The hotel has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains from all rooms as well as the restaurant. We booked a western style room with half board. The Japanese dinner was absolutely amazing. Beautiful presentation and delicious. The breakfast buffet offered a very large choice of mainly Japanese breakfast dishes, but also some bread rolls, butter and jam for those who prefer a western style breakfast.

The hotel can only be reached by car or taxi. There are no other places within walkable distance to go to. The staff serving in the hotel seemed very rushed, and too focused on informing us at what time breakfast and dinner would be finished.

The hotel exceeded my expectations with its room size, much larger than you’d normally find in Japan. The view from the window was so beautiful. The Onsen was great, with multiple pools, and it was never crowded during my stay. At first, I found Onsen experiance unusual because I hadnt looked into what ‘onsen’ actually meant, especially since the room lacked a separate shower and only had a toilet and sink. However, I quickly adjusted to using it as my main bathing option. After my first experience it became my favorite evening ritual. I felt so relaxed afterward and didnt wanted to ever leave. The hotel is also in a great location for visiting nearby historical towns. All in all, it was a lovely, peaceful retreat.

As it’s quite remote with limited public transport options, I’d say having your own car is must for getting around.

We had a twin room and stayed for 2 nights. We loved our stay! The room is spacious with a wonderful view and a balcony. Staff was very friendly and helpful, many speak english. The baths are big and clean, there is also an outdoor bath where colouful trees were around. We had dinner and breakfast too, dinner was kaiseki style and delicious. Breakfast was buffet and mainly japanese style. Also delcious.

The ensuite bath is a bit dated, water pressure not so good. But of course you can use the facilities in the baths.

beautiful view from the room window. Spacious and clean rooms. Baths of different directions. The onsen outside was wonderful. Delicious breakfasts (the view from the window is wonderful). Dinner at the hotel is aesthetic, beautiful, and delicious. But the biggest plus of this hotel is the hotel staff. They are all absolutely wonderful people! Kind, responsive and ready to help solve any problem. Special thanks to the hotel manager Hiroshi Takebuchi for his assistance in everything. Without his help, the holiday would not have been so nice ! After all, when wonderful people work at a hotel, all the disadvantages seem insignificant.

locks on the balcony. There is no cold bath inside the onsen. No Sports club and Spa.

The staff from front desk, reception and restaurant were all very polite and helpful. Was surprised to be offered a birthday present, it was truly a sweet surprise. The front desk and reception staff were very accommodative to my requests. We believed the hotel specially assigned a waitress who could speak English to attend to us at the restaurant. Dinner was superb. We were also pleasantly surprised by the interesting food for breakfast which gave us the opportunity to learn a little about the Hida culture. My husband and I are very happy with the service offered and the cleanliness of the hotel.

Great view of the water from your room, the main hall and the Onsen. The room was clean and spacious and so were the Onsen. We very much enjoyed sitting in our room after a morning soak, having hot green tea and some simple breakfast and chit chatting with the beautiful view right in front of our eyes. All the amenities you can think of for an Onsen hotel are provided and since I got the room at a great price I was very satisfied with the stay!

Nothing I disliked although I wished there was a cold pool in the Onsen.

Property is facing Ena and river which is located at the top of small hill. View from room is fabulous. Clean and big size for 3 persons in group. Futon are great. Onsen is big and good. There is an outdoor onsen put as a bonus. The surrounding area is quiet and property has its own parking so it’s not a problem if you drive. Staff are friendly. Breakfast is just so so. Limited choices. However, the restaurant also has same view of river so it’s enjoyable when having your breakfast.

We arrived early about 13:40 but we were not allowed to have check in until 15:00…

very good hotel, nice view from your room as well as the breakfast dinning room. and breakfast is great, actually the best during my stay in Japan. Staff is far more than friendly. We are a little late for breakfast and when they saw me and my little child come, they tried very hard to make sure my wife can get a good dinner, for example they planned to pack breakfast to my room. I was really touched by their service and attitude.

no bathing facility in the room! you have to go downstairs to get shower, which might be a little awkward for me since I had never been naked before other strangers ... but this is my first Japanese traditional shower experience anyway and it turns out I liked it.

We liked size of the room a lot. Most Japanse hotel rooms are very small but this one was huge. At last some space to put your things and walk around still. Also the view from the room over the lake was really nice. And the onsen was great with a bath outdoor and three baths indoor as well.

The hotel location is a bit from local activity. Some 4-5 km to get to a shop or restaurant

Wonderful place. Amazing view from the window, great room, delicious breakfasts in the morning, a beautiful view from the onsen to the mountains, silence and many beautiful places nearby that are worth visiting. But the main advantage of this hotel is the employees hotel ! They are all just amazing! Thank you very much! And see you soon.
