italy, and were looking for a place to stay for the night, preferably close to the highway. It was late mid June, and most hotels turned out to be full or very expensive. Mair am Bach suddenly turned up, and as we both love the mountains we decided to try this place out although it was somewhat of a detour. We did not regret it! Not only was it affordably priced, but it was a beautiful, tranquil place that really helped us charge our batteries for the onwards journey. Spacious, comfortable room, extremely and genuinely friendly, attentive and helpful staff, beautiful grounds, a scrumptious breakfast and spectacular views made this a real unexpected gem along our way. We only wish we had time to stay longer and could've explored the gorgeous surroundings more.

This place was an absolute Gem! From the moment we entered it was like being welcomed home. The hotel is like the most perfect chocolate box picture. The beer was cold and local served in traditional mugs/steins. we were then sat down to a table laden with fresh breads and served a scrumptious four course meal for only €26. Our son is a bit of a fuss pot and doesn’t eat fish, No Problem! He was served with a huge plate of turkey schnitzel and fries. The host Fabian and his gorgeous mum weee genial throughout our stay and all the other staff were warm and welcoming too.

That I couldn’t stay and enjoy the free cable car and water park tickets we were offered. The grounds are made to explore and enjoy for all ages and I was gutted that we had to push on to catch our pre booked ferry. I don’t like heights and thought staying up a mountain would be a challenge, it wasn’t and I’m so glad I did!

The rooms are super clean but outdated and small, I couldn’t hardly open my cabin size suitcase. Decent and tidy but really outdated.

The location is panoramic, the balcony overlooks all the valley. The garden is large, with several "chaise long" for taking the sun while looking at the view! Breakfast various and abundant, with international *and* local food. Also, we were offered a "Brixen Card" that allows some free entrances to museums and other places in the area. The room was clean and comfortable, we'd definitely come back.

Great dinner, was huge and nourishing. Comfortable warm room with radiators, cosy atmosphere. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room came with a card that gives free use of public transport and the local cablecar up Mount Plose.

Dinner menu was a bit confusing and didn't show prices. This was a minor thing though.

View was great. Room wasn't too big but clean and the beds were comfortable. Breakfast was good. I would have added a bit more cakes and sweet options but the cold cuts and the cheeses were very good. Bread seemed a bit old though.

The road to the hotel was straight up a mountain road out of Bressanone. It became very narrow near the hotel and tricky to negotiate when cars came from the opposite direction.

The location was excellent, exactly what we were looking for. Quiet, peaceful, countryside. The service staff were very friendly, attentive and cheerful. Our favourite was the lasagna to start, Milanese cutlet with potatoes and a dessert was warm local berries, mixed with vanilla ice cream. The breakfast was very satisfying with a large array of choices and coffee and hot milk were plentiful. What was really great for us was the optional supper menu which was authentic from the area and they were flexible in price if you chose not to take a main. They also had various local wines to choose from.

The room was clean and comfortable with a spectacular view. Good breakfast and we especially enjoyed the dinner in the hotel restaurant -it was super delicious. Parking is free and there is enough space for it

A lot of things were perfect. We came just before 8pm but despite the fact there were only a few peple in the hotel we could order the dinner which was delicious and fresh. Morover, you can choose between different kinds of beer and non-alcohol beverages, like in a reastuarant. Breakfast was veried and tasty. Additional advantage ware home-made crossaints served to the table - were hot and delicious ! Wi-fi - fast. The lady in reception was so kind and helpful. The surroundings of the hotel is amazing. You can seat and admire. A lot of attractions nearby.

One main problem occured : we spent only one night ! The hotel is worth staying there at least a week.
