This is a cute, nostalgic and rustic inn near the coast in Enoshima and has all the charm of less urban Japanese lifestyle. The price, location and tatami room size was cost effective, generous even for the price offered Facilities were retro but this adds to the charm - the bath was perfect for a soak after a day at the beaches or hiking the hills in Kamakura The host has limited English but was very earnest in communicating with my limited Japanese - I appreciated their patience The inn is close to Enoshima station, it's around a 10 min walk with luggage, prospective guests be careful as there is no foot path and there are cares. It may be troublesome with lots of luggage The breakfast was very generous, rice, miso soup, eggs & salad, grilled fish and side dishes. I recommend all guests to get the breakfast at time of booking as there are limited dining options for breakfast in the area (exc. the convenience stores) Thank you for having me, I look forward to coming again soon!

The inn is also tied with Kakiya restaurant where breakfast is served. Unfortunately dinner service at the restaurant was not operational when I visited, though I had made dinner plans most nights I was in Kanagawa, I would have liked to dine there when I first arrived. I hope I can try it next time

The receptionist was an elderly woman, super cute and friendly. She kept talking in Japanese and we couldn't understand what she was saying, but she was so smiley and cute! Thankfully there was an information sheet in English at the room. The location is fantastic, just couple of minutes to the beach, exactly what I was looking for as I wanted to go surfing. Right in front of a nice supermarket and the train station is only couple of minutes - actually the train pass in front of the room. I knew that, so the noise didn't bother me too much. There is a private hot bath, you just need to organise the time.

I was looking to stay in an authentic Japanese mat, but I realised it is not for me. It was very hard surface and my bones didn't like, so I had not so great sleep. The second night was little bit better. However, if you are looking for a proper Ryokan, that's the place - your body might be more adaptable than mine!

It's a very traditional and old place and only a few minutes to the cinematic station and the beach. I love the quiet morning walk to the beach. The train runs across right in front of the place, it looks quite cinematic if you like a vintage vibe. The old lady greeted us in Japanese, she is kind but you may need some basic Japanese to understand her :) The public bath is actually an onsen style too, it's old but very clean.

The restaurant was closed, not as expected for guess staying at the hotel. However, the staff showed us a hand written map of many restaurants nearby, which is cute and I appreciate them. The room may need some new tatami.

We enjoyed our stay at the ryokan. It wasn't the newest but they're doing a great job of maintaining and cleaning it. The room was spotless and it had everything we needed. The staff was very friendly in spite of our language barrier. We couldn't check in earlier, but they allowed us to leave our luggage before check-in and after check-out. It was great help! The location is nice. Even though the ryokan is right by the tram line, we could sleep through the night. It is well located for visitors to properly visit Kamakura & Enoshima. The breakfast was simply incredible and the portion was generous!

Our stay was an absolute delight. They allowed us to leave our backbacks in the morning. After a day of hiking and sightseeing it was great to return ”home” to the well maintained and clean room. Shared facilities were easy to use and very clean. Staff was extremely helpful and kind, while communication was limited as I do not speak Japanese. Breakfast was very nice! We are traveling using different styles for accommodation (apartment, nice hotel etc.) and our 15yr old son declared this as his favorite experience of our trip! I have to agree!

I did not come prepared with written down sentences in English and Japanese for basic communicarion and that would have been helpful. They had a note to ask what time we would like breakfast that helped. Luckily we were able to use Google translate! Next time I will be more prepared for communication for thanking the very helpful and welcoming innkeepers.

The breakfast was exceptional, I loved the classic room - surprisingly thick and comfortable mat and pillow, close to the monorail and a really enjoyable 20min walk to a picturesque island kinda thing with a beautiful temple. A few quaint coffee shops along the way. Bathroom had one of those Japanese baths which was cool.

The extractor fan in the room was a bit noisy but could be switched off. Didn't have a filtered water cooler so I refilled my bottle from the tap. Forgot that we had to share bathrooms but wasn't an issue. Make sure you have a travel adapter because they don't have those USB adapter ports.

The staff were so nice and helpful during my stay. The room was very spacious and I got a room with a bath, it was very clean and deep. The breakfast was definitely worth every penny, delicious traditional food, served quickly and friendly. Rice, soup, fish, eggs, vegetables, meat, yogurt, plus other sides and tea. Truly wholesome food. Very convenient location near the trains and walking distance to enoshima Island, plus it's right across from a grocery story.

Overall great experience, but be prepared that it's a traditional futon bed and very hard. It is also right beside the train and the front facing rooms can hear the train until late.

I have intended to stay in the area for family reasons and I was lucky to find this charming ryokan. The breakfast was excellent, the staff - so welcoming and nice, the location - near the sea, near the stations, supermarket is just across the road . I would love to stay here again in the future. Thank you everyone for making our stay very pleasant.

Staff was very lovely, I was allowed to wash my clothes for free. The ofuro was very relaxing, the room was spacious and cozy, I was provided a beautiful yukata everyday to wear besides the towels, toothbrush and toothpaste. The included breakfast was delicious. We can borrow shoes to go out and umbrellas. Free wi-fi and air conditioning

The corridor smelled like cigarettes, the pillow was too thin and to get another one you had to pay extra.

The place is very comfy. If you are searching for real Japanese experience, I am recommending it. The price/quality ratio was top notch. Really friendly staff and delucious meals. Be aware that it isn't 5 star hotel so don't expect fireworks :) I really enjoyed my stay there over Christmas time. It is very close to Enoshima island and shonan beach with iconic train pass from Slam Dunk anime. If I ever will be around again I will be staying in this place :)
