Do yourself a big favour and stay here. Recommended 100% for couples and solo travellers. If you are looking for a peaceful escape from the mad traffic of Amalfi coast - then Villa Ami is for you. The 5 rooms are run like a family home with local ladies offering all the services needed. The rooms are so clean and comfortable with extra homely touches like free soft drinks and even minibar snacks. At breakfast - a complete array of continental breakfast items - even goats milk cheese and yoghurts from local farms…and your choice of egg, prosciutto and other changing local specialities. Above all - Imma and her team are the kindest, caring people I have ever experienced in a bnb. Yes - there are many steps on the hillside to get there - but the town is called Scala, so this is no surprise.
It has to be said it is slightly challenging to get there with the steps - but it is also a nice daily workout and a good way to walk off too much wine with your dinner. And the donkey to carry your bags for you is a traditional, local touch supporting the local goat farmers

Everything! We wished we could stay longer & plan to come back one day soon. Breakfast was lovely & the scenery is incredible.
Not a dislike but check in was a little confusing as it was a bit hard to find only really cause we booked last minute and the staff were very helpful. You have to walk down a long path of steps to the property but it’s mostly a ramp so suitcases were easy & they arranged a lovely mule to bring our suitcases back up for us.

The property is Beautiful. Very well kept and quite a site. It has an amazing view, pool, and great atmosphere! You need to walk 8 minutes thru a beautiful path where you see the grape 🍇 vines and lemon 🍋 trees. You see the goat and lambs farms and, despite the walk.(though Amalfi itself it’s a place for walkers. You need to understand that you will need to walk everywhere, so it is part of the charm of the place). I think is quite an amazing place to visit. The primal factor that will make this place worth staying at the is the people that work in Villa Ami. Imma , Lucia, Clelia, Tiziana, Armand ( owner), they are AMAZING! They treated me like a King! Their breakfasts were excellent and prepared as you like, with the European cuisine style. The owner baked a DELICIOUS cake every single day for breakfast, and I mean those cakes were better than any I have tasted. One of the guests apparently got sick from an existing condition, and the staff was on top of their care! Many of my friends told me about their experiences in much more accessible and exclusive hotels , and they all envied my stories and my experiences in Villa Ami because they did not get the Royal treatment I had. I have been in many places in the world and this is a memory and experience I will share and cherish all my life!
I loved everything. There was nothing wrong that I could say I didn’t like. I was pleased and satisfied.

Villa Ami is an absolute delight. Spectacular views, comfortable rooms and a peaceful spot overlooking Amalfi and towards Ravello. This all said, the true secret to VA is the people. Imma, Lucia and Sabrina are wonderful and generous hosts. Every morning we had a fun and delicious breakfast together. They helped us with local guidance, including restaurants (Ristorante San Giovanni was a fan favourite!), buses, transfer cars and speed boat hires. Nothing was too much trouble. They made our stay a pleasure and we miss them all! We went from strangers to firm friends and look forward to seeing them again soon! My girlfriend and I have spent time on the Amalfi coast previously, so we deliberately wanted to avoid the large crowds you get in staying in Positano, Amalfi etc (no knock on either place, which we love, but we wanted something different). Villa Ami was a lovely escape. As they say in the property description, getting there requires some walking up & down stairs. Don’t be put-off by this. There are means to get luggage to Ami (the donkeys are a fun adventure!) and the views, community and friendship you receive in return are well worth it. We can’t wait to return!
Nothing. We loved it all.

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Ami. The location is simply magical – set in the mountains with breathtaking views and there are ruins of an old church at the edge of the property. It was the perfect place to relax and recharge. The staff were absolutely lovely. A special thank you to Imma, who made our stay feel so warm and enjoyable. We especially enjoyed our conversations with her about the books we are reading such a memorable part of our holiday. Villa Ami is the perfect choice if you want to escape the crowds of Amalfi and enjoy a bit of privacy in a beautiful setting. The Antico Borgo restaurant is only a 5–6 minute walk away, and we ate there several times – the food was always excellent. We would be more than happy to return here again.
Nothing.

Amazing place, we felt like in a paradise. Accommodation looks like in the pictures. Big garden with a lot of deckchairs, swimming pool (daily cleaned), nice terrace with amazing view of the surroundings which are breathtaking. Hosts and staff are very nice, always ready to help. Accommodation is very cosy and super clean. Fridge is filled with beverages for free, also fruits, tea and coffee are available for free. Breakfast was delicious, local milk products, home eggs, home-made pastry, delicious Italian coffee. Restaurant is just 10 min of walk, of course you can take longer walks and visit Ravello, Villa Cimbrone gardens with "Infinity terrace view", cosy bistro under a rock (La Giuliana Di Mansi Marco), Amalfi coast/beach. Right next to the villa are the ruins of Basilica Sant'Eustachio. Just one thing - be prepared for a lot of stairs and do not expect to get everywhere by car, you will need to walk :-) BUT IT'S WORTH IT. And don't forget to try Limoncello - it's made of lemons produced in this area.

Villa Amì is a lovely and relaxing place to stay, great view, very clean, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, perfect for a getaway. However, be prepared for a lot of stairs—getting to the villa requires quite a climb, and if you have luggage, you’ll need to pay €10 for a donkey to carry a single suitcase. Also, the beds are quite outdated and could use replacement for better comfort. Overall, it’s a charming spot with great hospitality, but best suited for those who don’t mind the stairs and a bit of rustic charm. Thanks a lot for the sweet Imma and the other ladies who work there
There are so many stairs to reach the villa, which can be tiring. Luggage is tricky—you have to pay €10 for a donkey to carry just one suitcase. Beds are outdated and could use replacement for better comfort.

This is the level of care, kindness and friendliness that other hotels should match. The service is at the highest level, Francesca and Imma helped to rent a scooter, at every step we felt that they wanted to create the best conditions for our stay. The location of the hotel is very beautiful, we were given advice on where to go and what to see. Breakfast was great too. We can safely say that this hotel was one of the best in our life.

Our stay at this bed and breakfast was nothing short of extraordinary. The staff were fabulous and exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, they treated us like family, offering exceptional service and genuine hospitality. Their kindness and attention to detail made us feel right at home, and they went above and beyond to ensure our comfort throughout the stay. It was clear they cared deeply about our experience, and their warmth was evident even when it came time for us to leave—they were genuinely sad to see us go, which truly touched our hearts. This level of personal connection is rare and made our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend the and can’t wait to return in the future.
What we loved most was how tranquil and relaxing the location was—tucked away from the busy cities, yet perfectly situated for a peaceful getaway. The serene surroundings were exactly what I had pictured when I dreamt of Italy. To top it off, another beautiful town was just a lovely hike away, offering the perfect opportunity to explore the scenic landscape.

Everything was absolutely perfect. The villa is stunning, with breathtaking views and a super relaxing atmosphere. Imma and The staff, especially the lovely lady Im, were incredibly kind, welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless, beautifully scented, and fully equipped with air conditioning and everything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and served with care. I felt 200% happy — I couldn’t have asked for more!
There was honestly nothing I didn’t like. Everything exceeded my expectations.
