Location (5 Stars) We were just in for a night on the return route to Portugal from Orlando. We just needed a hotel for a night so that we could experience New York City for the first time. The hotel was great, we were even able to store our 9 bags of luggage whilst we went out sightseeing before our transfer back to EWR. Breakfast opens early 07:00 which is awesome so we were able to get up and get out nice and early. We had a bonus too as it was snowing in the morning too (Xmas Eve!). And the hot drinks available around the clock was fantastic!

Rooms were comfy but a little small but this is to be expected in a city, especially New York! A single night for 2 adults and 1 x child was a bit pricey but expected for this time of year (December).

Excellent, professional, and friendly desk staff. We were touring FIT and the hotel kept our luggage for us after checkout so we didn't have to worry about it. Great location for touring FIT. Close access to the trains. Walkable to Hamburger America. Nice breakfast and seating area, even with a lot of people in there.

Typical big-city downsides: hard to access by car, which makes it a tough roadtrip destination for college tours. Have to park a block away. Room is 1/3 the size and everything scaled down for city location, where space is everything. If you can stay outside the city and transport in, do it. But the staff really tries to make you feel at home if you do need to stay there. Breakfast and luggage storage were nice services that helped justify a slightly pricey stay, but again, consider the location.

Great location- great staff!

The breakfast selection- very inconsistent. Sounds stupid, but we missed bacon twice by about 8am. By the time we arrived it was all gone and very cheap, poor quality frankfurters instead. Other times, plain bagels had run out with staff saying there was no more by 8/8:30am, likewise with some tea bags which ran out, you could see empty packets in the trash- but staff saying there were no more that day. Just small things like that. Just takes away from the stay.

Breakfast room and lobby were surprisingly large for a Manhattan hotel. Room was clean and comfy. Elevators fast. Apprecaited the extra security keycard usage to use the elevators. So convenient to Penn Station and midtown in general.

Watch your pending transactions! Apparently it is general hotel policy to charge for in-room water bottles, whether used or not. This caused the property to "lose" my credit card authorization, and it appeared I was going to be charged twice for the stay! The manager was able to solve the problem and explain the situation.

The location is perfect for traveling, just 1.5 avenue blocks from Penn Station. Staff was excellent and checked us in early with no extra charge. Elevators were very fast. Everything in room worked, including the USB ports.

Breakfast is just OK, but there's a good variety of food so it's definitely worth it. It's strange that they call your room shortly after you check in to see if it's OK. The phone call was worthless since I couldn't understand the person on the other end. So it completely freaked my wife out when they called later at night—again the caller didn't identify themselves or sound professional. She thought it was someone checking to see if we were out of our room. My wife was sick so she wanted to watch TV and unlike most hotels, there was no program guide and a somewhat limited selection of channels.

You can't beat the location. 1 block away from Penn station. The place was very clean. But the most important thing was the staff. They were super friendly and helpful. We had a situation in our room and it was fixed immediately. Literally we had some coffee downstairs and when we went back up it was resolved.

Maybe the only downside is that the rooms were not very big, which is expected in NYC. I'm not saying I was uncomfortable, I'm just saying they are smaller than in other places.

We were for 4 nights. We were at the breakfast every morning at 8(so I don’t think it was late) and there was not enough warm food for us, the staff was telling us that there is no more left… there was no alternative milk for 2 mornings and no waffle mix one morning and staff at the breakfast wasn’t helpful at all. Apart from that all good.

Nice atmosphere, nice people, my room was clean and efficient!

I’ve had this issue at other hotels but the towels never seem to be fully clean. Luckily I was traveling alone so one of the few towels I was given was less dirty looking than the others. Granted they are white, but I don’t like seeing makeup and other markings on my towels.

It was perfect for a one night stay, even 2 or 3 nights. But only for 1 or 2 people. It was too small for any more.

The sink was small & awkward. I got more water on the floor then on my face when I was washing my makeup off.

Room was rather small, but it was mentioned and not surprising. Breakfast added, although, not a great variety, but very much sufficient for the day start. Coffee, some refreshing drinks, porridge, eggs and bacon/sausages, waffles, bread and butter.

The carpets in the room were not fresh, take flip flops with. No disattached shower.
