Everything about the property was great - the location, the facilities, the food and most especially the personal attention given to us by the staff. The entire hotel has been carefully designed and finished retaining charm and authenticity. We found every corner to be beautifully curated, and with Stromboli as the main backdrop, it all made for a visually stunning experience. Relaxing on a hammock overlooking Stromboli on the hotel room terrace is an experience in itself. Food is excellent at both breakfast and dinner. They offer a selection of homemade marmalades, granitas and cakes for breakfast which are delightful. Dinner was also a pleasant experience and we fully recommend their exceptional pasta Norma with baked ricotta salata. Getting there and around was easy as the hotel is one alleyway away from the Main Street in Santa Maria Salina and port.

The breakfast was amazing (particularly the granitas and the fresh fruit from the garden) and the highlight of our stay (and the best breakfast we had in the Eolian Islands). A lot of homemade products (even the croissants) and plenty of options. Meals took place on a gorgeous terrace with a view. We had dinner there one night and the food (the pasta with prawns - especially) was again delicious. Throughout our stay the staff was very welcoming and available to assist at all times. Also the view from our terrace outside the room was stunning. We will definitely be coming back.

A minor point but the shower head could be more modern however this didn't impact our stay. Also, if you are seeking an early night (which we weren't) I would suggest a room away from the terrace / restaurant as it is open till late so you can hear the noise from the room.

Beautiful hotel on a lovely island. Booked it based on the pool and outside space and these both delivered. Very nicely decorated throughout. Breakfast was amazing with lots of choice and homemade cakes /pastries. Could order eggs as well which was great if you don't want a sweet breakfast. Mario and his wife were the perfect hosts. Shuttle can be arranged from port but we walked which wasn't too bad but if you have heavy luggage and arrive when it's hot it could be a struggle. We didn't eat in the restaurant because we wanted to try out places in the town. I'm sure it would have been amazing though.

Only thing I'd say is the shower took a while to get hot which obviously wastes a lot of water. Maybe not such an issue when it's hotter in the summer.

Eleanor and Mario were very welcoming and did everything they could to make it an enjoyable stay for my friend and I. Our room had beautiful tiles throughout and a lovely terrace overlooking the view The food was very good , (small portions), I had the seared tuna which was delicious. In the restaurant; the service was amusing - we were given the wrong wine, and the wrong food , but the waiting staff were very apologetic and charming about it.

Not recommended for anybody who can't walk up fairly steep hills. The hotel is about a 10- minute walk from the port uphill. We put a blanket over our louvered shutter doors because anybody could see in with the light on and there was too much light in in the morning.

Hotel Mamma Santina is a beautiful stay not to be missed when you visit the Aeolian Islands. It was in my top 3 stays during my 3 week Sicilian holiday. Pure bliss..from the warm welcome, the stunning pool, the personal hammock on my own balcony (fabulous to unwind in)..to the delicious food in their restaurant, where the head chef (also the owner) personally takes your order..it really was a place of dreams where you can totally chill out and feel so very welcome.

Everything to love, nothing to dislike.

Breakfast was lovely, not just a regular ‘continental’ with most (if not all) products made in-house. Granita superb! The complimentary unlimited natural or frizzy water (to save on plastic waste) was great environmental idea & was greatly appreciated. Saved buying bottled water. The pool was also beautiful.

The path up the hill to Mamma’s is a killer, especially in heat. Take up the offer of a transfer, especially when you first arrive. You’ll never make it with a suitcase.

This boutique hotel was the BEST! From the midday welcome coffee, the view, the amazing food, relaxing hammock, and of course the incredible owner and staff we could not ask for more. Try the black sapote granita - delicious! It was our favorite stay during our Sicilian trip and would highly recommend to others.

Everything was great!

An excellent hotel that brings you in a holiday atmosphere in an instant. The welcome was very warm and staff was friendly during our entire stay. They’re happy to prepare a lunch when you go hiking on the volcano during the day. The hammock in front of the room is a plus!

The breakfast is perhaps a little basic as there was not too much choice on bread or croissants. Mostly the typical sweet Italian stuff, but with some fresh fruit. Later in the afternoon there wee a lot of mosquitoes around the swimming pool, but which is of course difficult to handle. The walk to the hotel is definitely doable, although they offer a shuttle service

Staff was amazing and very helpful. We used transfer from the harbour, which was a good idea as part of the way is a bit steep. Rooms are airconditioned, was a nice temperature to sleep (for June :)

There are mosquitos on the island, so bringing repellents with you may be helpful.

Vibrant and beautiful property, great location. The restaurant and pool were very nice and the rooms were comfortable and eclectic island style. The staff was overly welcoming and available, with great communication. Don’t miss the breakfast! It was the best we had on the island. Also, Hotel is also a very short walk to the main strip where you can find many shops and things to do.
