it is cozy, breakfast is delicious. Pension berg has prepared everything you could think of , even for the ski rental recommendation. rooms, toilet and bath room are super clean. location wise is it super close to either the ace gondola or family lift. we love the staff in pension berg the most. they are super helpful and really go extra miles to help the residents . they saved our life when we couldn’t find a taxi to the train station due to the big snow.

If you find anything that you don’t like about this property, I’m sure you won’t like all of the properties in this village.

The breakfast was a nice mix and excellent value. Comfy lounge area. The location is amazing (cut through directly across the road to the ski run) very close to dinner/bar options and convenience stores. The owner/host, Miwa, is absolutely lovely, very welcoming and helpful. I took advantage of ski rental delivery. Very nice to have the small onsen. Stunning view of Mt Yōtei, if you’re lucky.

A lamp in the room would be nice for a softer lighting option than the very bright main light. Recommend bringing a head torch or collapsible camping lamp for extended stay. Shared shower worth it for the price.

- location is close to Hirafu base, but requires walking 6-10 minutes uphill to the gondola. It’s faster to cut through parking lot near Maples Niseko and ski down to ace family lift

- Great location - 5 mins walk up the hill to the Ace Gondola. -Friendly and helpful staff who spoke good English. - Check out flexibility - was able to leave my gear on the morning of my departure while I went riding, and was able to come back and shower in the communal onsen before heading out. - Quite at night

N/A but just be aware that the bathrooms are communal, Japanese style onsens (separated by gender)

Great breakfast and a way to ski down to the Ace #1 lift by going through the parking lot across the street. The location was perfect with easy access to all the Hirafu restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. The road and sidewalk in front has snowmelt so no heavy snow walking boots necessary. The staff/owners are awesome. We will definitely come back.

If you are tall, take care. Easy to bang your head on a few low doorways.

Ideal location in central Hirafu. Walking distance to lifts and restaurants. I had a western style room that was very comfortable and warm. Tasty cooked breakfast included a combination of western and Japanese items. Toilet and shower facilities were shared, but immaculately clean and modern. Very friendly staff!

An excellent and homely lodge that is ran by a friendly and considerate owner. Recommend you do not pre-book any rentals as they can provide a much more competitive price with delivery and pick-up directly to the lodge. The Onsen was a life-saver after a day of skiing and fantastic value compared to other far more expensive options in Hirafu. Public and shared facilities were maintained to an impeccable level of cleanliness.

The location, and price with breakfast included was great! Also really enjoyed the traditional Japanese bathing facilities and ski room. Extremely clean and well cared for!

Walls were a little thin and stairs were a bit noisy. With earplugs you’re all good.

Absolutely one of the best places I've stay at Niseko!! The location is amazing for what you pay, right on the main road that takes you up to the welcome centre , i walked from the bus drop off to the pension berg. From the door of the board room to the quad chair is about a 6 -7 minute walk and to the gondola is about a 10 - 11 minute walk, perfect if you want to head to different locations on the mountain. The staff were fantastic and so helpful and very kind. Plenty of toilet on all levels and a gorgeous onsen for both males and females. There's a conveniences store right around the corner. Everything you need for your holiday is under 10 minutes of walking. Would 100% come back to the Berg!

Beds were a bit uncomfortable but still good.

We loved our stay at pension berg. Perfect location, and the staff were very accomodating and friendly. They helped us arrange ski hire and were friendly through our whole stay.

Toilets and showers are shared, shower is open layout. This was totally fine for us but may bother some people.
