Gennaro and his family are the ultimate hosts! They will welcome you into their home like a family member. Their property is located on the hills of Sant'Agnello, away from the noisy traffic, offering a spectacular view of Vesuvio and the Gulf of Naples. 'La Marinella' beach is within walking distance, and Sorrento is a 30 min walk. You will be treated to amazing food, including homegrown fruit, and local delicacies for breakfast - the pistachio croissant is unforgettable! If you're looking for a real Italian experience, with a kind and warm family, then I can't recommend Gennaro enough. You will be in great hands!

This was the best experience I could have asked for! The family is SO kind and welcoming. They took such great care of me- especially since I am younger and was traveling alone, it was so comforting to have a family looking out for me. They took care of anything I could’ve needed and were extremely prompt with anything that needed attention. Also, very easy to reach them. All of this PLUS, it is a beautiful property and the view is AMAZING. It was nice to be out of the busyness of town center and have a quiet little oasis.

The only “negative” would be the fact that it is up a hill which can make it a hike to get to, but it ended up being my workout of the day. I usually would pack all of my things for the day and head into town so I only had to make the walk back once, and many of the days, Gennaro (the host) drove me into town since it is about a 30 minute walk. He was very eager to help where he could. But I would recommend getting a car service up/down the hill when carrying luggage at least.

Gennaro is the best host we ever met. Very attentive, welcoming, social, super clean and always making sure everyone is happy and have all they need. He offers a croissant and other sweet pastries, coffee, juice and water for breakfast which was a very nice gesture on his part. He's great to talk to, get some tips on local travel and activities. He even was happy to socialise with the guests in the evenings. One of the evenings he did a bbq and shared some of his homemade limoncello. Absolutely perfect hosting skills! The property is about 15-20min walk from the station, in a quiet, safe area, with incredible views of the sea and mountains. Sorrento can be easily reached by train, 1 stop, or 30min walk. There are resturants and supermarkets in the area as well. The room was sufficient and the private bathroom was appreciated. Gennaro takes pride in keeping the house clean. Definitely a well recommended place for a relaxing stay sorroided by lemon and mandarin trees!

What an absolutely incredible place to stay! The room was perfect and had a stunning view to the ocean. Gennaro our host was such a friendly inviting person who made our trip wonderful. He provided us with fresh breakfast every day from the local shops, and was great to chat with. When we come back to Sorrento in future, we look forward to staying here again. Thank you so much!

I’ve never left a booking.com review in my life but I could not recommend montemagno more so I had to. We booked our room a couple nights before on a whim and didn’t know what to expect- but we stayed at 6 or 7 different places throughout our trip to Europe and Montemagno was by far the best. The location is perfect, about a 15 minute walk from Sorrento and the property is beautiful, a gorgeous view and filled with lemon trees. The family that lives there went above and beyond- they made us dinner, they drove us to the train station, and were so accommodating to anything we could want/need. It truly felt like we were staying with family because they were so welcoming and kind. We were dreading leaving and both kept saying we wish we didn’t have the rest of the trip and could just stay. It was definitely the highlight of our trip!

Perfect, authentic and rustic everything I could wish for and more.Fantastic views over Sorrento, Naples, Vesuvius and perfect base for everywhere - port to beautiful Capri and Amalfi coast. Train to Pompei and Naples. The beach. Fresh croissants every morning. Genarro is the perfect host, helpful, funny and always smiling. His beautiful family are amazing too. They asked me to join them for a delicious home cooked meal, where we chatted and laughed all evening. Never wanted to leave. It was perfect therapy after a challenging year. A dream come true. We loved our stay at Montemagno! Not only was the property absolutely stunning but the high-quality service and hospitality made our weekend in Sorrento extra memorable. The accommodations were clean, comfortable, and safe. The location was perfect and we were able to walk almost everywhere. Every morning Gennaro went out to get us fresh croissants and he graciously drove us to the train station a few times which saved us the trouble of worrying about transportation. We enjoyed meeting the other guests staying there and the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. I highly recommend staying here!!

Gennaro is very welcoming and provided us with great service. The location of the house is very good. You can overlook the sea from the balcony and it is not far from the train station. The room and toilet are clean and tidy, and the breakfast is delicious. Another host, FiFi, is very cute. I hope to see her again next time. As one of the few Chinese staying here, we are very honored!!!!

beautiful location, easy to walk to sorrento and very hospitable hosts. there is a balcony where you are able to see the water and Sant’Agnello has some lovely spots and restaurants to explore. Gennaro was attentive and helpful, giving rides to the ferry or train when he was available and even invited guests to have dinner with his family. if you are looking for a warm, inviting, interactive experience, you will definitely want to choose Montemagno! It was especially lovely as a solo traveler who wanted to meet others and enjoy people time.

only issue I had was with google and was in no way the fault of Gennaro or the location- when you’re looking up directions, don’t use the address, use the name, Montemagno and you won’t have a problem. it’s a big red gate and make sure you ring the bell so he knows you came!

If you are looking for a stay with a rustic Italian feel and just a standard hotel, then this is the place to be. A 500m slightly uphill walk from the main road into Sorrento, set into the hillside overlooking Sant'Agnello. Lemon trees and orange trees surrounding you as you walk up to the main house. The facilities and our room were immaculately clean. The view from our room was incredible, especially in the morning at sunrise. Gennaro, the host, was very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us and kept the coffee flowing at breakfast time.

I'd recommend taking a set of ear plugs for bedtime as you could hear other guests in the property and also the church bells in the local area can be heard from everywhere.
