The location of the property was fantastic, conveniently close to all the places I needed for my work. The owner was incredibly friendly and went out of his way to ensure I had a great experience during my stay. The property itself was very clean, smelled wonderful, and felt extremely safe, making it perfect for staying alone. Although I don’t speak Italian and he doesn’t speak English, he made a genuine effort to communicate with me, showing kindness and respect. Despite my late-night arrival, he patiently waited and gave me a warm welcome. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and would definitely recommend this property to others.

The host sent us a message via WhatsApp, which we responded to in English. We were told to use a translator for their messages, and then the host got annoyed and said that it was listed in the booking that there were no English, only Italian. We couldn’t find this anywhere. When we got there the room had a bathroom outside the room, this was not described when we booked either. After we showered the bathroom smelled of sewage. Also, we contacted the host 30 min after arrival explaining that we could not find the remote to the air condition. He told us that is was on the desk in the room - it wasn’t. We looked all over the room… we then contacted them again in the evening when we got back in saying it still wasn’t there. The host responded with “what do you want me to do about it? It’s in the table and it’s not even that hot outside”… so no air condition and therefor not a comfortably stay at all. Hot and smelly room, and and extremely unwelcoming and not service minded host.

Extremely rudeness of the owner, from the beginning. When booked the room, received a one line sentence : 'Hi, arrival time ?'. I answered to it instantly : Hi, I'll arrive from Catania by train and I'll try to catch at the latest the train that arrives at 8PM at Messina centrale. Is it ok ? Regards'. The owner just answered : if you arrived before 8PM, it will be better'. On day of arrival, to please the owner, and because of museum 'uncertain opening times' in Sicilia (quite frequent...), I took an earlier train in the middle of the afternoon (if you read my messages and the ones from the owner, no precised time was agreed at this point, the owner just stated that it 'will be better' for him that I'll arrive BEFORE 8PM...). I noticed the owner the minute I got on the train to Messina, at 3PM. It was a 2 hours trip : 'Hi, I just jumped on the train. Scheduled arrival at 5PM at Messina centrale. Then I received this message from the owner, very angry at me : 'all of this is wrong, do you understand that you can't stay 24/7 in a b&b waiting for people? do you understand that there is an organization is a private life?'. From previous exchanges, I couldn't undersand this aggressive tone and reaction, as I was checking-in at a very normal and common time (5:30PM), noticing him the earliest I could, AND before 8PM as the owner wishes... Then in the room, the problems continued and there was a big odor issue all night, from inner moistures - mold. The breakfast was also very bad, in a distant cafe : the staff was as nice as the owner (certainly twin souls), treated me like beef livestock from A to Z, and basically no presenting options and choosing breakfast for me, with no coffee included or proposed.
