Was located in a lovely old building. Was close to everything you needed, 10min walk to Vatican. Chris was very helpful and allowed us use of the dining area. Breakfast was good value. Room was small but made good use of space and was stylishly decorated.

Air conditioning wasn’t very effective and made the room stuffy on hot days

We've really enjoyed our stay at piccolo imperiale. The room was cleaned every day. We felt at home and even though it is not the most luxurious place (it's a guesthouse, not a hotel), we had everything we might need. The public transport is close as the bus stops right in front of the place and the metro is a 10 minute walk. As well as a drinkwaterfountain in the street so you only have to buy bottles once (or bring your own) and you can just refill them.   Especially Christopher is an absolute gem, the takes care of the place and his guests as if we're staying in his personal home - which is partly true as he's been here for 6 years 6 days a week. Bless him and we'd definitely be back!

The only thing we would recommend to the owner is some more hangers in our room so have more space for clothes. :)

Perfectly located and quiet, comfortable room with private entry. Walking distance to the Vatican and literally opposite the Castel Sant'Angelo. It's also close to the metro and v v close to one of the airport bus stops. Friendly staff and nice bonus to have breakfast included. Really all you could need.

Could do with a light renovation, lots of little broken things (fixtures, fittings, edges of the surface of the laminate flooring worn away, loose toilet seat etc). It was clean, just all has seen better days.

It was perfect for our short stay! Very comfortable - all that we needed. It’s basic but we were very happy. The staff was so friendly and even let us check in early and leave our luggage after check out. Rooms were serviced everyday. It’s in such a lovely location with lots of restaurants around and so easy to walk into the centre. I would stay again!

The hot water wasn’t always working but it definitely woke you up having cool shower haha! Pillows were a little hard but manageable. Overall nothing too notable bad/terrible like some reviews mentioned.

It was the location, pictures and reviews that led us to the Piccolo Imperiale. It was simply perfect in every way and surpassed expectations. Perfect location to explore the city, classy feel in a classy neighbourhood without a classy price tag. Clean, comfortable and perfect for our family needs. Convenient for all travel needs too. The welcome was also amazing, warm, professional, friendly and unusually really engaging with our youngsters. Good breakfast with great coffee. Cannot rate this place highly enough.

Literally nothing to dislike.

The property was the perfect size for our small getaway break. Very homely and a fairly decent sized room for the price. Came with a mini fridge to store stuff, towels, a hair dryer and complimentary soap and body wash. The room was cleaned daily. And both the cleaner and the hosts were amazing. They spoke a good amount of English which made it much easier to arrange things. They even have their own connection to a taxi service which enabled me to get a taxi to the airport at 3am which was perfect. It was a close enough walk to the town centre and a very safe and secure bed and breakfast. Would highly recommend if you are on a budget. Was a very pleasant stay.

The only thing I did not like was the confusion with accessing the property. It takes a minute to get used to but as soon as you know what you’re doing it’s relatively simple.

The room is comfy and the location is very close to the bus stop that goes to all the main attractions. It's also a short 5 min walk to the nearest metro that goes to Roma termini. Close to shops and restaurants also. Staff are exceptional!!

The bathroom is a little dated and uncomfortable. Had an issue with a random leak and the staff were very helpful in looking after the issue.

Great location and wonderful building, walkable to everything you’d want to see in Rome! The bed was SO SO comfortable. The gentleman who checked us in was wonderful too.

our bathroom got very wet on the floor whenever we showered but it’s not a big deal. The breakfast was minimal for the price- we didn’t get it as I’m vegan, but I could see what was on offer

Great value for money. Brilliant location - walking distance to all main attractions. The staff were very helpful and polite and kindly looked after our bags once we had checked out so that we could explore one more time before going home! The room looked better than the photos and had been freshly decorated. Safe area.

The room size was manageable, but a bit small for three adults.
