This has become my go to hotel when I come to Kyoto, I love it. First of all it doesn't have many rooms, so not only you feel taken care of, but there's basically no noise. Plus being a 15 minute walk from the station, you're close to everything without all the noise coming from the street and such. On the other hand basically all the important bus lines are just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, so you reach everything very quickly. The room is spacious and has everything you need, the bed is super comfortable and the staff is very kind. Absolutely recommended!

The rooms are very nice and especially spacious in Japan! Loved the bathroom, very spacious but wish there was a bath! Very quiet and nice.

The hotel is on a steep incline. This is difficult when after doing all the touristy things in Kyoto, particularly Mount Inari. The hotels nearest station is a 10 mins walk away (may not be on the right train line or direction though) and Kyoto station is 20 minutes away. Walking roughly 40-45,000 steps a day made getting back feel difficult and during this stay was the only time we ever got an Uber in Japan! It is close to very nice attractions but the hills and heat make it difficult. Next time in Kyoto, I’ll come when it’s not summer! There was no breakfast. Or if there was, there was no option. The staff weren’t always at the desk.

This lovely boutique hotel is located in a quiet area of the city and a peaceful haven after a busy day. Located just a 10 minute walk from the nearest subway station, it was easy to catch a train to Gion and Fushimi-Inari shrine. Sanjusangen-do is also just a 5-minute walk. There are a few good places to eat nearby (noodles, burgers) without having to head back into the city. The room was a great size with a lovely moss garden. The bathroom was modern and clean with a rain head shower. Comfortable bed with nice firm pillows. Fresh towels and water are provided daily, if required. We will definitely stay here again if we return to Kyoto.

The pre check-in process was a struggle. We managed to sort it on arrival, but the tablet in reception was unresponsive for quite a while, and there was no staff onsite to help. We were also charged again for the city tax, despite this being included in the total paid to booking.com - when raising it with the hotel, this was quickly resolved, and they promptly arranged a refund. More technical issues with the tablet in the room. It wouldn't charge on its docking station and never came back online after the first day. Also, nothing to stop the curtain coming off its track so it fell off completely the first time we opened it.

This hotel has become my go to whenever I'm in Kyoto, but this was the first time I had a room with a bathtub. I'm more a shower guy, but this bathroom is impressive. It's really big and during the whole stay you feel really taken care. The check-in and checkout is handled via tablet so it's really quick and time saving, the staff isn't there 24 hour a day but they are really kind and welcoming. Plus you have a washer and dryer for free in common, but there aren't many rooms so I never had problem finding it available. Not being there many rooms the details are really taken care of and you don't feel just any random guest. Plus the guest support always answers quickly whenever you have a question or need something. I love that it's in a quiet area but close to everything. Will definitely come again!

Close enough to the sites and the city, but removed enough to allow for a quieter stay. The room had everything you could possibly need, neat, tidy and very roomy. The coffee machine on the ground floor was a bonus each morning as was access to a washing machine & dryer. A very neat, tidy and clean hotel and would definitely recommend. There's a pretty delicious Kyoto burger place mere steps from the hotel.

Loved having 2 pillows however a few were a little too hard

On the ad it says the hotel is "unmanned", however whenever we returned to the hotel there was always a pleasant staff member at the front desk, so if you need to talk to someone you can. It is located on a residential street that is about a 5 min walk to a bus station that ran directly to the Gion district and Higashiyama ward area, so we ended up using the local bus system the entire time we stayed. We also used public transport to get to the Arashiyama district and Kifune shrine with no issue. As two young females we never felt unsafe, even when we arrived late at night. The rooms are extremely spacious for Japan - by far the largest room we stayed in, and a MASSIVE bathroom. Well worth the money in our opinion.

It was amazing that the laundry machine and dryer were free to use (and it automatically added in its own laundry detergent), however it was unfortunate that there was only one machine of each for the entire hotel. It was occupied pretty much every night we were there from about 5pm onwards, so if you really need to do laundry you need to plan in advance to do it early. Also: to leave your luggage you just lock it essentially with a provided bike lock by the unlocked front door, so be aware of that.

Our stay at this hotel in Kyoto was nothing short of amazing. The room was incredibly spacious and spotlessly clean. The location was super convenient, just a short and easy walk from the subway. One of the standout features was the Nespresso coffee machine, a perfect way to start the day. They also provided unlimited toiletries, making packing light a breeze. The free washer and dryer were a huge bonus, especially for a longer trip. The highlight of our stay was the beautiful Japanese mini garden right outside our window. We could open it up, set up the table and chairs, and enjoy a peaceful, zen-like atmosphere while having pre-drinks. It was such a unique and relaxing experience. The king-size bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a restful sleep after a long day of exploring. This was hands down the best hotel we stayed at during our entire Japan trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. Would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful room with interesting private mini landscape garden scene. Super quiet and relaxing. Lots of space. Felt like luxury. I booked for the wrong week and they sorted it out instantly, so lucky and they were so nice about it!

The speaker did buzz through the night and I couldn’t turn it off. But I had ear plugs so I was fine!

It's a great hotel, very modern with great amenities such as a washing machine and a dryer and an espresso machine at the entrance all free of charge. For what all that it offers it has a great price. Furthermore it's a 15 minute walk from Kyoto station but it's a residential area so there is no noise. However there are bus stops for all the main bus lines very close, so it's very easy to move around the city. Staff also very available and kind. Highly recommended!

I would have given a 10, the only reason why I'm giving 9 is that the bathroom was cold and I was unfortunate to spend my days in Kyoto when it was exceptionally cold and snowy. If there would be some kind of heating system in the bathroom it would be a 10!
