Beautiful property in the middle of Toscana, the view is absolutely breathless. Cool Pool area and very nice breakfast hall (cozy cabin style). Room was very comfortable and the bathroom nicely decored. Staff was friendly. Location is great to reach San Gimignano by car (20-25min)

We didn't appreciate that they charged us for towels for the pool (obviously one can not grab the towel from the room for the chlorine water at the pool) I asked the Front desk person for towels for the pool and he gave them to me, without informing that they would be charged later. It came as a surprise later when we checked out. In any other hotel if there is a pool, towels are available for guests, without charge.

We had such an amazing stay at Il Defizio - everything was perfect. The family who run it are some of the nicest, most attentive hotel owners/staff we've met and the hotel is beautiful. The location is great - driveable to many towns and restaurants in the area. The food was also delicious and reasonably priced. We had a lovely lunch and dinner there. Breakfast is also great. Would thoroughly recommend staying and we hope to return!

The accommodation, the food and drinks, and the staff were simply amazing. The surroundings were like a fairytale. This was the best place we’ve ever stayed at. What a find. Location was jaw droppingly stunning, even more so from the pool. The villa was perfect for our use and was a great base to tour round Tuscany. Everyone there was friendly and attentive, even down to recommendations for car parks around Florence and Siena. All in all amazing.

Nestled within a breathtaking landscape, this location is surrounded by stunning views. It's an ideal sanctuary for those seeking tranquility and serenity. Moreover, the hospitality provided by the family who manages this place is exceptional. Their warmth, kindness, and humor instantly made us feel like part of the family. Our stay was truly delightful, and will definitely be going back!

Views and lounge diner room. Kitchen tiny and really not usable. Lounge lovely and light.

The smaller room bed was sooooo hard and uncomfortable and squeaked with each slight movement, one flat pillow each and it sloped downwards towards the head of the bed, so the blood ran to the head. It made my husband ill and he ended up sleeping downstairs on the sofa.

The views from Il Defizio are absolutely stunning and the owners are lovely people. They make you feel happy and on holiday and really have eye for their guests. It was also beautiful to see how the owners (2 sisters and their husbands) worked so well together. The diner they cooked was a 10 out of 10 for us. Great to have diner next to our apartment where the kids slept. The garden in front of our apartment was ideal for playing with the kids and gives a spaceous feeling. We enjoyed our stay!

The interior and facilities of the apartment are quite old / not on level one might expect for this price (e.g. very small kitchen, no dish washer, bad wifi). We also had a lot of annoying insects in our apartment.

A countryside setting about 20 minutes drive outside San Gimignano. We stayed here to attend the Andrea Bocelli concert at Teatro del Silenzio in Lajatico which was 30 minutes drive away. Beautiful building. We had a lovely room overlooking the very large swimming pool and Tuscan countryside beyond. Lovely breakfast. Excellent wifi. Excellent parking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Everything was spotlessly clean. Couldn't fault it.

Beautifull room. Perfect food. Breakfast and lunch too. Even more beautiful pool and a view on the town Voltera from it.

The mess left by the children in and around the pool. And parents' misunderstanding that their children are not in the water park and are not there alone.

The staff goes all the way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Twice a week the serve an optional dinner which was very good. Pool was nice and our appartment was very specious.
