I loved this hotel for its old world elegance and quieter location away from Sorrento and the crowds. The view from out suite on the top floor was amazing and the swimming pool was lovely mainly because there are no small children and no booming music. Really relaxing! The disco in the bar (only on a Friday) was also good fun. We only had breakfast at the hotel which I thought was fine although the coffee is disappointing considering this is Italy. We went to some of the local restaurants which were great. Moonlight in Sant'Agnello had great seafood as did La Marinella but this is expensive although the setting is lovely as you are sitting by the sea. The local pizzeria near the church in Sant'Agnello is also good value as is the pizzeria near the hotel although it doesn't have much ambience. Good for take away if you are stuck in your room during a storm! We did boat trips to Capri and Positano but both are heaving during peak season and our trips there were only saved by finding a good spot for lunch with views. Restaurante Bruno in Positano and the cafe next to where you get our of the funicular in Capri has great views over the harbour and not too expensive. We also took a bus from Sant'Agnello to Puolo beach just beyond Sorrento. It's a bit of a walk down to the beach and up again but worth it and there are cafes down there. Another trip off the tourist trail that is worth doing it taking the funicular from castellammare di stabia (train goes there from Sant'Agnello) to Monte Faito. It feels almost alpine when you get to the top and the views over the Bay of Naples (3,000ft up) are spectacular. There some nice cafes up there for lunch. Easier than climbing up Versuvius which we didn't do. We used the hotel's courtesy bus a lot to get into Sorrento as it's quite a walk but it's always nice to come back to the hotel to get away from the crowds in Sorrento.

Unfortunately we were very unlucky with the weather during our stay in early August as we had 4 consecutive nights of thunderstorms and torrential rain. We were lucky to have a suite however as we had an extra room with table and chairs where we could play cards and watch the storms which were quite spectacular!

This hotel makes you feel like you're at a fancy hotel from the 80s. Staff was so attentive, professional and friendly. The atmosphere of the hotel was like no other place I've been. Food was great, drinks were great. The entryway, bars and the furniture at the hotel are truly beautiful. The rooms are dated, but it's part of the character of the hotel. Rooms were spacious, beautiful view from the balcony of the mountains and the ocean. Robes and slippers were thoughtful. Air conditioning in the rooms was icy cold. Hotel is a bit far from the main shops but they offer a free shuttle bus so it is not a problem, parking was also free which was appreciated.

Bed was average. TV in room very dated and kept freezing -very minor problem. Everything else was amazing and well.worth it, would definitely still return

Very helpful and friendly staff - especially reception and cleaner. Family room and bathroom were spacious and kept very clean. Lovely pool area to sit and relax - as the hotel is well away from the main road it is nice and quiet. Shuttle bus to Sorrento is a life saver though agree that guests would find one or two extra runs a day helpful - train station is only 10 minutes walk and great as an alternative. Breakfast selection was decent though after a week or so you might find yourself in need of a change.

Just the shuttle bus timetable - there is one at 17:00 and 18:00 but the next one to Sorrento is at 20:30. If you have been out during the day to one of the local sites such as Pompeii - making the 18:00 bus is likely to be a bit of a rush. Restaurants in Sorrento are quite busy later and there is usually a wait to get in anywhere if you have to take the 20:30.

Fabulous and great variety

Just a little up from the town of Sorrento and the hotel is on a hill. However a shuttle bus (free) runs from hotel and back a couple of times per day. This was a great addition. A Taxi is OK to take after the last bus up from the town at 11 and this costs €25

This is a reliable and in the good sense of the word traditional hotel. It had a "grand hotel"-feel to it, and offers very good facilities in the room, very good breakfast and no hidden (negative) surprises. We liked the free shuttle to Sorrento. Staff was professional and friendly. Hotel is not too modern but very well maintained. Good choice for a few nights.

The location is quiet but a bit uninspiring. There is (of course) not really much of a view (but hotels in Sorrento with a view are much pricier). The bathroom didn't have ventilation, maybe out of order? Otherwise, no complaints. Solid performance.

Very clean, grand reception area, stunning views, shuttle bus into Sorrento.

Food wasn’t brilliant. We paid €30 per person for a buffet dinner on the first night as we arrived quite late, but none of us felt it was worth the money. Breakfast buffet was better than the dinner.

The decor is stunning, with lots of fantastic object d'art pieces scattered throughout, and the staff are exceptional. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and valued - particularly the reception team and Mr Giavani in the restaurant. There were always spaces on the plentiful sun loungers and the pool area was kept very clean and tidy.

The location is a bit far out and while there is a shuttle bus, it only runs a few times a day. Luckily we had hired a car so we were not dependant on the bus. The room was a little tired, and the pillows incredibly uncomfortable, and the "balcony" was simply narrow railings so no space to sit out which was a shame. However, overall I would recommend this hotel.

The hotel is very nice, ultra spacious in all areas, and decorated with original vintage / retro art deco, especially at the lobby. The rooms are traditionally furnished, and from the highest floors you may enjoy beautiful views of Sorrento. I would suggest to book a panoramic sea view room. I would like to highlight the friendliness of the staff. Everyone was kind and very willing to help us with any request and to answer all our questions with patience. The free shuttle bus is very convenient to get to Sorrento (and back) - although we had a car and we didn’t use this service. Bonus: if you rent a car, like we did, the hotel provides free parking space. The breakfast is almost Ok, but i think some buffet options additions are necessary, like crepes / waffles, cold salmon and different types of poached eggs, apart from the fried, boiled and scrambled ones.

My -1 rate is due to the pillows & towels: I believe that they should be replaced. They seem and feel old and over used.

Clean and comfortable. Some of the decor is a little tired but overall we really enjoyed our stay. Giovanni is the star of the hotel and his disco night, DJ skills and dancing all added up to a superb night! All the staff were great and the food in the A la carte restaurant was really good. The shuttle bus into Sorrento was handy and always on time.

Breakfast buffet was adequate. Could be improved if fresh coffee, option of cooked to order (recognising this adds requirements for extra staff and wait).

Breakfast was good and lots of choice. Location was good just a short drive from Sorrento central palazza. Staff good, pool area good. Don't trust Google Maps to guide you to this place if driving, it had a tendancy to direct you down a back alley to get to the hotel, leading to a dead-end.

No pool side snacks after 2:30pm except for a plain toasted sandwich - this would have been a perfect stay if there was a better "snack" menu all day long. Hamburger on the menu is not an "American style burger which was disappointing, but all the Italian style food was excellent.
