This hotel was a gem! I had a corner room in the traditional ryokan style, but all modern clean and new. The downstairs spa Onsen was equipped with modern hairdryers and appliances and impeccably clean. And it was open late and early, so I was able to go before leaving and after coming back at night. Which was such a plus. The breakfast had fresh fruit and fresh salad which I appreciated. And the staff was so helpful with holding and forwarding my luggage as well as helping me with any of my needs. it was one of my places to stay in Kyoto and it was reasonably priced. I was very happy.

The location (1), facilities (2) and staff (3) were all great. 1. We liked that the hotel was close to many tourist attractions but not in the busy area (e.g. Gion). 2.The first floor includes an onsen for all guests to use, we loved it. The most comfortable futon I have slept on so far and the room was very spacious. 3. We had some issues with post delivery and also reserving restaurants and the staff in the reception helped us a lot. We would certainly repeat

The breakfast changed very little during the 5 days we stayed. It would be great if they changed the menu every 3 days or so.

Clean and spacious rooms with comfy futons to sleep on! Onsen was a great way to end the evening, and is tattoo friendly. Good variety of options for breakfast buffet. Great location, around 10 walk to the tube and lots of food/drink in the neighbourhood. Staff were also friendly.

The only thing I would mention is that the window in our room overlooks the building directly opposite so lacks natural sunlight and a view, everything else was lovely!

The room was spacious, clean, and beautiful. The air conditioning worked great. The public bath was nice, plenty of showers and the bath was a good size and temperature. The staff was very friendly and attentive, and they let us leave our bags (almost all day!) before check-in. The included breakfast buffet was fantastic—tonnes of variety and very healthy, delicious, and balanced. The futon blanket was soooo fluffy, I wanted to stay in it all day. All the facilities were super clean and in great shape. The location was also perfect, it was just a short walk to two big stations, and extremely close to the main shopping arcades. Super happy, would absolutely recommend and stay again.

This place was so great to stay at, I highly Recommend it. It wasn’t far to lots of locations, the shops, the Nishiki Market, Pontocho, Gion (Hanami Koji) was all within walking distance. A 7/11 close by and the subway a very short walk away. The room was spacious enough to lay our bags out and the room was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great, bacon, eggs, breads, traditional Japanese options and juice, fruit, coffee and tea. There is also an Onsen open early morning and in the evening. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We will stay here when we return to Japan.

The staff was really nice. We could check-in a little earlier than expected and were treated well. The room was super clean, modern and felt a bit homely. There even was a USB-power outlet which was helpful for us EU Traveller. :) The location was exceptionally nice, in the middle of the city with easy access to a subway that gets you to Kyoto Station in 3 stops. The big festival in June is held on the big road right next to the hotel, sadly we were a bit late to see it. We really liked our stay and recommend staying here, worth every penny.

The duvet cover was a bit strange but other than that we have no complaints!

Staff was very attentive and helpful. LOVED the location- within 15 minute walk of several public transport lines, Teramachi shopping street, Nishiki Market, Kyoto Garden and more. Table games available in the lobby. The soda and popsicles after onsen were a very lovely touch as well. ^_^

Check in isnt till 4 p.m. No on site microwave or laundry. Vending machine selection is scarse and very expensive comparatively.

quiet location inside the Gesha district. close to major bus lines. New and very tidy property, delicious and hearty breakfast, very attentive and caring staff. Soon after we settled in, we started smelling smoke. We called the front desk, they came and quickly identified that the guests next-door were smoking (this is a smoke-free property). They quickly decided to upgrade us to a different room on a different floor. All these are standard customer care. What made it different was when the staff told us about the room upgrade and left to set up the new room, the female staff came back and made sure we locked the door while they are gone. Because we were two females traveling alone, and the guests next door were two men. This made me felt really safe and warm. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to everyone, especially female travelers!

Absolutely lovely. Large and tasteful traditional styled rooms, but with modern fittings, fantastic bathroom, staff lovely and excellent value for money. Onsen and breakfast included, extremely good location. Not for those who want a western style room, but I would recommend wholeheartedly to everyone else.

My stay and the hotel was excellent. Great service from the hotel staff, they spoke English. The room had a good amount of space, really enjoyed the tatami mat experience. The onsen was great too, never crowded. Great location within walking distance of numerous spots for food and shops in Kyoto. Highly recommended!
