The Prime is a new hotel close to the station. We were given a warm welcome and the reception staff were super helpful when there was a problem with our reservation. They resolved the issue and put us at ease. The bedroom was large by Japanese standards, as was the bathroom. The linen was high quality and the room had a large smart tv. The bathroom had a large bath as well as a shower, which was welcome after a long day cycling. There was a hot bath and sauna available for guests to use, with the usual caveats around tattoos. The hotel offers guests a free drink in the reception area, which was also a nice touch - we loved the cold beer!

The location was perfect to end our Shimanami Kaido cycling. It was a short walk (~5 mins) from the train station and bike rental drop off. It was clean and modern. The bathroom was quite large and has a shower and bath tub. The breakfast buffet had a good variety. Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. We had an early flight the next morning and we were trying to determine the best way to get there. They gave us the times for the train/bus and directions when we checked in. When we got back from dinner, the hotel staff approached us in the lobby to give us a print out of the bus schedule. It was very kind for them to go above and beyond. There were many authentic restaurants nearby. Although English menus may not be available, so you may want to download Google translate. One of our favourite yakitori meals was just a few minutes walk from the hotel. We got to know some locals and tourists even though we couldn't speak the same language. It was a great atmosphere.

We stayed 3 nights at this hotel and had a very good time. The rooms were very clean and the public bath (Onsen) was excellent. We had booked rooms with breakfast and the breakfast was fine. We ate at a couple of local restaurants in the evenings. We rode part of the Shimanami Kaido cycling route from the Imabari end and it was approx a 10 minute drive to where we picked up e-bikes from Sunrise Itoyama.

The hotel would benefit from contacting Google Maps to make it easier to find the hotel when inputting in English (e.g ‘Shimanami Prime Hotel Imabari’ brought up an extra parking area that I think the hotel uses.) We chose the Japanese text from the photos displayed underneath to get to the correct location. We would have preferred that our double bed was not up against the wall as it made access difficult for one partner.

Comfortable room, great breakfast; staff gave great suggestions for restaurants. Parking was full, but we always found a free spot when coming back in the evening. The hotel is new and everything is up to date and in perfect conditions.

The address listed on Booking.com may have some spelling error because it was not recognized by Google Maps and the hotel name was listed only on Hiragana characters on Booking.com, which did not work for us. Since the hotel is brand new, the dated navigator of our rental car did not find the location with the phone number. Eventually, we figured out the English name of the hotel (The Prime Hotel) by looking at the photos on Booking.com and used that name to locate it on Google Maps. Hopefully, by now Booking.com will have listed the hotel name in English and fixed the English spelling of the hotel address so that it can be recognized by Google Maps.

Located a few minutes walk from Imabari Station (Shimanami bike depot). New property - beautifully designed rooms & facilities Staff very friendly & exceptionally helpful. About a 20 min walk to Imabari Castle which is worth a visit. 10 mins from Waterfront

In spite of having top quality Simmons beauty rest beds - they were quite uncomfortable - pillows also - not much room to stow luggage - but very nicely appointed rooms & bathrooms. Breakfast was excellent - amazing variety & quality. Beautifully prepared.

Rooms were comfortable and nice, a bit small (as usual in Japan). The upstairs communal bath was very nice too. Staff were friendly and helped us sort out our luggage forwarding with no issues.

I find it a bit baffling that people with tattoos are forbidden for using the communal bath. I am aware this is common in Japan, but this is a modern hotel that gets tons of visitors from abroad, so it's quite shocking that they have this written into their rules!

We stayed in the Shimanami Prime Hotel Imabari for one night while cycling the Shiminami Kaido route. While our room was quite small, it had everything we needed and we really enjoyed the baths, which felt wonderful after a full day of cycling. The buffet breakfast provided a good range of items and was convenient and good value for money.

The room was very small, to the extent that one of us needed to climb over the other to get in and out of bed, but otherwise the room was well laid out and well equipped.

A nice modern hotel with attentive staff, cycle racks in the lobby and a wonderful o-furo hot bath - perfect after a day cycling the Shimanami Kaido. Breakfast was good, if a little pricey.

The hotel is brand new and the room was very comfortable, but small - rather cramped when two people are trying to sort their things and pack! But despite that, I would definitely stay there again.

Excellent location - a short walk from bus terminal. Restaurants close by - great location. Rooms were very modern and clean. Staff was extremely accommodating. We traveled with a large group for the Shimanami Kaido bike ride and it was an excellent starting location. Can walk to the castle from hotel. Breakfast was excellent - lots of variety of foods.

Really liked the service at this hotel. The staff went above and beyond to help us figure out how to get to a bike rental shop. They offered bus options and taxi options then arranged a taxi for us. We used translation apps to communicate and it did not provide any issues. The onsen was basically empty when I went which was very nice!! This was basically the best service we received in Japan. We even stayed at the Grand hyatt in Roppongi
