The room was overall clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly, too. What I love the most was the location. It was super close to the JR station and a tram stop, making it easier to travel around the city and going to the Shinkansen station. It was also next to the famous local morning seafood market. This made my trip more enjoyable on snowy days. The stay is worth the price. I booked it only a few days before the check-in but it was still economical.

I was assigned to the room right next to an elevator so the room space felt a bit narrow but still enough for a person. There was a mysterious red droplet on the towel rack in the bathroom. It looked somewhat like it was from a melted candle but I was concerned so I didn't use the towel.

Very lively street! It is about a 5 min walk from JR station, straight ahead so even for people who are navigationally challenged (like me :-P) you can’t miss it! The Morning Market and a Lucky Pierrot are in this street. Tip: visit the market to the right of the Morning Market Breakfast (included) is fine! Mostly Japanese so if you do not like this, maybe visit Mc Donalds. If you go early to breakfast, the line may be very long. By 7.30, the line will have gone. They offer many free amenities in the lobby! Also free printing! Which is nice in itself and it was extra nice that when I could not manage, the lady from reception came to my aid. All in all, the staff are very friendly. The rooms work. Loved the water kettle and mini fridge there. Cleaning was perfect! Heads up (I did not pay enough attention) on the 4th day of your stay your room will be cleaned. If you do not want this, tell reception! I did not do this so could not use my room for a couple of hours and also, I left the following day so it was a waste of the ladies’ time.

- You can hear people talking in the hallway - The television is on an inconvenient angle for watching from the bed. Maybe hang it on the wall opposite the bed? - No socket next to the bed (so charge your phone beforehand, no problem then 😊)

Less than 5min walk from JR train station. Also near the tram stop. There's a Lawson next door and a simple and good seafood restaurant beside Lawson. The staff are pleasant and helpful. The room was old style, but clean and comfortable. The aircon can be controlled precisely to your preference, there's a cute stainless steel kettle in the room that boils and cools water quickly. Breakfast is free and there are Japanese and Western options. The bed is firm, but I slept well. There is a large window to let in sunlight. Amenities like toothbrush, pyjamas, face wash, moisturiser, etc are provided in the hotel lobby.

There was no YouTube on the TV, but it's not a big deal. I would have liked a trash bin in the bathroom too.

The location is great. It's only a short walk away from the main train station and within walking distance of many of the tourist spots. Even the spots which are a bit further out are still easily reachable but tram or bus. The staff were friendly and the hotel room was comfortable.

Breakfast was basic but not too expensive so you get what you pay for.

Hotel was rather new, good location so close the station and the market, it is also close to tram and other public transport services. Breakfast seemed simple, but Ingres were high quality.

We were a bit cold in the room given the window did not seem having double glass, other wise it was confortable, new room

The hotel's breakfast restaurant offers vary ocal foods. And they allow guests to pack foods as take away with provided lunch box. (Help guest save cost of another meal). In the evening guest can buy ready cook foods from convenience store to eat in this place with provided microwave and drinking water and ice.

location is perfect, room enough for us, breakfast is amazing, home cooked meal, very satisfying for free breakfast at hotel, we will back again if visit hakodate in the future

Location! As always, Toyoko Inn is always very near to station and it is very convenient. This Hakodate Ekimae Asaichi is very near to morning market and the pier area. Lots of great restaurants around. The room is also of good size for Japanese standard
