My family and myself booked our stay for 4 nights here, despite the review attached to this listing on booking that claims this place is Disgusting. I must say this place couldn't be farther from Disgusting! I would beg Booking.com to remove that review, this place is super clean, well decorated it has a open and airy feel to it, especially in the front lobby. Having my son with me, I often worry about his safety (most moms do) I was pleasantly surprised by the front and rear doors as they require your room key for entery and exiting. They are staffed in the front lobby at all times. This place has a old been thru some stuff feel to it. And when I came to the front desk this morning to extend our stay for a few more days, I got to meet who I could only assume was the owner. She gave me some history about this location only to learn Marilyn Monroe lived in this building once apon a time when the structure was a apartment building! How exciting! I love the history, and the location is perfect your right there, right in the middle of Hollywood, yet your of the beating trail enough to feel safe and out of the chaos that Hollywood Blvd can bring. I can't say enough good things about the VIP Motel!

There wasn't alot to not like. If I had to give something I will say this. The parking situation. The parking situation is not ideal, and the amount that they charge to park with them is kinda steep in my opinion. However the room rates are low, lower than they could be, so I suppose it's a trade. This place is amazing! And did I mention Chris? She greeted myself when I was checking in and she really is awesome!

The location is fantastic, 5min walking distance to Hollywood Blvd, and all the major tourist attractions, also close to where most of the tour groups leave from. The staff are very friendly and try to help as much as possible. There is a 7 11 at the back of the hotel across Highland Street for things you may have forgotten. Room was clean and bed extremely comfortable.

When checking in you pay a $60 deposit, which is usual, and I was informed it would be reimbursed on check-out, great, but when it came time to it, I was then told 3-5 business days...Not cool. The continental breakfast was not a real thing, Tupperware of cornflakes a continental doesn't make. You can hear people from other rooms and the back exit door closing, but we were on the ground floor

I like the decor, the ambience inside. I like how it is locked down. I like how the ladies are on point with the processes and daily rigmarole. I appreciate an early wake up. I appreciate the check on the room to make sure people aren't going gangbusters. I just appreciate efficiency.

There wasnt anything to not like! I even liked most of the guests flying through. There was another aspect that wasn't expecting. I loved absolutely loved which was there's a front and a back entrance. I absolutely love the location.

What's not to like about this place! It's clean, the staff is friendly, there right off of Hollywood Blvd. Close enough to enjoy the blvd, yet far enough back to feel safe and have some space. They offer a small free breakfast in the morning and they don't bother you, if you need or would like something just ask otherwise they give you your space!

The parking, if I had to pick something that was less than ideal, I'd have to go with the parking situation....

The staff and the area was great. The beds were surprisingly more comfortable than I had expected. Overall, my fiancé and I enjoyed our stay.

When you walked in you could smell smoke, but that was from people smoking out from. The women at the front desk was on top of any smoking in or too close to the property. Pay the deposit in cash. You can get it back faster. Depending on your bank, it may take up to a week like mine.

At the price we paid we cannot complain! We came from staying at Paris, Las Vegas hotel and they allowed us to check in early for only $25, I'm a hotel receptionist and that is unheard of at my work so we were beyond thankful. We are not fussy people so this was very ideal accommodation for us. The staff are lovely and very helpful. Continental breakfast is included and consists of cereal, Crackers and coffee - a few of the other guests were unhappy with the breakfast busy as I said we are not very fussy and we're happy we were offered cereal and coffee :)

The things I didn't like did not relate to the hotel itself, just 1 undesirable guest who was yelling at the receptionist though not hotels fault

Have stayed here before when in Hollywood. Like the position,great walking distance to walk of fame and shops. Clean room comfy bed and pillows.

Preferred to park under shopping centre just for safety reasons with all our luggage. Back alley a little unruly at times.

I'll start with the whole office staff they were wonderful very appeasing and very friendly no attitude whatsoever and they were awesome The manager she was very very nice and accommodating she's a hard-working person I mean she's always on it and I love that place I'm going back

This was my second time booking here. I love this little hotel. It's really pretty with the silver and grey blue ..the rooms are comfy and the bed I had ...OMG THE MATTRESS AND PILLOWS ARE SO SUPER COMFY AND PLUSH. That was definitely a plus with me having arthritis up and down my spine. The staff are really nice and pleasent. I'm still trying to understand why so many disappointments on this hotel, when I've had nothing but beautiful experiences each time!!! Thank you VIP for the awesome rates right in the center of Hollywood!! This is my favorite hotel and the only one I'll book at each time I visit!!

A microwave in the rooms would be awesome, although they are equipped with mini fridge

Great location from the main strip (Hollywood Blvd.)...the room (Rm #104) was spacious, functional, affordable and practical...the batheoom had minor issues but besides not having a kitchenette, the use of what was in the room (Microwave and small fridge) worked...the morning Continental Breakfast was not very impressive but available and at least there was something to eat and drink (Bread, Juice, Instant-Coffee, Milk, Cereal)...the location was secured and locked at all times (Good security protocol measures in place but could be improved), etc.

No laundry facility, my room key kept needing to be reset all the time, the 1st day before check-in was a challenge but resolved.
