Room was good. Not exactly Ocean front as requested and stated on our booking confirmation, the next room around the side of the building. Location was good. Big surprise when we went to settle the account. We thought we had fully prepaid the room costs in advance through Booking.com. However, we were hit with a "Resort Fee of USD$50 per night plus a range of taxes. This was a shock and a rort really. Would be much happier paying for what we actually used!

The location of this hotel was simply perfect! The beach access was right across the street from the hotel (we could see the ocean from our balcony). It was also in a quieter area of Waikiki while still being central and within walking distance of all the major attractions, shopping, and dining. Marriott never disappoints when it comes to amenities and rooms. Our room was on a high floor, with 2 balconies and a partial view of the ocean. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member so we were also upgraded to a deluxe king suite which offered a separate sitting area making the room even bigger and roomier. The hotel and rooms were very clean and modern, as expected from Marriott properties. A major bonus was beach chairs and towels were included as part of the resort fee. We could check out a set every day to take to the beach and return at the end of the day. There was also a Starbucks and a 24/7 convenience store located inside the hotel lobby, which made it a breeze to purchase coffee and supplies whenever needed.

The only drawback for us was really the pool facilities. The hotel had 2 outdoor pools. While it was great that one was adult-only (so no kids running and splashing around or yelling), the pool itself was a major disappointment in terms of size. I would have expected a much larger pool from a 4-star hotel. I have stayed at other Marriott resort hotels and similar hotels from other brand chains and they managed to at least provide a large pool (twice the size of this one). Because of its size, this one would get crowded very quickly even with only 8-10 people in it at a time. While we still had a great time staying here, we'll definitely try a different property next time as we always use the Pool when we stay at a hotel.

The location is within walking distance of Waikiki Beach which was nice! We had a corner junior suite overlooking the beach which was beautiful! The sunset was breathtaking!

Waikiki is a lot like L.A. - I wasn't expecting it to be so loud with motorcycles, revved up cars, music, and partying every night - no matter what day of the week it was! Also, having to swipe your room key card to use the elevator got very old quickly. I watched many visitors having trouble and some panicking to find the right card, etc. I understand due to the city-like area, but it was annoying.

I didn’t like the steak restaurant inside the hotel. The waitress was really rude, and the steak was very fatty and expensive and you barely got any meat. Lots of fat it wasn’t fresh not so happy with the food there and the waiter.. very moody waiter. The manager had to talk to her because people have been complaining about her all day. She must’ve been having a bad day. The manager was amazing. He came out, apologized and told us some great places to explore while we’re there in the discount he saved the day.

This is a huge hotel which at first glance feels a bit impersonal and bland but it’s actually very comfortable, loads of wide spacious areas and the perfect location on the Waikiki strip - at the end of the crazy part and almost next door to the zoo and across the road from the better beaches. Our rooms were great - large, recently renovated and with gorgeous sea views and balconies.

Being told at check in that I had to pay a $300 incidental deposit. I didn't see that anywhere on the website during booking. Even though the funds are released upon checkout, I wasn't prepared for it.

the resort fee is too much per day. especially if you only used the pool once. you need to update your information on what is included in the resort fee. also need to update the cost of breakfast. the continental breakfast is $39 and the full breakfast is $48
