The host was super kind, warm, and helpful and made our stay very pleasant. The building itself was really beautiful and larger than it seems at first. The room was immaculately clean and the futons were extremely comfortable. The bathrooms were spotless and the shower/ bathroom has a small laundry area and lots of place to change/ dress in a dry place. The coin-operated washing machine and dryer worked perfectly and actually dried my clothes without leaving it damp. The location is also really convenient and in a beautiful area in town, just 15min walk from the fish market/ JR station and aboit 1km to the Orthodox Church and the park. You can't miss the bay while walking there too. I highly recommend this place and if I ever visit Hakodate again, I would stay at this place again. It really exceeded my expectations and was so reasonably priced too.

Our hosts were wonderful! They were super friendly and welcoming, and happy to chat with us in Japanese despite our rough language skills. They drove us to the train station with our luggage when we checked out and even surprised us with a small gift. The Japanese style room was spacious, easy to make dark for sleeping and well temperature controlled, and the futons were comfortable. The upstairs lounge was nice for sitting and had hot water for tea and coffee. The whole house, especially the downstairs, was covered in unique and delightful decorations! Every surface had something charming, and the upstairs guest spaces had enough to delight but not so many that it interfered with using the space. The location is a bit far from Hakodate station, but in the middle of the historic downtown and walking distance from museums and sightseeing.

Pension Jokura is very warm and welcoming. The couple hosting is lovely and friendly, will make you feel at home. I stayed in a single Japanese room and was perfect, spacious and comfortable. There are shared bathrooms and shower divided for males and females and although the pension was almost full I never had to wait more than a few minutes to use them. There are also 4 shared sinks, more than enough for everyone. The location perhaps it's the only element to check before depending on you plans:the zone is great as it's less than 10mins walking from the main attractions of the city such as red brick building, old town hall or even the mount Hakodate ropeway, but is not too near the station (note I'm referring to the JR station, the shin-Hakodate is far northern and not in the city). There are tram or bus available but worth noting that when I left, the ghost gave me a ride to the station, saving me almost half an hour.

Jokura highlighted my whole trip in Japan. The house is very stylized with Artcraft. Good size room with traditional Japanese style make the living comfortable. Very nice owner couple who are good at hospitality, warm-kind-hearted which make travelers feel like living at home. Good location, walkable to the Hakodate Mt, morning market, bay area etc, which makes it easier to get to the cable station to appreciate the famous night view of the city, taste fresh seafood breakfast etc. I would definitely recommend Jokura to all my friends

This was a highlight of our trip after staying mostly in business hotels. The hosts are lovely people who do their best to make you feel welcome during your stay, even if it's only for one night. The house is also filled with knickknacks that give it a cosy and personal feel. Shared bathroom and toilet, but everything is really clean and well maintained. And it's located right by Motomachi, really close to the sights of Hakodate.

Highly recommended. Worth to stay here. Location is very good. Free parking. Walkable to all hot spots. Beautiful big house, so nice decoration, very clean and completed of toiletries and towel. The hosts are so kind and helpful. They said sorry for the room thus small space, actually not at all and it was enough for me to put two big luggages. If you know how to adjust it. Most important, the mattress is so comfy and have a good sleep. Please don't miss this place out.

The location is really good, not far from everything. The couple is really friendly and helped us where they could. There was a washing machine and a dryer, which was really good. Their english is really good which helped us as tourists. Thank you again for the nice present and the ride to the train station.

A few small things were improvable. For example t he motion sensor which switched on a really bright light in the hall woke me and my partner up when I just wanted to do a quick pee in the night. A small night light would've been better. Also there was a really disturbing bright light from outside which ran all the night.

I loved everything about Pension Jokura. From the welcome when we first arrived to the kindness we were shown throughout our stay. To top it all off, we were generously offered to be dropped off at the train station to save us from walking. Additionally, the hosts so kindly gave us a photo taken on arrival as a memento of our stay. We would have so loved to stay longer.

Our stay was great! The Pension Jokura is a little gem run by awesome people! The interior is super unique and there are lots of things to discover. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The surrounding offers everything from small restaurants to various cafes. The waterside and the cable car to Mt. Hokadate are also very close by. There is even a drug store/supermarket across the street.

The location excellent. It's near Mount Hakodate with restaurants and interesting Meiji era buildings within walking distance. The owners are really sweet people and exceedingly hospitable and helpful. The house is nicely decorated. The rooms and shared facilities were spotlessly clean.

The room was quite small with only the bare minimum furniture.
