Shuku Shuku is located in Northern Kyoto - Murasakino neighborhood. Away from the popular tourist areas, much calmer, less traffic, residential vibe, but with coffee shops, convenience stores, a good bakery across the street and great places to dine. We walked to local spots including Daitoku-Ji , a large temple complex which we basically had all to ourselves to wander. It was an easy walk to bus stop and station, and when we traveled further distances we used taxis. The owner was very easy to connect with via text message and returned answers to our questions promptly. She was very pleasant, gave us a tour of the property upon our arrival and much information about the neighborhood. ShukuShuku was a wonderful place to stay, very well kept, clean, comfortable, roomy, , great beds, fully equipped kitchen, many windows looking out. Our best stay on our 18 day trip between Tokyo and Kyoto.

Really nice apartment, clean and cozy, really value for money. The best stay in Kyoto. It's not near the city center but has bus stop in just 2min walk. I'll definitely recommend to my friends and family, also will be my first choice in my next visit in Kyoto.

The guesthouse is spacious, clean and had everything we need! We felt safe and comfortable. It's a 25 minute walk to the station and a bus stop right outside to get you there quicker! Good amenities close by and very close to the Golden Pavilion.

It is on the main road so there's quite a lot of traffic noise. We started to get use to it but was a bit disruptive at first.
