Great location with a great view, very clean, and extremely friendly staff. The beds were comfortable, and the hostel was perfect for a short stay due to its location and reasonable price.

Incredibly moody, unfriendly owner. He was rude and condescending to both his staff and guests (not to their faces, of course). A little tip: if you don't want people staying in the hostel ten minutes before checkout, then change the checkout to 10. But I don't want to be annoyed that there are still a few people here. This review primarily goes to the staff, so to all guests: if you see the owner, just put on some earplugs, then you'll have peace and quiet. And be especially nice to the staff; the owner isn't. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth when you consider that, as a non-Japanese, he's just a guest at the end of the day as well.

What my wife and i liked about the Hostel, was, that its close to a train station (5 min walk), lots of small restaurant, cafes and small shops (like for tea or for clothing) are nearby, even a 7/11 is very close (also around 5 min walk) Our stay in the Hostel was very cozy, we had booked a room with tatami mats and futon bed for ourselves. It was very spacious as we were able to also leave our big luggage (2 suitcases each 20kg) in our room. The Owner of the Hostel has a big knowledge about the area, such as where to go, what to do, and many other recomendations. We will definetly come back

Only thing that would be negative is that my wifes hairblower didnt work in the blower. Maybe it was about the voltage difference.

This is probably the cheapest hostel in fujiyoshida. The room for a couple is a small room with a bunk bed and shared toilets. The hostel is clean and have a microwave and refrigerator. it's a 6 minutes walk from the train station that takes you to the Fuji-Q Highland park. 5 minutes walk to a 7/11.

The room is very small, there is hardly any room to move, the mattress was comfortable but the bunk bed above creaked with every movement, which made it difficult to sleep. It's a 12 minute walk from the main bus station.

Very well organised hostel well located in Fujiyoshida. It is well situated very close to the station and a short walk to all the tourist hotspots. Particularly useful for a quick walk to the Chureito Pagoda when the skies oblige. The start of the Fuji yoshida trail is around 45 minutes away on foot. A convenience store around a five minutes walk towards the station. The staff were all very helpful and provided clarity on onward travel options. All English speaking and knowledgeable, not to mention friendly. The actual facilities were better than expected with a nice balcony allowing for watching Fuji at all times, watching the lights at night on the mountain is a bonus. The dorms are well organized and wifi consistent throughout. The beds are comfortable and surprisingly private and large lockers provided for bags to avoid annoying other guests. Very clean and well maintained the hostel provides an ideal base for independent exploration of the Fuji area. We ate twice in the Phillipine restaurant near the station which we enjoyed for something different and satisfying.

People who insist on putting their large rucksacks in the dorms and endlessly rustling plastic bags when packing and unpacking.

A very comfortable hostel in a great, central location - a one-minute walk from the iconic Fuji-san street view. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They asked every day if everything was OK and if I had any questions. The bunk bed was the best I've ever had in Japan - strong curtains that went all the way round, and had press studs to close the curtains. The kitchen and showers were well equipped. Free tea and coffee. Lots of information about what to do and transport links.

Clean. I stayed at a single room for one, very comfortable and warm. Laundry service also pretty great. There is one small restaurant in front of the hostel, serves great fish! I enjoyed my stay here.

Eventhough it’s only like a few stations away from the main hotspot, the train frequency isn’t that great. They come every 30 minutes. So if you miss one, then you’re just going to waste 30mins waiting. And they don’t have screen announcement, so please be aware of what train you’re taking. Also, the area is pretty dead. Idk if it’s because of winter or what so yeah. Only one restaurant opens.

I loved the environment, there were even some games available. Great bathroom area and good washing machines, and even free coffee and tea. There is a view for mount Fuji, though a bit covered by other buildings, is excellent and made me happy when I opened the curtains in the morning.

I thought I had booked for a price but in the end, it was different. Of course I should've checked earlier, but still a bit disappointing.

Great location, nice facilities, clean and cozy room, staffs are really friendly and helpful. During my stay, there was a heavy snow and my bus to Shizuoka was cancelled due to the weather. Michael and Sierra tried their best to help me to find a way to get to Shizuoka on time, and made it. Thank you Michael and Sierra! It was my pleasure to stay there and hope to see you again :)

The staff member is super friendly and supportive. I got a message one week before travel with detailed information of how I can reach that place by various transportations options and it was really helpful. Also, the view from hostel is amazing. I could see Mt. Fuji right straight from hostel balcony and it was amazing experience, waking up and checking the view right straight from the bed. The hostel also is located in a great area which allows to explore many things.

Mt. Fuji Hostel Michael’s is a family-run hostel that is spotless and really cozy. The owners speak perfect English, so communication was easy. They were very helpful with signposting to relevant locations and giving tips for climbing Mt. Fuji. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone.
