This little Ryokan-style hotel was so nice that I missed it very much after leaving Kusatsu Onsen. I have stayed in a total of 14-16 hotels all over Japan by now (over the years) and this is easily one of the best (if not the very best). I appreciated the vegetarian breakfast very much: it was very elegant as well as nutritious. They also checked the ingredients with me. The wide Tatami mat area exceeded expectations: I could relax with panoramic views of the snow capped mountains while dining or just working (digital nomad-ing was easy with fast wifi). There were many drawers and cupboards: storage space was never an issue. The Toto Smart toilet was more advanced than those variants in 5-Star hotels. The hotel is proximate to all the important places and just opposite the bus stand: I only just had to cross the road with my luggage. I also discovered multiple short routes to Yubatake every single day (I stayed for three days). The same family/organisation also operates the Yume Hana restaurant next door and guests of Oyado Yukizumi receive a complimentary beverage service while dining in Yume Hana. The Yukata they provide is very nice and I wore the same to the main Onsens in the area. The staff are very caring and kind hearted, for example, when I was leaving, seeing that it was raining, they asked me to take their umbrella with me (I declined the same). Later, I missed the level of kindness and attention to each individual guest I received while staying here - that is something you will not get from large branded hotels. Thank you, Oyado Yukizumi, I was very touched.

This is just for those who might not have taken note: this hotel does not have an individual shower-room: you have to use the gender segregated communal bath/Onsen to take a bath. In the room, you have a private (exclusive) sink for brushing and hand washing + a Toto smart toilet, just not a shower/tub. This makes sense given what Kusatsu Onsen is known for.

This guesthouse is hidden gem during our 2 night stay at Kusatsu onsen with only 7-8 rooms & the environment is very cozy. The guesthouse was newly renovated & everything like new. We booked 4pax stay & the rooms condition is excellent. The staff service is good. We love it very much the onsen facility on this guesthouse. Breakfast provided were excellent. Nevertheless, this guesthouse is highly recommend during your visit to Kusatsu Onsen.

The negative part is our room do not have private bath room only can take shower on onsen area but no big deal because not much guess in this guess house only 8 rooms.

This ryokan exceeded all our expectations. Located in the heart of Kusatsu Onsen, it provided easy access to the town centre and bus station. The staff were exceptional, very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The hotel itself was spotless, and our room was spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. We really enjoyed their breakfast. We stayed there 2 nights and it was different both mornings. A special highlight was being able to enjoy the onsen without any issues despite having tattoos that I can't cover.

Honestly, I can't think of anything I disliked about our stay. It was perfect!

Convenient location with clean and spacious room. Although breakfast was served in the room, it was quite delicious and well presented.

Parking. Impossible to locate if you do not read Japanese. Everything else has met expectations and consistent with other reviews.

Amazing little room. Great location: only 5 minutes walk from the main city centre onsen attraction. Attached is a parking lot. Delicious breakfast is served into your room based on your desired time. The staff is very nice, kind, welcoming and helpful. A wonderful young lady was very kind to help us with everything. Even walking with us outside to show us our parking place. I highly recommend this accommodation.

Nothing was wrong.

Everything was good. The Staff, Location, the room, the onsen, breakfast...all are wonderful. I have problem with my heavy luggage but the nice young female staff helped me. The hotel is right across Kusatsu bus terminal (less then 1 minute walk), and there is a 2-minutes-walk shortcut to Yubatake. There is a convenience store right in front and a restaurant next door. There is no shower or bathtub in the toilet in guest-room. But who needs those when you have an onsen with showering area.

No elevator but staff will help you with heavy luggage. The hotel has only 2 floors so most people will have no problem.

Beautiful onsen, wonderful obliging and friendly staff, perfect location close to the Yuba, bus station, supermarket and the open onsen park. A very nice restaurant right next door as well with oishi soba as well a Lawson downstairs. It was snowing and cold when we were there so this convenience was a godsend. Supermarket also had very nice cooked food. A really wonderful stay. Kusatsu is a very beautiful town. I would highly recommend this accommodation and the breakfasts were superb, really special and beautifully presented.

First thing we noticed was the big room compared to other hotels with a comfortable bed. The staff were excellent when we checked in and when we got our breakfast which was quite nice as well (although felt a bit high in sugar/carbohydrates). The public bath was very nice, the water was very hot compared to other hotels but enjoyable. The hotel is also located directly next to the bus station and above a supermarket and nearby all the sights.

This place has gorgeous rooms that are amazing in a functional way. Walking into the room, I thought "wow, I wish my place was like this." Soft close doors and cabinets. Fancy toilet that has motion sensor. Dimable lights. Separate door to the bedroom. If you book here, you cannot go without the breakfast option. Every item is soooo good. Bed smells clean too. Feels new

Best Japanese hospitality! Family owned ryokan like place. When we got there they served us tea and warabi mochi in the room which was very nice. The breakfast was also served in the room and they prepared us a thoughtful vegan breakfast at our request. I loved the little details in the room, everything you could find useful was there. The staff was kind and the price was affordable for the experience.

The parking was difficult to find, it was a public parking opposite the hotel. They give you a parking ticket which is only from 3pm to 10am the day you checkout. We came 5 min earlier (at 14:55) and we had to pay extra for the parking. We didn’t know the system as we couldn’t find the details on booking.
