Clean largish room with only a very short walk to the station. Our room had a view of the Castle , which was nice to wake up to every morning. We always stay in Roynet Hotels where possible as they have have a common rigid standard of cleanliness with fantastic staff in all areas.

The pillows at most Japanese hotels are hard as rocks, they all seem to be filled with type of grain, maybe oats, and if you only use the one supplied it flattens out overnight. We always ask for another, which is kindly and promptly produced. Maybe us westerners are too soft. 😀

This place really surprised me and turned into one of the most memorable stays on my trip. I got the castle view room and it was such a stunning view! I read a lot of reviews about this being a great place for a stopover, and that's exactly what I used it for but I now wish I stayed longer. It was a perfect spot for my island day trip since it's less than a minute walk from both the bus terminal and Fukuyama station (where the Shinkansens stop at). There's also plenty of restaurants and areas to explore within walking distance. The hotel room itself was clean and tidy, with a modern bathroom. It was very comfortable for a solo traveller.

Nothing - everything I experienced on this stay was perfect. But do note that I didn't have the hotel breakfast nor wanted any further amenities.

It is seldom that one is able to give an excellent rating for accommodation, but here is one case where one can. Everything about the Daiwa Roynet Hotel Fukuyama Ekimae was superb. First impressions of the professionalism of the reception staff turned out to be correct. They even efficiently sent on our suitcases to the airport for us, producing a weighing scale for the purpose. The rooms were recently fitted out and were clean and very generously sized and well thought out. Bathroom and shower were excellent, and bathroom items were available to pick up near the reception desk on the ground floor. Bedroom lighting was excellent. Beds were very comfortable. View of ekimae and Fukuyama Castle behind the station incomparable. The cafe/restaurant adjoining the hotel was also very good. It was large and perhaps a bit station-ey, but bright and the food and coffee were prompt and good and there were plenty of places to sit. For once, we can give top marks to a hotel. Well done, Daiwa Roynet Hotel Fukuyama Ekimae!

It is right across the street from the station. We were on the 14th floor facing the castle. The room was very spacious for 3 adults and provided a spectacular view of the castle at night. In addition the Shinkansen travelled right below us. So fun to watch.

The cumbersomeness of the check-in process with clerks that speak no English. After a few iterations of hearing the same Japanese explanation the clerk went to the machine to show us how to check in.

The hotel is very near the station. The staff is super friendly. I had a room with castle view, which was super nice. You can see the castle and also the shinkansen station from above You get an prearranged breakfast which is very good. At least the japanese option :).

The carpet in the room was worn out which looked a little dirty

Modern, fresh feeling hotel next to train station. Room had a great view of Fukuyama Castle. Many eateries nearby. Staff is friendly and always helpful. Small but well designed room and bath.

The bed is very, very firm, not comfortable. Japanese hotel beds, generally, are firm but this one feels extra firm and hollow. It was difficult to rest well.

Absolutely gorgeous view of the Fukuyama Castle from the room. Helpful and efficient front desk staff. Great location near the train station, fast food, and shopping centers. Nice breakfast with quick service.

The room was very small, which was fine by me but might not be your cup of tea if you're the kind of traveler who likes being able to walk around your bed. The bed itself was not the most comfortable, the mattress was a pretty hard spring mattress.

We stayed overnight before doing the Shimanami Kaido trail and it was a perfect place to stop before we head out the next morning. The location is so convenient - right next to the train station. And it was a nice surprise to have a massage chair in our room!

We stayed here for a number of occasions and we always like it. Hotel is located right next to Fukuyama station and easy to get around. There are a number of restaurants, bars etc within walking distance. It's clean and very comfortable room.

It's my first time to visit to fukuyama, the staff of this hotel is quite good and friendly when checking-in, location is sooo good, about 2-3 minutes-walk from fukuyama station, very convenient to go anywhere by bus or by train. Room is big and clean, better than i expected. Highly recommended, I hope i will come visit again. :)
