The hotel is closed to the station and the bus stop. The room is much quite big compared with other hotels. Staff are professional and very polite and helpful. All toiletries are DHC brand. I like the shampoo. Super good quality.

It is an old but traditional hotel. You can see the furnitures, facilities, toilet, and carpet are kind of vintage style. But you can also imagine how it were glorious 20-30 years ago.

This hotel was a fantastic choice, especially for its convenient location near the station where the Shinkansen arrives. It truly exceeded my expectations in several ways. The breakfast was outstanding—there was a wide variety of delicious food, including plenty of fresh fruit, and the service was top-notch. The staff were incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help me with my luggage since there was no elevator, which I really appreciated. The room was spacious and comfortable, with a super cozy bed, and they provided fresh towels every day. The hotel is situated in a lovely area with many restaurants and cafes nearby, plus a scenic lake for a relaxing stroll. I would definitely stay here again!

This location was prime. It was right off the main road and tucked into the woods a little. I ended up walking down the path leading away from the main road and it was BEAUTIFUL! Location, Location, Location. I had to book this location last minute because of change of plans. I ended up getting the family room even though it was only me because it was their only availabilty but it would've been perfect for a family! Nice and large.

We had a large comfortable room. There was laundry and bike rental. The breakfast was extra. and we were a bit late so missed out on some things but it had a wide selection. It's walking distance from the train station. Just a block away you are into quiet tree lined lanes. It's beside an art gallery where we had an excellent lunch.

The hotel combines Western with Eastern amenities, such as a large bathtub and large room with comfortable duvets. The hotel also practices omotenashi well (meaning to wholeheartedly look after guests), with hot water and heated room already prepared prior to check-in and a free coffee and tea service.

Check-in before 3 pm was not permitted, but I was able to lock my bags and go explore the village. The last order for breakfast was 8:45 am.

- Getting around the hotel can be abit of a maze due to the addition of new buildngs. - The tablet that manages private bath bookings isn't updated to reflect the addition of the new hotel wing. Hence the recommendations for the closest baths to your room are outdated. Check the locations of the nearest bath to your room via the hotel map to save on walking the hotel end to end! - Some guests tend to overstay their private bath booking timings and eat into the next. Though not sure if there's anything the hotel can do!

Although a bit far from the station, the clean, cozy rooms and the attentive, polite staff make this hotel very easy to recommend. They also provide a bicycle rental service that is considerably cheaper and more convenient than the nearby shops, especially those near the station. An overall amazing choice for a stay in Karuizawa.

This hotel has old world charm, and the location is excellent. It is within walking distance to the Prince Shopping Mall, several small shops, cafes, museums, parks, hiking trails & Ginza Street. Also, the bathroom is spacious by Japanese standards, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

The carpet in the room was very old and needs replacing. We found it a little warm in the room but were provided with a fan and with it and us opening the window, the room was comfortable. It was a little pricey, but we stayed during Golden Week so that was not surprising really.

One of the BIGGEST room we ever lived in for a hotel in Japan - very satisfying. The hotel staffs are also very friendly and helpful. Location is great and a stone's throw from places of interest.

Could not think of anything except maybe the car parks can be better managed?
