It's a beautiful guesthouse, more like a cozy home than a hostel in terms of atmosphere, so it may not be the best option for solo travelers looking to socialize. The staff was friendly, and everything was in good order. There is a microwave and hot water, which was convenient. The location is also good. However, it was cold inside—it actually felt even colder than outside. There is an air conditioner, but I don’t like the fan-type heater; it just doesn’t work well for me. Still, I recommend the place overall

Cold inside

The owner was incredibly accommodating. I was given permission to arrive one hour earlier than requested. The home is beautiful and so clean, ai couldn't find a speck of dirt, even the bathroom. The place was easy to find and easy to get to the trailhead of Mt Fuji trail There was no noise surprisingly. Honestly it was the best stay I had this trip, I wish I could have said a proper goodbye to the lovely owner.

It is a beautiful Japanese home, but the stairs are steep. That is my only issue which I can get around. If I could live there, I would.

We loved our stay at Fujiyoshida Hotel. The owner was very sweet and kind, she welcomed us with a warm smile, and kindly let us park the car at the car park. The traditional Japanese room was very clean and lovely, and the place was quiet. The room had a view of the majestic Fuji-san, which allowed us to quickly know whether it was visible or covered before leaving the hotel. We simply loved the experience, I highly recommend it!

The host is incredibly thoughtful and owns a wonderful house, well located in the center of Fujiyoshida. We had a very warm welcome and great advice from our host, who also always kept the surroundings remarkably clean and tended to any of our needs. Our Japanese-style room was the cherry on the top, traditional and functional, comfortable and cozy, cleaner than most hotels.

This has everything that you need, free Wifi, air con, free tea & coffee and is located not far from the station, right on the Main Street, I even had a clear view of Mt Fuji from my window! The host was also so welcoming, friendly and helpful :) (Also, don’t be put off by the fact that there are just mattresses and no bed frames as these were so comfortable and I had an amazing sleep every night I stayed here!)

Despite the name Hostel, it is more like a hotel for me. It is about 15 - 20min walk from Mt. Fuji train station, less than 10 min walk from Gekkouji train station and less than 15min walk from Shimoyoshida train station which makes it a convenient place to stay if you are planning to move around Kawaguchiko, Yamanakako and Fuji Q Highlands. Coffee and tea are provided and you can use the microwave oven to heat up the food if necessary. The place is a traditional Japanese house which the rooms are in the first floor. It is wooden building and the floors are with tatami. It is a great experience if you are looking to stay in a Japanese's house. The host is very friendly and able to communicate in basic English. If you like a quiet stay, this is definitely a good option. I will definitely consider this place again if i ever come to Fuji. The Chureito Pagoda which is opposite Shimoyoshida station is within 20min walk from the hostel (to the entrance not including hiking time).

The proprietor was very friendly and helpful, everything was immaculate and well supplied, and we had lots of space to stretch out. It was a great place to stay with a group of friends - there was plenty of space for us to spend a rainy evening together watching TV on the tatami in one of the rooms. It's also not too far from the station - a little bit of a walk but a very pleasant one. I just want to emphasise how wholesome our host was - she was very personable and made us feel so welcome.

I really like the the japanese style tatami mat rooms! Its really comfortable, very clean, and exceeded my expectations, very recommended!!

I didn't like how hard it is to look for this hostel when you're in the area, I got lost for abit. It is quite hidden in a small alley way but you will get used to it!

The Hostel is really nice, and the best for quality/ price. We had a room for two in Japanese style, with comfy beds ( and towels were provided. Everything by the way had a really nice clean perfume). The bathroom are in common but every ti omg is perfectly clean and there’s a nice privacy. The lady welcomed us really homely and she was really kind: she also helped us speaking with the airport for our lost luggage.

Obviously you cannot expect an hotel, but the quality/ price is unbeatable

The youth hostel is very easy to find, just off the Main Street when you leave the train station. The woman who runs the hostel was extremely friendly and welcoming and let us keep our bags there while we walked around town for a few hours. When it was time to check in, everything was very easy and we could pay with credit card. She showed us to our room and the rest of the facilities in the guest house. It is a very nice cozy house and we had the best sleep ever there. Definitely recommend!
