If you like quirky this is for you. Lovely Boris explained that the building had been a house and a pub and that when his parents bought the property they decided not to pull it apart and modernise it. So what you end up with is a mix of old rickety staircases and floorboards and modern stylish bathrooms etc. It really works so well and the Boris, Mauritz and the rest of the gang were lovely. Oh and the food and wine was fabulous.

Comfortable beds in large room and efficient aircon. Whacky and very old but interesting environment and brilliant modernisation.

Car park too far away. Unloading on arrival problematic. Total no no if any disability issues. Multi levelled with stairs everywhere.

The breakfast was delightful, and the location very central. The hotel itself had a lot of character. I can't remember having such large rooms in a hotel before. If you could afford it, the hotel would be pleasant also for medium-length stays.

Great location in central Merano! Beautiful old building with parts of the hotel dating back to the 1400s, but completely modernized with lift and beautiful bathroom amenities. Great hosts, lovely Italian breakfast. Dinner and bar available downstairs.

THe lobby was very cold

The hotel has really retained its charm, it has so many original features and oozes history! Our room consisted of two bedrooms and the bathroom which worked so well with our toddler. We were able to eat dinner in our room without disturbing him which was fab!

This particular room is on the street and was very noisy with an early street cleaner on Saturday and loud pedestrians into the early hours.

A unique place you can never imagine ! So well decorated, full of nice people and ideally located. The city is not interesting, but this hotel is, definitely!

a very spacious room in an old beautifully restored building right in the heart of the city, yet quiet. friendly reception, and a good restaurant too, the breakfast exceptional.

Perhaps the only drawback are the steep stairs, the elevator doesn't go all the way.

Super nice staff. They were very welcoming to our pet. The building is a special mix of old and new structure, very impressive. We thought the restaurant was really good!

Friendly reception and checkin, wonderful room, spacious bathroom, great breakfast and lunch and seamless checkout process. The hotel has a very different architecture, modelled around a former inner courtyard and each room has a separate design!

Aircon was a bit loud and while breakfast was really fantastic, in this price category, I would expect more than paper napkins. But else, little negative to say!
