The property itself has a major historical significance to my personal life as well as to the history of Japan and the city of Yokosuka. The Mercure Hotel Yokosuka as the structure is called now continues to extend a part of Naval history. Prior to the Mercure family, the hotel was part of the Prince Hotel chain which had an affiliated partnership with Japanese baseball’s Seibu Lions (Same ownership), However, the structure itself prior to the Prince Hotel was the Club Alliance, a military facility catering to the Morale, Welfare and Recreation of the US Navy since the end of WWII. The site overlooks Yokosuka Bay as you look beyond the adjacent mall across the street but prior to the mall once stood a shipyard facility that built some of the largest warships of the Japanese Navy and the Mercure Hotel facility once was associated with the shipbuilding as well. Staying at the Mercure is not just a place to place my head on a pillow but a key to a portal the open the path to go down Memory Lane.

Nothing -Everything, Everyone is perfect.

The location is perfect for anyone staying in the Yokosuka area. The train station is right behind the hotel, for easy access to all areas of Tokyo and the airport. There are an abundance of restaurants, shops and entertainment within walking distance, including a shopping mall across the street. The staff was great, very friendly, and when I asked for a room on a higher floor, and away from the elevators, they were able to accommodate me. I even received a large corner room that included two beds, a large refrigerator, sofa and coffee table. Great for relaxing in the morning or at night. The TV has several apps built in allowing you to watch many of your favorite shows. I like that there was an actual closet with several hangers, plus usable drawers to put your clothes in.

The rooms are dated, but clean and functional. The A/C was a little slow to cool down the room when I first arrived but stayed cool for the remainder of my stay. Because my room was facing the train station, I could hear the train early in the morning. Not that big of a deal.

Location close to train and shopping and navy base.

There were no electrical outlets by the bed that were needed for CPap, so an extension cord (provided) had to be used from the desk near the foot of the bed. The weather was cooler than expected and the room did not warm up although the thermostat was turned up. The hotel booklet said a heater could be rented.

It was clean, tidy and spacious. Staff were very helpful. There were lots of useful things in the room that you’d not find elsewhere in the world for the coat do the room. Fantastic breakfast and worth every penny.

The laundrette and smoking room were next to each other. Consequently the laundrette smelt very strongly of cigarette smoke.

The location is good for accessing various means of transportation, as well as many choices for dining out. The staff members are very kind and helpful. If I do travel again, I will definitely consider Mercure Yokosuka Hotel. Thank you Mercure for Great hospitality!

Excellent location, next to the Shioiri station (Keykiu line) and 5 minutes from the JR station, opposite a shopping center, near the sea and 15 min. from the town centre. Mercure standards, nothing to complain about.

Great buffet breakfast. Room was spacious and had microwave. Nice waterfront park with rose garden and shopping mall nearby. Very close to train station. There is a Starbucks with view of the bay across the street.

No gym. But you can walk or go jogging in the waterfront park.

Overall great hotel. Didn’t try the breakfast or other facilities but the location was perfect for what I needed. Staff was super friendly, spoke English and were helpful. They even lent out free umbrellas! Score as I woke up to solid wind and rain the first morning. Convenience stores close by as well.

Bed was a bit dated and worn. Had the soft spot in the middle that would cause people to taco up

The hotel was in a great location. It was so close to the naval base that you can hear the National Anthem play in the morning. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good too.

The rooms were small.

I love the location, close to Base and shopping. The view is awesome. Easy access for parking and the train station is next door. The staff is outstanding, always friendly and helpful.

The only problem i have is the WIFI is sometimes unstable. In the large rooms, the cold water doesn't work in the sink.
