The staff was amazing! The woman who checked us in gave us great instructions to get there, and then great directions to park our car! The location of the hotel was absolutely perfect! We walked out the front door and two mins later, we were in the main piazza. It's located really close to a farmacia, restaurants, churches, etc. The layout of the floors were goofy but I think it's because they connected with another building to expand. The elevator was ideal since we had some heavier luggage (travelling with a baby requires more stuff than you'd think!). It was a perfect sized room for my husband and baby, we had plenty of room. The room even had a little patio that we sat out on and had a glass of wine. They graciously provided a baby cot for my son to sleep in so we were able to get some good sleep since he was safe in his bed!

Honestly, this isn't even a big deal but the bar downstairs could be a bit more spread out. It felt a bit awkward to grab a drink downstairs. That being said, it did not detract from our stay at all! They were incredibly welcoming and lovely staff/owners!

The hotel is very central, on a very steep hill (all of Volterra is very steep hills) on a very beautiful charming old street with excellent nearby shops and restaurants. The room was lovely, with a double bed and a single, and lots of luxuries like bathrobes and a bowl of candy . The staff were super helpful and generally great.

It's winter, so the staff are only there for a brief time. The room and the hotel are accessible, but only if you're with an able bodied friend -- which I was. The accessible door has to be opened from inside, by someone who can climb stairs. The staff aren't there to do it for you. You need a friend. Fortunately I had one, but if I'd been alone I'd have had to haul myself up three steps. This is really my sole complaint. The room was accessible and so was the bathroom, with a shower stool and lots of room.

Beautiful small boutique hotel with an elevator near parking (closest?) in the heart of Volterra. Very clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms. VERY helpful concerning my ECV and mobility concerns. Excellent staff.

Although they were accessible and very friendly, they are down a steep incline about 1/4 down the hill. My ECV (limited 10 degree inclines) couldn’t handle it going up. Going down was no problem. Also, perhaps since I traveled at the end of October, the reception was open for limited hours. In the end, it worked out fine for us but I didn’t know it in advance.

The hotel was in an excellent location, near the car park and all the main sights. The room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable and king size! There was a nice selection for breakfast and the staff were very attentive.

We would have liked a bit more natural light in our room. We upgraded for the bigger room but perhaps would have been better to stay in our original room which would have been on a higher floor?

Exceptionally helpful and welcoming staff. Our bicycles were safely stored in the Bar. I think that couldn't happen if they were busy, but it was very accommodating of them. Our room was a bit small, but we knew that because it was one of the cheaper rooms. The location is right in the centre of Volterra with lots of places to eat nearby. The breakfast (€15 each) was outstanding with both savoury and sweet offers. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Helpful, friendly hosts. New, clean facilities, modern, comfortable, tastefully decorated. Amazing array of breakfast choices. Comfortable self-serve breakfast area. Delicious pastries.

Just a minor inconvenience, but the electrical connectors were a little hard to reach from the bed, even with a 3m cord. I had to unplug the mini fridge to access a plug. The single bed was too small for me and the covers kept coming off, but I'm used to sleeping in a larger bed.

Everything! Room was great, super clean. Nice touches with the toiletries, robes, slippers and chocolates. Breakfast was phenomenal each morning and the coffee machine was awesome. There is a bar if you’d like a drink. Best part: Hot shower with rain shower head and lots of water pressure. Heavenly! If we return we will stay here. Staff is beyond hospitable, made great dinner recommendations. I messaged the property the day prior to our arrival and requested dinner reservations at Torre de Porcellino which they promptly secured for us. Such a great stay, and the drive to the Leaning Tower of Pisa was only an hour! vie from our room in pics below!

Nothing. Mattress was firmer than I am used to, but woke up feeling refreshed and comfortable. It was not an issue for us, but if you have mobility issues, this place is on a side street with a steep hill that could be difficult to climb for some.

The hotel is in the heart of one of Tuscany’s most beautiful and interesting city. I loved the contrast between the historic outdoors and the modern and super efficient indoor of the hotel. A very clean, comfortable and quiet hotel.

Even if I try hard, I can’t find anything wrong with the hotel

Hotel Volterra was amazing, the location is excellent right in the old town but in a lovely quiet street. The staff are the best we have had throughout our 3 month trip around Europe. Anna was so helpful when we had car issues. The breakfast was delicious with a large selection, the room was so nice and very large . We look forward to staying again in the future.
