Great location, in walking distance from the Aso train station (about 10 minutes). Guest house was clean and comfortable for two nights stay. Our twin room was big enough, with small sofa, so we could relax there. Bus station is next to the train station. Bus to the volcano works on first come - first serve basis, so it is recommended to go to the station slightly in advance, especially during the rush hours. Local onsen is near to the station but it was closed on Monday, so we were not able to visit it.
Big stuffed animal on staircase in front of the door to our room.

Very well equipped, you get anything you need from the microwave and kettle to plates and cups, plus you can also purchase some food directly at the property. Location is fine, 10 min walk to basically anything. Very helpful institutions for buses to Mount Aso, onsens, grocery stores or restaurants, this was a great benefit! The room was spacious and comfortable enough.
There are a lot of rules that should be followed, most of it is common sense though and not really a complication. It tends to get very cold in the spaces where a heater is not on in the winter, so moving to the bathroom or kitchen can be a little chilly. Overall, a great place, and a lovely stay!

It was indeed such a beautiful one night stay.I've met too friendly, lovely people in this guesthouse.A French couple, a French lady traveler and a Taiwanese mother and daughter. We all gathered in the kitchen sharing good laughs, stories and foods before it's time for us all to go to bed. Everyone knows when to keep quiet so as not to disturb anyone during rest time. The place is clean and well maintained. The staff who just dropped by during check-in time and explained everything we want to know, was very friendly and helpful too. It was like a vacation with my true family. It is a good place to stay for large group since you can freely use the kitchen and cook.
I can't think of anything I didn't like here😆 Oh!I wish the bath tub can be use too, because only shower is allowed.I thought of going to the public bath but it gets dark outside so fast, that I decided not to go.

The landlady may be strict on rules (a lot of them), but she was so kind as to let us check in upon arrival at 1pm, even picked us up from the station (her proposal, not our request). Guests respected the rules: the place was full but quiet. The room was definitely bigger than the 7m2 announced, quite spacious in fact, a nice surprise. We did not use the shower but went to the public onsen near the station, a really nice place with indoors bath, outdoors bath and chill area, sauna and cold water bath.
The beds were a bit cumbersome to get into and out of because of the high rim. You do not get to see the outside world because all windows have non transparent glass.

The owner picked me up at the station, which was very helpful, since I arrived quite late. She also explained all the useful details about surroundings, konbinis, onsens, etc. Comfortable bed, soft. Free luggage storage and washing machine. Good location close to the station and onsen. The street is quiet, so if you are lucky with your neighbours like I was, it is really quiet place.
There is only glass and paper dividing you from the neighbours, so when they had their lights on late in the evening, I could not sleep in such light.

Kitchen with tools. Extra pillow available. Decoration, though being greeted by a large tiger everytime I left the room was a bit of a shock at first.
Extra charge for towel, but just 100yen. We were warned about the excessive postage of rules everywhere from other reviews, so were prepared, but still had the feeling that having new guests every day may not have been an ideal business choice by the owner. The matress was too soft and didn't fit the bed well, making it difficult to get out of the bed.

The hostess was very nice and helped with planing our days at aso. Also there is a lot of information provided of the area! The guesthouse itself was very warm, clean, nice and welcoming. The room was clean and the bed was very comfy. Also a few minutes walk from the station and the convenience store. The kitchen was well a quipped.
I wish i could stay more <3

Nice place to enjoy Mt. Aso. Only 10min by walk from Aso station. The room and other facilities are very clean. You can cook by yourself in the public kitchen which has every single kitchen utensil. The host was so friendly and helpful for the visitors. She speaks english very well. She gave us many information about the Mt. Aso and suburb around the Aso. The bed was so comfy so I slept well very much. Wifi was so fast and useful. Highly recommend this place to you.

We really enjoyed our stay at the guesthouse! It is located near the train Station and several restaurants and grocery stores are within walking distance. Tomo-san welcomed us very friendly, showed us the guesthouse and gave us some tipps for our stay. Everything is furnished lovingly and the rooms are stunningly clean! The house is equipped with everything you need and if you have questions, Tomo-san answers quickly. We really felt at home and would definitely come again!
The walls are pretty thin, so you can hear your neighbours snoring and walking, but you can buy earplugs for a small price, so it's basically not a big problem.

Very well organised and clean accommodation. The signs written everywhere are very helpful and not annoying. Plus I loved the Kumamon in the toilet 😍 The owner gave me a lot of info on arrival. There is safe storage with lockers in a separate shed for early arrivals and late departures. Very useful! You can buy cup ramen for 100 yen. An easy walk from the station and to some good restaurants. Comfy beds.
All good!
