Aa real gem, set in the absolutely picturesque town of San Pantaleo-actually one of the best towns we visited during our trip, and we saw most of the northeast. It's a lovely place with great restaurants and boutique shops, tasteful and full of charm, but without being overly crowded. The hotel itself strikes the perfect balance between character and comfort-it feels charming and unique without being old or tired. The pool area was lovely and peaceful, and a great spot to unwind. Breakfast was another highlight, with a wide variety of delicious options each morning. A special shout-out to Bruno, who went above ano beyond to accommodate my severe gluten allergy. He was not only incredibly thoughtful and careful, but he did it all with a warm smile every day. Thanks to him, breakfast was completely stress-free for me, which made a huge difference to our stay. Bruno truly helped make our visit extra special, and we're very grateful.

Restaurant for dinner is not operating this year which was a shame. No irons in the room and you have to go down to collect. Beach towels are available for 5 euros per towel per day which seems a bit excessive. Not sure if they provide beach umbrellas

The hotel was extremely well taken care of - photos don’t do it full justice. Its beautiful and gives you the Italian vibes to fullest, staying traditional but with all comforts you might need - mosquito nets on the windows might be the only thing I missed .The hotel staff were amazing as well and very friendly and helpful. Very clean with and with great breakfast. We picked san pantaleo location quite randomly, but it was a great place to stay and go out, such a beautiful village. Highly recommending Hotel Arathena!

Being in the nature, it was not convenient to open the windows at night without having mosquito nets installed. Instead we would use airconditioning, which was not really needed temperature wise.

We loved everything about this hotel! Absolutely stunning, the staff were amazing and very accommodating and they made our honeymoon so special! The hotel is situated in a gorgeous little town with amazing restaurants and shops! We hired a car to venture the island every day but the hotel was a delight to return to every evening, with a beautiful pool and amazing views! We are a couple in our late twenties and we absolutely loved our stay at this hotel - would 10000% recommend and will be returning when we next visit Sardinia!

We had a great time here, worth every penny. The room is comfortable, the staff is kind and the views of the surrounding hills and mountains are incredible. The breakfast is one of the best we had in a hotel. We really appreciated the time spent at the pool, very chill and quiet. The experience at the hotel is impeccable.

I would be cautious about booking a sailing trip through the hotel. I would expect a hotel like Arathena to vet their partners better. Avoid booking a day trip on a vela d'epoca to Maddalena islands. We stopped at only 2 mediocre beaches on San Stefano and Caprera, the third stop that was supposed to be on Isola Porco didn't happen because the boat is too deep and cannot dock in shallow waters. The open bar was a cooler with a few bottles of water and a 3 day open cola. The hotel told us the trip would be 7-8h but we were back after around 5h. It was an unfortunate rip off.

Beautiful location - the local town of San Pantaleo was our favourite place we saw in Sardinia, great for bars, buzzy evenings, warm and safe atmosphere, kind people, quaint and pretty roads, mountainous backdrops in all directions. It’s worth highlighting the restaurant. You need to book the day prior and it is pricey, but it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had together. A really special treat to top off your holiday. We had everything we needed and hoped for from the hotel - amazing food, peaceful poolside, lovely room & view from the balcony, kind staff 24/7. It was a serene, beautiful getaway.

Quiet hotel in a sleepy little town. Staff were very helpful and accommodating, they all spoke perfect english. Short walk to town center from the hotel. Clean and comfortable. Very organised.

Could do with some quiet music or background noise at the pool. Hotel is quite secluded other than San Panteleo which is up in the mpuntains. We recommend hiring a car if you wish to explore the rest of the island. Parking situation at the hotel could be a bit clearer.

Location in the mountains was beautiful and the design was incredible. Pool area was beautiful. Terrace for breakfast was lovely. Staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough. Rooms were gorgeous with amazing bathrooms

Not a dealbreaker but the pictures of the terrace on booking need updating as it is now covered and looks VERY different. The restaurant is not owned by the hotel and is very expensive as well as having a very limited steak based menu.

Very authentic old fashioned hotel in a fantastic location - a five minute walk to the centre of San Pantaleo. Very clean. Staff v helpful. Our room was lovely with a balcony overlooking the pool . Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice .

Some of the rooms had v poor outside seating - almost in a corridor. The restaurant which is not owned by the hotel really lets it down . It serves almost only steak and some very unappetising expensive meat based starters . We ate there once and that was enough as there is only so much steak you can eat . Every night almost all of the guests go into town to eat or get takeaways . This means that the bar is almost always deserted . Such a shame as the hotel is lovely.

We loved how welcoming and friendly the staff were! The rooms were spacious and very clean which we appreciated too. Breakfast on offer was the best we’ve had in any hotel so far, they were super accommodating to a number of different allergens - a highlight for us was the multiple gluten free options that differed each day. Would definitely return and recommend this hotel for anyone looking to visit San Pantaleo!

The hotel was everything we expected and more! It was in a great location near the town and with a stunning view of the mountain area surrounding. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the hotel itself was very nice with a lovely pool area and in particular a lovely restaurant where we ate one night. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Sardinia!
