Good location, on the opposite side (from the train station) of the more comercial area with the shopping streets. There is a Lawson convenience store next to the hotel, and supermarkets, regular restaurants and fast food restaurants nearby. The shuttle bus service, which requires reservation, was really nice, as it can be used to go from the hotel to the station or from the hotel to the onsen "Poppo no yu" and back. Getting the tickets for the onsen at the hotel reception was cheaper than at the onsen entrance. The room was clean and the amenities (sleeping robes, towels, toothbrushes etc.) were as one would expect from this type of hotel.

This is mostly about bad timing, I suppose, but the fire alarm rung during the stay and it took some time until there was any announcement from the hotel. There are 3 emergency stairs, but one of them is locked. Apparently there was no fire or anything unusual at the time, it might have been just the smoke detector in some room reacting to steam from an electric kettle or the shower, but still the people on the floor I was staying were unsure about what to do.

The hotel is a little further from the train station then some of the other hotels but had better rates for the period we were staying. We walk a lot so weren't worried about the distance but also ended up using the free shuttle bus several times without a hitch. The hotel itself seemed quite new and lovely room and facilities, we enjoyed the on site bar with a view a couple times during our stay.

Nothing negative to report.

- Very friendly staff right from the moment you get to the door. - Easy check-in and check-out. - Room slightly bigger than other hotels in Japan. - Very comfortable bed, I had a great sleep. - For those doing the Shimanami Kaido, this hotel participates in the baggage transfer program and my luggage made it to my next hotel safe and sound.

- The location is a bit out of the way from the main area of town. But I knew this going in, so don't count it against the hotel.

The room is very clean, there's a nice basement that's clean and organized for you to park your bicycles. It's fairly near to the Onomichi Train station, about a 5-10mins cycle away so that's convenient.

The language barrier was a bit of an issue. But this is not solely on the hotel but more of the country as a whole. Lucky for us, there was 1 guy that spoke english and 1 lady that spoke mandarin which we were able to converse with.

Spacious and very comfortable room, view to the waterfront, nearby Lawson, in a walking distance also some larger supermarkets, top floor has a bar. Hotel offers free shuttle bus to and from train station, only needs to request beforehand. Onomichi is a very quite and little town. Nearby harbor.

Hotel is located a bit outside of the city main attractions.

Excellent Japanese breakfast. The shuttle bus back to the station was helpful as it was a trek walking there with luggage. It's a classic business hotel with lots of business types conferencing. The lobby was being renewed when we visited and was a minor building site, but it'll be finished soon and should be nicer.

The staff was very attentive and kind, it certainly surpassed my expectations. The location was good and there is a convenience store next to it. Also as a cyclist, I liked that there was parking for bikes.

Nothing. Maybe that the mini fridge was noisy but there was a switch to turn it off

It is an upper-class business hotel. More the classic kind, but with splendid service of an very old school type. We felt like special guests, although we just stayed one night, and booked a standard room. Very nice experience.

For some, the rooms might be a little bit cramped, but we didn't mind at all. It was non the less a pleasant stay.

Hotel was clean and nice. Despite not being able to speak English well, the staff were very patient with me and tried their best to ensure I had a wonderful stay

The place was a little far from Onomichi JR station, and thus food options, but it was close enough to the bike rental station.

Close to the piers, town , the train station and our son’s apartment.

I couldn’t quite work out if there was any restaurant for breakfast. That would have been helpful. And no milk in the fridge to make my coffee.
