This is a lovely hotel in a great location, right on the promenade. The check in staff were friendly and very helpful. We were given a bus pass for free bus travel during our stay. We were also offered discount at the spa over the river and a free towel to use there. Our room was very clean, the bed was super comfortable. The shower was really good. The bathroom was large and very clean. Our room had a balcony with a view over the river. That was worth the little bit extra we paid per night. We were able to have the window open during the night, the promenade was really quiet. Breakfast was very good with a good choice of food. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

There was nothing we disliked

Hotel Aurora is in a fantastic location for visiting Merano. Right in the city centre on the river. The off-site car parking is relatively convenient and easy to access. All of the hotel's facilites are good. Our room was large, comfortable, and well-lit, with a balcony and excellent views of the river and nearby mountains. The staff were all friendly and very helpful, from the front desk to the porters to the serving staff in the restaurant. Breakfast was really excellent. We ate dinner in the restaurant, and the food was very good. And we also enjoyed refreshments in the cafè.

We travelled as 2 couples and our respective rooms were both too hot, so that we had to leave the balcony doors open. While the beds were comfortable, the pillows were too flat.

Excellent location, close to center. We'd stayed in Merano before but had to get taxis into town so it was lovely to walk out in the evenings. Very good breakfast. Lovely terrace for drinks. Short walk to partner car park, which was very secure. Room comfortable with daily clean. Tip, check the windows are closed in your room as there can be a little street noise at night

Nothing negative to say. Our fault but we didn't realise the hotel could book the Therme for us. Had we realised it would have saved us waiting over an hour for entry and would have been cheaper. So remember, if you are going to the Therme ask the hotel to book !

Our stay was wonderful! The staff was so helpful and accommodating. Our room was very comfortable and the balcony overlooking the river was very nice. The location in the center of Merano overlooking the river was outstanding. We will stay there again for our next trip.

The breakfast buffet was good but didn’t vary at all during our stay.

Hotel Aurora exceeded our expectations! It is located right in front of the Meran Terme, about 10 mins walk from the train station. There are lots of shops, bars and restaurants in the vicinity. The hotel is elegant and timeless. Our room was spacious with a beautiful terrace and garden. The dining room is very nice and the breakfast buffet was amazing...loads of choices. The staff were very friendly, went above and beyond in providing our needs. They even prepared a surprise birthday cake, 2 glasses of champagne and a hand written card for my sister-in-law's birthday. We had a very wonderful experience and I cannot recommend it highly enough!!! Thank you everyone at Hotel Aurora for making our ordnary vacation become an extraordinary one! We would love to come back again!

Great location. Great service in the reception. Nice and quiet rooms with AC. Breakfast was super. Parking was easy, even if we had to walk from the garage to the hotel.

Only one elderly employee at the bar/restaurant didn't care about us as guests. Maybe he just had a bad day. His colleague, a younger guy, made up for it (twice), though.

As my daughter described (who lives in Merano) it is a vintage hotel. Some parts of the room is old (like the wooden floor or some of the furnitures) but other parts are new. It is a nice mixture. Each balcony has 2 different shades which you can open and close remotely. The rooms are air-conditioned which was very useful when the temperature was 36-37 degree outside. We had a room looking to the river but during the night with closed windows we could not hear any noise from the street. The breakfast had a great variety, you could spend 2 hours with eating. The coffee was excellent too. The cold tomato soup for lunch is the best! And they welcome dogs, but not inside in the restaurant. We set outside with him, but in summer it was not a problem.

In winter we cannot take our dog in the restaurant as it is not allowed.

There was a bar right below our windows, and it was very noisy - loud music and shouting - every night till after midnight. We were hoping to be able to enjoy a glass of wine at the balcony, but we couldn't hear each other talking... even with windows closed it was noisy.

The location is superb, very centralised and near all the shops and entertainment. Reception was really welcoming and nice people.

The room is a little outdated with respect to how I think the hotel wanted to be represented and balcony is not kept in good condition. For a 4 star hotel, breakfast and how the sitting plan is organised don't give the 4 star hotel effect.

The location is perfect, and a room with a view of the river completes the stay in this charming city in the happiest way. Very good breakfast. I appreciated the fact that, after the first coffee, the waiter comes and asks if you want another one!

It is not a luxury hotel, but it is a hotel where you feel good
