we arrived late as one highway was blocked due to the tsunami warning. luckily we arrived at hotel within the check-in time. the staff was helpful when we asked them about restaurants we could go. the rooms are clean. there are some restaurants nearby but they closed early, maybe due to the tsunami warning. there is a supermarket nearby too but it's also closed. luckily there was a convenience store, that wasnt far. there is a microwave in the lobby and free snacks and drinks there too. there are ice-cream and cup-noodles sold near the check-in counter. overall we enjoyed our stay.

Though in term of facilities provided by the hotel are lacking e.g. onsen or onsite parking, its spacious room with a view of Hakodate ropeway, the room cleanliness and the staff who provided a friendly and excellent service with their prompt action to our requests have given me and my family an exceptional & enjoyable stay at Hakodate. And it is located close to hakodate ropeway and tram stop. A great location to walk around Motomachi area to see the churches & red brick warehouse. We are delighted to be able to see cherry blossoms and enjoy the local carnival at Hakodate Park that is walkable from the hotel.

Size of the rooms were fantastic as well as the bathroom.
The constant talk of cleaning, somehow the hotel industry has embraced the lack of cleaning past the pandemic to push for more profits. I’m paying for a hotel room, which should include a made bed and change sheets daily. During my stay, I was told they would not change my sheets. I need to put out my towels, Daily and my trash cans. Make my own bed if I wanted to. Am I working for you now? I thought I was on vacation.

The breakfast was honestly one of the best things I have eaten during my time in Japan. I could taste how fresh the ingredients were. The hotel staff were kind and helpful. The hotel was at a splendid location as it was very close to the cable car that goes to Mount Hakodate, which had a beautiful view. It was also close to a lovely-looking church at the top of the hill. I definitely would go back during my holidays again.
It's situated on the outskirts, so for those who prefer modern shopping, take note that there are no nearby malls. The closest one would be a 2 hour walk away.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. This hotel had a great lobby/lounge area where I could sit in the morning and wait for the rest of my family to wake up. They had free coffee, juice and snacks in the afternoon which we all appreciated. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We also loved the location. It was close to Mt Hakodate, good shops and right on the tramway. Also we really appreciated the free use of the washing machine and dryer. I also liked that we got fresh towels and amenities every day, but they did not disturb us to clean the rooms. We stayed three nights and enjoyed being there for all of them.
The beds were hard, but I think that is just a Japanese thing as all the beds on my trip so far have been hard.

- Perfect location in a quiet area of Hakodate with the city tram station nearby and lots of places to eat, coffee, etc. 24/7 shop is also near. - The room was awesome. Really loved it. - Helpful staff.
This one is more of a suggestion rather than dislike: - The smoking place is outside which is totally fine. However, it is not equipped even with a simple trash bin or stand. I used my portable ashtray no problem but I noticed some cigarette butts on the ground from less conscious guests. It’s a shame some tourists turn such a nice place into a dirty mess. Hopefully, a trash bin could be installed to avoid this.

We loved the coziness of the hotel. As soon as you enter you’ll see how quaint and homey the lobby is - it just makes you feel at home. We loved the thoughtfulness of putting a massage chair in the common area of our floor and serving tea, coffee, and juice every afternoon from 3pm-9pm. Staff is also very nice and friendly. Property is located near a 7-11 and the tram. It’s walking distance (7-10mins from the brick warehouses) Room is spacious and very clean. Would definitely love to stay here next time

Great location to explore the older areas of Hakodate - It's only two tram stops away from Hakodate station, and is within comfortable walking distance of the Red Brick Warehouses, the Mt Hakodate Ropeway station, as well as the numerous historic quarter museums/attractions such as the Old Public Hall and the Old British Consulate. The staff were very kind - I arrived around 2 hours before the stated check-in time, fully prepared to store my bag at reception and return later, but they informed me my room was already ready and I could check in, which was great! I also kept my suitcase on the day I was leaving as I had a significant chunk of the morning and early afternoon before my train, and they accommodated this. The room was great - I chose a Japanese-style room in a curious triangular layout (it actually overlooks part of the lobby) which was very comfortable. There was some wear and tear in places but nothing untoward - everything was clean and tidy and in great working order. The lobby was very nice and there were various things such as vending machines (including alcohol), ice-cream freezers, and toys in a comfortable but classy setting. They also offered breakfast from a nearby farm-to-table cafe which looked delicious but I was unable to try due to my busy schedule.
One of the windows in the room was suffering some kind of condensation or leak problem - it was very cold and wet to the touch (I visited in mid-December and there was plenty of snow on the ground) and the staff had packed towels underneath it to prevent any further leakage, plus a sign that said do not open. Unsure if this was just a temporary issue, but it was a bit drafty and it felt like it was causing the carpet directly underneath the window to be damp. Hopefully fixable, and didn't cause me much concern as it was -15 outside so I wasn't planning to open it anyway, but a little unexpected to see.

The location was very convenient for exploring Motomachi and the port area. We were placed in an upgraded room which was larger. Overall, the hotel was very clean and tidy, and had a bit of interesting character that was fun (you cannot miss the building from outside).
Luckily we didn't have much, but getting here from the JR station with luggage can be difficult as the tram is only one car and there is a bit of a walk on each end.

This was the biggest hotel room I've ever had in Japan. I didn't even expect it to be that, I was very surprised when I first entered. Had an infrared-cabin built into the room. Massive main room with a large double-bed. AC and several heaters plus an air humidifier already in the room. Very comfy bed. Incredibly value.
Location is not the greatest, bit of a walk to the tram station. Not a problem for me, but worth calling out.
