The property is absolutely fairy tale: incredibly beautiful location with everything you could possibly need : superb views everywhere, many pools, golf course, tennis court, amazing restaurants, great spa, many quiet beautiful streets in the compound to walk on. Despite the dimensions of the resort, the accommodation is so cozy and the rooms , very big and spacious, are very intimate. We had rooms in one of the villas, with big beautiful gardens on the groundfloor. The rooms are very nicely furnished, comfortable, very clean; the gardens so pretty with sunbeds. It is very nice to wake up and walk bare feet in the grass of your own garden, feels as it is your own home. The variety of the restaurants is impressive: you have many and there is even Treno Reale that is so unique: a fine dining restaurant in an actual train from 1921. Also, the Aurevo restaurant has a very diversified menu with incredible nice food (exceptional pizza, pasta, seafood, steak etc). Le Marzoline is also super nice in nature. The staff everywhere so friendly, welcoming and polite. People in the resort are very nice. The spa incredibly beautiful. The location is so convenient: less than 30 min from Bologna airport. One of the most beautiful resorts I have ever been to. Everything perfect! Cannot wait to be back here!

They have many pools, some regular hotel pool style and some infinity pools. The latter are undoubtedly beautiful! The spa was great and the room we booked was so spacious! It had a massive garden, shame we didnt use it. Some of the staff were courteous. It was a great stay!

The head staff at the breakfast place refused to boil an apple for my 6 month old son, when i asked to boil a potato - they said it would take an hour. I was SHOCKED to say the least that a staff from property of this stature would not accommodate for an infant when he has such limited options to eat. Also, when you're charging hundreds of euros for a night and then charge 10 euros for an omelette, it doesn't reflect well. So yes the breakfast experience wasn't the best.

Outstanding location and stunning resort. Everything was spotless - the spa and pools were excellent and all the staff at the resort were very helpful.

The menus in the restaurants are very limited and so are the wine lists. Having to access your menu from a smart phone app is simply not in keeping with a relaxed atmosphere. People are on their phones too much and insisting people use them to read the menu is inappropriate and difficult to access all parts of the menus. We had a problem with air conditioning that was not really dealt with as a matter of urgency by the reception staff and again emailing you about the problem is not really appropriate when easier methods are available.

Great property with beautiful greenery all around and a variety of activities and high quality restaurants. Spacious room with very nice views of the surrounding countryside!

Navigating the hotel with a pram was a bit tricky as there are loads of elevators to reach different points / facilities. Step-free access to the pool area could be better indicated, and pool check-in for towels at the spa could be improved by simply leaving towels on loungers. It would be great to have some natural mosquito spray as part of room amenities since there are a lot of insects particularly at dusk.

Excellent stay in the most luxurious hotel, the whole experience was beautiful and we didn’t want it to end. The food was incredible and the room was breathtaking.

The only comment is there could be more explanation of how to book the spa and restaurants and where they are located as it is such a big place we found it hard to know how to get around.

Absolutely spectacular. Second time I went to Varignana as a guest, after visiting it some times making wedding videos. The experience of staying there is phenomenal. The beauty of the place, all the green scenery, the number of gorgeous outdoor pools and the spa being included is incredible. All the structure is very well taken care of, and all the staff super helpful and kind. Breakfast's got infinite options of salty and sweet things and a beautiful view. The room had plenty of space, comfy bed and great shower. I would like to thank again for the gentle treatment during check in, going out of their way to find a room that had a nice view, as it was a special occasion. Definitely going back and highly recommended.

It was absolutely 10/10. Only thing I can imagine someone could argue is that some rooms have different views but are priced the same, hence different value. Also it's 30 min away from city center if you intend to visit it also, easy drive just gotta plan according to traffic. So if you ask first and plan well these won't affect you.

The view is breathtaking, all around. The buildings are uniformely spread out so that you have the impression of space but also intimacy. The swimming pools are world class, especially the more remote ones. The gardens and the plants and greenary are superb, like a botanical exhibition. The food at Grifon is rather good, with excellent dishes.

I suggest giving up the payment of extras at breakfast, such as omlette or centrifuga: seems really cheap. Also, the dinning at Griffon in the tent is unfortunate: when there is the wonderful house with museum level decoration and furniture, sitting under cheap white wrinkled bed sheets like tissue with stadium lighting is not the best idea.

Love it, love it love it Fitz. Time we have stayed here love the pool the restaurant the spa the location is all magnificent.

They have reduced the size of the Jim to half which is a real shame because I don’t think we’ll go back. One of the things we like to do as a couple is exercise together which doesn’t seem worth it anymore at this hotel real shame because we loved it.

Gorgeous location, vises and rooms. We had a connected room for us and the kids which was perfect. The in-house pools are amazing so even if it’s off season it’s plenty to enjoy. The resort has beautiful walks around it, all the food is delicious! The olive oil they make is amazing.

Beds could be more comfortable

obbligation to wear swimming suit in sauna; I would appreciate minimum one extra large linen sheet for use in sauna (just one frotté towel for the whole stay in wellness area is not sufficient)
