The location is beautiful. The view of the countryside is stunning, The renewed caste has a romantic atmosphere. The annexed restaurant (Locanda Petreja) is very good and the sommelier/maitre de sale very competent and courteous. The pool area is nicely organized. Overall a good quality/price ratio.

IMO the following aspects should be improved: there is no "community/reading room" that can be used by the guests - if the weather is rainy guest can stay only in the room(s) the breakfast buffet should be improved; it includes some typical cakes of Umbria, but they were not always fresh the area for parking the cars is limited (and sometimes parking is laborious) the trash cans at the back of the property are in the parking area; perhaps some light "masquerading" structure could be added. the menu of the pool bar is limited it would be useful to have some (more) staff

Gorgeous location, close to Todi, Spello and other hill towns. The building is a medieval castello turned into a hotel, set in the beautiful Umbrian countryside. I don’t think the photos do it justice. An ample cooked breakfast was included of hot and cold dishes. There is a pool area with bar for relaxing (shout out to Sam the attentive barman!). There is a day spa and restaurant on site and it was a lovely setting for a birthday meal with traditional Umbrian cuisine. We had a spa and sauna in our suite which was a lovely extra. The staff were fabulous. Would definitely recommend this place for a relaxing holiday in Umbria

All very good, except for a minor mix up with meals

The Borgo is impeccably kept. When you arrive, it feels like you landed in a fairy tale. The views are just unbeatable and the gardens are really alive with flowers, herbs, ancient trees and birds. Breakfast is great. Very comfortable beds!!

Our only issue was that the restaurant was expensive when compared to other local restaurants. The food is very good, but it could try to be less fancy and offer some more humble food. If the restaurant offered a more relaxed menu, i would have eaten there everyday.

The property is beautiful and in a good location.

While the food at dinner is really very good, the breakfast is not really at the same level: to offer sliced cheese and a spreadable cheese from an industrial maker in a region producing good quality cheeses is unacceptable to me. There is a big difference between the staff, some of them very competent and affable, others very dry and without being able to be proactive instead of only being reactive.

Little oasis on a middle of nowhere. Very lovely place, loved style and service. Everyone was super nice and helpful. We got an upgraded to a huge room . Breakfast was not huge but tasty, rooms were clean. Only sad part that it was not a pool season yet:( Would be amazing to enjoy view from there. Highly recommend to rent an electric bikes from them. We made a nice 2.5h circle around an area. Thank you and hope to see u again. I wish we live closer.

The most amazing experience of a night in a castle, a trip back in time, sensational room and surrounding views. The old village courtyard inside the castle was thoughtfully restored to the original. The sensational breakfast offerings left us stunned at what was being offered including fresh honey straight from honeycomb! Delightful dinner with staff making us feel very welcome and looked after. This castle has been completely renovated but it still has the feel of being old. It is extremely well maintained, the restaurant is excellent and the staff super helpful. The nearby town of Todi is worth spending a few hours walking around.

The gardens and pool area is closed off until June. I was disappointed not to be able to enjoy a relaxing afternoon sitting there even if the pool wasn't open.

Claudia at the bar was wonderful, she served delicious wine and had an amazing play list. We enjoyed one of the bottles of wine out on the terrace to watch the sunset....lovely. Stephanie at check-in was super helpful and kind. The staff were all very kind. We would like to come back in the summer when the pool is open. :)

Since the weather turned cold it would have been nice to sit by the fire pit outside but it was not going.

It is magical place in the heart of Umbria, not far from Todi. You stay in a medieval castle turned into a country resort with all the anemnities you need - spa, swimming pool. The restaurant is cosy, the price is reasonable for the quality, the staff are execptional. Large dogs are also welcome, just prepare for the local cats :)

We absolutely loved Borgo Petroro for many reasons - it's fabulous location in the middle of the beautiful, quiet Umbrian countryside, it's amazing historical and clean visual appeal, the relaxing garden and other lovely areas to sit, the bikes to hire for a wonderful safe ride with amazing views, the great breakfast with plenty of variety, the castle cat, our enormous suite, the most enjoyable evening meals and the very attentive, friendly restaurant manager Mansour!!
