Nice, quiet and authentic hotel in an amazingly green area with a small but nice pool away from the building. Old style and with lots of personality, a library to chill in, a garden to wander, and if you don't mind squeaky floorboards in the old villa, this is the dream. Staff were reserved but friendly, we felt right at home, and the staff gave guests space to just be. Fantastic associated restaurants (both La Scuderia and O'Lac), even though the breakfast was a bit plain. The coffee at the breakfast buffet was well made, and the staff were friendly. The town was lovely, and early morning walks around the lake were wonderful. Underground parking was spacious and easy to access. Traintracks run relatively close by, but the trains are so sparse that it didn't ruin the experience.

Huge room, king size bed (hard but confortable), good occultant curtains, big bathroom with nice shower. Breakfast was great ! Hone made grilled vegetables, eggs, bacon, pancakes, cakes, sweets. Everything you need for a breakfast. Salty, sweet, a lot of choices with also the regular bread, jam, yogurt fruits. You can ask for cappuccino and good coffee. The swimming pool is really a plus ! In the big garden, view on the lake, many seats. You can order drinks on the terrace and brings them at the swimming pool.

Quite noisy with bells from the tower nearby, even with earplugs, it woke us up. Also not very well isolated with the door of the room, you can hear people talking in the hallway. For the breakfast, short staffed, we were not welcomed nor put to a table. We arrived and all tables were full. Another day, no clean plate were available. 2 out of 3 days, the cooked dishes were cold (eggs, vegetables, pancakes). You need to ask the waiters for specific coffees, its not very clear if nobody tells you

I will start from the breakfast that I really enjoyed after so much time as I suffer from celiac disease and I need to follow a gluten free diet. I was very happy to discover that there were gluten free options such as sealed loafs of bread and croissants. Maybe it could sound limited to other options, but for us that have such health issues, it is always delightful to discover them and feel accepted. Regarding the hotel, it is a grand mansion with another new building where the facilities are. I stayed at the new building, which was very comfortable and clean. The mattress was soft and the bed was huge, more than needed for one person, although very welcome. It would be ideal for couples. I have a view at the garden and it was very quiet and nice.

The parking slots are quite limited. As I was there on a business trip, I often arrived back at the hotel late at night and I couldn't find where to park within the premises. I wasn't sure where parking was allowed and where not and I didn't know what my alternatives would be in case I didn't find a place. Regarding the location, it was a bit difficult to find it without a GPS, but this is partially due to the snake-like roads of the area. However, a few more signs could be helpful. Another minor issue was that I was offered a bottle of sparkling water at the room. It was very welcome to find it on the room's table, but this was just one-off. The way it was presented and maybe me feeling a bit spoiled, I would have expected to have a bottle every day. However, this was just a minor issue.

Driving up to the hotel makes you feel like royalty. The villa is absolutely stunning and the staff is very friendly. Though we didn't get around to using it, there is a pool next to the villa with a beautiful view down the hill to the lake. We stayed in a room in the modern building, which was clearly communicated beforehand. There was a free-to-use parking garage underneath this building, which kept the car cool and made it easy to take our luggage up to the room. The room and the attached bathroom were pretty large. The bed was huge and we found it very comfortable, though it might be too firm for some.

This was our second stay at Hotel Villa Borghi in 3 months, and it seemed even better this time round. The main villa building is breathtaking and the whole property is stunning. It features secure parking and easy access to an elevator. Our room was very spacious and included a fridge, as well as a very comfortable and clean super-king-sized bed. The private ensuite was large and included the most amazing shower system. Our rooms also included some beautiful views of Lake Comabbio and some distant snowy alps. The receptionists and breakfast attendants were again very courteous and friendly. The buffet breakfast included everything you need plus more. The kind attendants also served freshly made coffees to order. We loved exploring the peaceful town of Varano Borghi and the lovely lake. My wife and I both loved our second stay at Villa Borghi and we would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful 18th century villa at a bargain price. Just about everything was absolutely excellent at the price we paid. I've only two remarks to make and neither is enough to subtract from a 10/10 due to the sheer quality for price that we got in the region; 1) The shower has four functions, however the basin/walls are too short and even for myself, 1.93m tall, it was hard to stand under the shower, as the water was directed to the middle of the glass wall. Tldr; it doesn't fit at all. 2) Pancakes at breakfast were a bit flaky and the Coffee a bit old. That said, you can order your coffee fresh with the waitresses. All in all an absolute gem of an accommodation and we would absolutely visit again when nearby!

A stunning set of impressive buildings on a large park/estate with secure parking and walkways. The main building is an authentic 3-storey noble villa that makes you feel like you are staying in a private castle. Our room was very spacious and included a very comfortable super-king-sized bed. The private ensuite was large and included the most amazing shower system. Our rooms also included some beautiful views of Lake Comabbio and surrounding mountains. The receptionists and breakfast attendants were very courteous and friendly. The buffet breakfast included an impressive assortment of savoury and sweet offerings. The kind attendants also served freshly-made coffees to order. One suggestion for Villa Borghi managers is that they could provide a kettle or coffee pod machine in each room. Other than that, the place is perfect. My wife and I both loved our stay at Villa Borghi and will definitely be returning here again.

The view from the rooms is stunning, overlooking all the surrounding greenery. The restaurant offers good food, parking is spacious, and the swimming pool area is truly exceptional. Staff on-site were helpful and welcoming. The hotel offers a peaceful and calming atmosphere with a charming castle-like feel.

Although the hotel was full, there weren’t enough staff to cover the entire property, which affected service at times. Room amenities were also quite limited—Boiler and coffee / tea are only provided upon request.

the room I obtained after I changed it was very good, basic but large and clean with a balcony and a fantastic view over the trees. ( the first room I received was small without balcony with a view over the garbage area) the breakfeast is good in a fantastic garden. overall very good value

the staff is not so welcoming and helpful. In fact you have to know that there is two different hotels with separate buildings and different breakfeast place . It is only mentionned that the room you order is in a different building ( the annex) but its not mentionned that it is a different hotel actually. I don t like when things are not clear

Lovely large room. View overlooking the gardens and pond. Great little pizza restaurant on site, which was good value. Lovely old building with some beautiful rooms. Small pool on site.

Spa closed on days we wanted to use it. Insufficient staff in restaurant for dinner and breakfast. Breakfast was a bit disappointing - always waiting for staff to provide coffee or missing items that had run out in the buffet. Our suite had an upstairs sitting room, but the windows were too high to see out of and there was no television in the sitting area, so one ended up in bed watching the television and might as well not have had the suite. Bit out of the way, so had to drive everywhere.
