Nice rooms with a great view of the bay. Very good value for money and the man running the hostel was very kind and helpful, always willing to ring us a taxi when we needed one. I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely consider staying here again next time I'm in the area.

Whilst the location has a great view of the bay it is kinda hard to reach without a taxi (or bike). Thankfully, taxis in onimichi are cheap 2 to 3 thousand yen depending on if your driver takes the ferry. So it's not a big issue. Prepare for a long walk though if you decide to take public transport to the hostel.

If you decide to stay in Mukaishima for relaxation or even the shimanami kaido this is the place to be. The owner is incredibly friendly and helpful and really goes the extra mile to ensure that the guests are satisfied. It feels like being part of a family. The room is also very spacious with all necessary amenities, all be it with a homely feeling. The outdoor area also has many features including a playground picknick tables and much more. My expectations were certainly surpassed!

Super clean, spacious, great hosts, nice scenic lighthouse very close by and few people (nice and quiet) Note: next to a shipping lane, so there may be some early morning engine sounds, didn't bother me though.

I stayed at quite a few places during my 3 weeks in Japan and this was easily one of my favourite. The owners are so nice and friendly, there's some really stunning views and my room was spotless and well equipped for my short stay. I only wish I could have stayed a little longer. Next time, I will.

Fantastic view, very cozy rooms, and a quite accessible location from the main island and to the other nearby islands if you have a car. A full kitchen is also a huge plus! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful, relaxing atmosphere/vibe, and plenty of parking.

WiFi signal was occasionally flakey, and slightly confusing location at first.

The location is tricky in that it is a more than 2km walk from the Mukaishima ferry. If you are cycling it’s fine but walking with a suitcase means you probably have to get a taxi from the ferry.

Just be aware that if you came by train you need to catch a ferry across to the island of Mukushima and then take a taxi. We would not have been able to find it without help.

My apartment was simply superb. Very big, comfortable and homely. Welcoming staff and relaxed vibe. Lots of parking. Location on the inlet is interesting with lots of shipping to watch.

A bit hard to get to town but the ferry across is cheap and easy (need to walk to it).

No food options nearby; you’ll need to hit the nearest supermarket or conbini for that. Also, cafe has closed (apparently). And it is very remote - hidden behind a commercial shipyard.

We rode the Shimanami Kaido. This hotel is near the Onominchi side. Very clean. The owner met us when we rode up and helped us find food and even gave us chopsticks when we got back from buying food and realized we had nothing to eat with. Water boiler and refrigerator. Great view. Balcony. Off the path so very quiet.
