Perfect location - close to the station and even closer to the start of the cycle route. Such a cool decor. Great breakfast. So handy for renting a bike. We booked it very last minute and it turned out to be one of our favourite stays of our Japan trip.

The Hotel Cycle exceeded expectations! My husband and I were travelling with our 2 older teenagers and planned to do the Shiminami Kaido. The Hotel Cycle has a cool hipster vibe, a modern warehouse conversion by the harbour. We booked 2 x twin rooms and they were an excellent side, the bathroom had both a bath and a shower. The breakfast was excellent and had a great selection of food on a buffet plus a hot dish that you ordered at the table. The hotel had a bar and does an awesome Negroni with a Japanese twist and it was the first hotel we have stayed at in Japan that offered good wine by the glass in the restaurant and bar. We ate at the hotel one evening, and the food was excellent. The hotel has self-service laundry facilities that we used after our ride. I highly recommend this hotel.

The bedroom doesn't have bright lighting so is a bit dim.

The room was very stylish and gave off a premium feel. With comfy beds and places to store all your luggage, it made staying at Hotel Cycle very pleasant. The shops and restaurants attached to the hotel also made it a very accessible stay. We stayed here mainly to do the cycle the Shimanami Kaido, so being so close to the port was also a plus. Would highly recommend grabbing a drink on the patio, has a great view of the water

Room was kind of dim, so all the lights had to be turned on. The bathtub could also be better designed, as taking showers made the entire floor wet, due to it spilling out from the edges

An excellent place to stay if you are cycling the Shimanami Kaido, just a 2-minute ride down the boardwalk to the ferry. A modern hotel with a cycling theme, all concrete, metal, and wood, occupying half of the U2 building. The other half includes a Giant shop. The room was large, and the bed extremely comfortable. I really liked the tiled bath. I was amused by the bike rack on the wall, and all the bicycles on display in the public areas. Breakfast in the café was a choice of three main dishes plus bread, salad, and drinks. I didn't arrive in time for dinner.

I would have liked to have spent more than 10 hours there!

We really enjoyed this hotel--we were using this as a spot to start the Shimanami Kaido. I would maybe liked coming back here for the second night, after the ride, but we chose to stay at the town where the ride ends, since it made more sense logistically. The hotel is really nice--nicely appointed rooms, very comfortable beds, a helpful laundry room, wonderful staff and a great breakfast. They forwarded our luggage too, which was helpful. A helpful member of the staff (Socki) went above and beyond and made a phone call for us, to help us plan our next leg of the itinerary (what train to take the following day to connect with a ferry we needed to get to)--it was quite helpful to us.

The location of the Hotel Cycle is perfect. on the waterfront and a 7 minute walk from the train station. The bakery is wonderful for all your breakfast or afternoon needs to enjoy either inside or in the sunny promenade. Highly recommend the restaurant, service, food fabulous and make sure to have fruit gin and tonic. Comfortable beds, washing machines on site and a big deep bath for soaking after a day or twos bike riding. All staff amazing from the people at the front reception desk to the staff in the restaurant. Don’t miss this town and place on your next trip to Japan.

I feel comfortable and safe at this hotel. The area is very beautiful. It is conveniently located near the train station. I had breakfast at the hotel every day. This was a delicious buffet style breakfast that I loved. There is a great bakery and food store inside the hotel.

I think I liked everything. The only thing is not in the hotel's control. The shinkansen stops at the station before or after and requires and extra step to the hotel either by bus or a local train from Mihara.

The staff is excellent. The room and entire hotel was very well designed. Great location. Special hotel. A cut above.

Very minor things that could be improved. Their key system needs updating. They use an actual key attached to a brass piece. They only give you one. If you have two people that want to go do different things, you have to leave the key at the desk. It's just not a great system. The other thing is the tub. I found it difficult to shower. I had to sit in the tub. It was not ideal.

Hotel is housed in a very unique complex which you could find flower shop, cafes, cellars, etc. Guests can rent various types of bikes (some are very professional models) from the Hotel despite there is a bike rental shop, Giant, inside the complex. Breakfast was excellent. Staff was also very helpful. They can tune the bikes and arrange baggage delivery for the guests. The hotel has a very contemporary and minimalistic look. Guests can sit outside and enjoy the peaceful harbor view. It's also very close to the JP station.

Great hotel for cycling the Shimanami Kaido, we really loved the place and the staff were fantastic. As an Aussie who travels the world a lot with the family and our bikes, some things to potentially help others as detailed info is a bit hard to come by. Do not bring your own bike! Hire options are plenty and if you bring your own there is no option to get back from Imabari with your bike. If you do bring your own bike the Sedota Port Ferry is your only option back - cash only. Yamato is your friend, do not travel with your luggage in Japan (or your bikes either) - but if you want them to transport your bike - keep the combined dimensions of your bike bag under 2metres (length + breadth + height) The hotel is super helpful and there is Giant in the hotel and plenty of places along the front board walk to hire bikes from. They were all surprisingly good bikes in great condition too.

We went late September and it was still unbearbaly hot (38°C most days) , everyone told us this was not typical and the heat broke a few days after we left. Its like Brisbane hot - gets hot early and the sun was intense.... We rode early and got the first ferry across to the trail every morning at 6:06am and were out of the sun by 9:30-10am.
