Very beautiful place. You feel like your arrive in a fairytale! The résidence is secured with a gate that closes between 8pm and 8am. A lot of parking place at the residence. Staff is extremely kind and helpful. They speak good English (wish isn't common in Italy) and are willing to explain you how to visit the best places in Matera. Breakfast was delicious, daily fresh pies and choice out of sweet and savory spreads. Not the typical continental breakfast but definitely the best we had on our trip in Italy. The swimming pool is amazing. Perfect temperature, nice view on de main building, and very clean

The bed was comfortabel but we are not fan of the separated matrasses. Also, in some positions I felt the springs of the matrass poking in my back .... Didn't sleep well Even though we got an extended list of different restaurants in the neighborhood, it would have been nice to have dinner at the residence. The city restaurants are only open staring from 7pm and often staff at the restaurant are very harsh towards non-italian tourists. Appreciatint even more the kindness of the staff at Masseria Santa Lucia.

What a hidden gem! When we first drove up to Masseria Santa Lucia, we thought the map had to be wrong—an industrial area seemed like an unlikely setting for a masseria. But as soon as we passed through the gates, we discovered a private oasis. Our room, located just across from reception, opened onto the patio where breakfast was served. It was peaceful and quiet—we couldn't hear a single sound. The pool offered a stunning view of the Matera landscape and was the perfect place to relax. The staff were absolutely wonderful. Andrea, Enzo, and Lucia were warm, attentive, and incredibly helpful throughout our stay, truly making it exceptional. Every restaurant they recommended was fantastic—every single meal was a delight. We loved our stay at Rate Residence Masseria Santa Lucia. While the property is located in an industrial zone of Matera, it is perfectly quiet, and the moment you pass through the gates, you are transported into another world of impressive architecture and thoughtful interior design. The atmosphere is wonderfully private, you truly feel as though you have the place to yourself. The pool is perfect for relaxing, and the breakfast offers a lovely cake selection. The staff are very forthcoming and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Our room was spacious and well soundproofed, and despite visiting in the middle of summer, the insulation kept it perfectly comfortable.

The surroundings aren't the best, as it's sort of an industrial area in the outskirts of town. You definitely need a car if you choose this hotel. 10' drive to Matera center. Our room was right on the parking lot but one side was luckily facing the pool. There was a constant appliance noise in the room. Pool was awesome but only open 10am- 6pm. Breakfast was ok, but the quality of cappuccino and more options of local/ savoury products like nuts/ cheese/ jams can definitely be improved

Huge rooms, we were three and we had two separate (separated by an arch) rooms, each over 30sq.m. Because our rooms were built into the rock, temperature was stable and excellent (perfect, since it was 39' outside). Excellent parking, nice piscina (with bar) and garden. Very quiet. Other rooms have verandas too. Quality fixings and amenities. Friendly staff (although English-challenged). We would go again.

There is not much we didnt like, although: - the jacuzzi at the big room might seem nice to young romantic couples (maybe) but it is completely useless for anyone else. It would be better to have a second bathroom instead! - the bathroom could be double the size, there is huge room available. - breakfast was OK but should have a few more items, e.g. scrambled eggs. - it is not in the old part of Matera (but that was OK for us). - the piscina is open to visitors for a few hours which means it can get a bit crowded on weekends.

Beautiful property and grounds with large comfortable rooms. We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff were friendly and attentive.We walked to the old town easily 45/50 minutes. We also used taxis which are expensive at around €20 for a 10 minute journey. It goes without saying Sassi is stunning, as is the old new town. The new new town which includes the area around the hotel not so much, but this is explained when you book. The free and easy parking was an important choice for us. The pool closes religiously on the 30/09 each year. It looked great.

As there are no restaurants or bars nearby, and the hotel bar advertised it closed at 18:00, the advertised mini bar was thought to be a plus. However the mini bar/fridge only held two bottles of water. There were only plastic cups in the room. I think there should be a better drink offering for those that want it and glasses and a bottle opener.

My husband and I had an incredible stay at Masseria Santa Lucia! The property is huge and absolutely beautiful, with every detail carefully designed. The room was spacious, well-decorated, and incredibly comfortable. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming (they even offered a list of amazing restaurant nearby and in Sassi), making the experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast was perfect, with just the right amount of delicious options to start the day. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in Matera! Bonus: the swimming pool if you’re going during summer 🙌

Beautiful main building of the Masseria and beautiful surrounding grounds. We had a large room in one of the annexes. The staff was helpful, giving us very good information about visiting Matera. Very good breakfast. The entrance to the place is from a commercial street but once you are inside you experience beautiful and surprising views. Very good parking, Few minutes drive to historic area.

There was a noisy party in the evening till midnight...

Masseria is outside the sassi and work well if you have a car. Staff were able to assist us in telling us where to park to access the city of Matera. During summer it can be incredibly hot so being able to relax by the pool and then heading up to the city for the 9pm sunset and dinner proved to be a wonderful strategy.

We stayed in the Frantoio Deluxe Suite and the air conditioning was far from adequate. The location of the system is at the front door and fails to cool the room. The average temperature we experienced in the room was 25 degrees.

We had a wonderful stay here in Residence Masseria Sta. Lucia while in Matera. They have Free, secure and safe parking. Friendly staff and welcoming. Andrea always making sure our room is clean and always willing to assist. Not far from Sassi di Matera.

We like that the rooms are big and clean, we had a nice walk inside the area with a beautiful view at the top garden.They have a good selection of breakfast. We had a wonderful time here.
