From the moment I stepped into the house, I was in awe. The view? breathing It looked like something out of a postcard—crystal-clear, peaceful, and simply perfect. I could've spent hours just staring out the window. And the breakfast? Let me tell you—I've traveled all over Italy, but this was handfivebreakfast I've But the real highlight? The host. Incredibly kind, thoughtful, and truly exceptional. They made me feel not like a guest, but like family. Fabulous views, quiet, clean and comfortable although very rural location. We were here at the very end of the season so our room was pretty sparsely provided for when we arrive but Matteo is wonderful and will provide whatever you need when you ask.

The drive up is a little hairy but after a couple of trips up and back it was fine. Google says it is a mostly flat walk into town but it is very steep and walking back up the hill would be tough. Seating could be more comfortable there is only a wooden table and benches inside but you really want to be outside enjoying the beauty anyway!

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and could have spent much longer. The host was very frendly and he prepared/covered us a delicious brekfast every morning. We spent a lot of time in the evenings in the hotel yard, looking down at the valley and the village of Mattenata. The area was wonderfully peachful, roosters crowed and the cowbells chirped in the distance. And the hotel`s cats and dogs were there own entertaining gang. Lots of greetings and hugs for Emily the kitten, which I would love to take in my suitcase and take home 😊

Everything was great! The host was really understanding about my lateness and still welcomed me with a smile and two nice dogs! The room was really big, like a small apartment, with an amazing balcony with a view on the nearby city of Mattinata. It was amazing sitting in the silence and quiet of the night - pretty relaxing! The bed was great and really really comfortable! I wish I could have stayed longer! the host even bought plant milk and muesli to accommodate for my dietary requirements! Really really thoughtful and helpful. 5 Stars and more!

It was all great!

We spent fantastic two weeks at La Scapola and did not want to leave. We came to explore the Gargano orchids, the towns and the beautiful nature. The accommodation was really great. A spectacular view from the terrace, plenty of space for the two of us, safe car parking, lots of storing space, good wifi connection. Each morning Matteo prepared a lovely and tasteful breakfast from local products (many of his own) of bio quality, which we could eat under an old carob tree. Matteo is a very careful and host ready to help with everything. We also loved the companion of two dogs and several cats, who were very friendly especially at breakfast time. The Bed and Breakfast is located up on a steep hill, it takes some 5 min by car to get to the centre of Mattinata to eat in some of its restaurants or to do some shopping. It is a great starting point for making trips to the surroundings. Gargano is a beautiful part of Italy and it is definitely worth to visit. We only regreted the two weeks were over so quickly. Hope to come back again in the future.

Everything was absolutely OK.

A quiet island in a marvellous natural surrounding, the landscape and the quietness of the place are really special, the accodomation is absolutely comfortable and spatious, we had a whole apartment for us with a private terrace overlooking the hills and the sea. Absolutely faboulous. The host is extremely gentle and the breakfast is very generous and full with local products

Nice quiet position well above town. Enjoyed breakfast in the shady garden. there was proper homemade marmalade etc and an omelette which was a nice surprise. friendly hosts who spoke good English. modern aircon/heater that worked well as weather was a bit cold in the evening. plenty of hot water in the shower.

Stunning location, with beautiful view of the landscape from the terrace. It felt like being in a film from the golden age of Hollywood! Host very helpful and friendly. Delicious and hearty breakfast, with local home-made products. We also loved the friendly dogs that came to say hello :) Overall, beautiful experience

The place was amazing and Matteo did everything to make us feel comfortable. The breakfast felt like a buffet with a lot of delicious and local food. The balcony offers a splendid view to the mountains and to the sea. We loved the place, the little city, Mattinata which is less than 5 minutes from Matteo's place, and we felt like we were in our home. Our two dogs also loved it! We will definitely like to come back.
