Nol Kyoto is a modern hotel with beautiful design and large rooms that were very comfortable. The staff was very nice and helpful. To get to the hotel we took the Karasuma Line form Kyoto station to the Karasuma Oike station which was a quick 5 minute walk to the hotel. The Sanjo Station was about 12 minute walk away which gave us access to other train lines as well. The area around and the hotel and to the south and east of the hotel have so many incredible restaurant options in walking distance. Everything was accessible from the hotel which proved to be very central. The hotel itself provided a beautiful space to recover after exploring the city. The wood baths and showers were amazing and we slept very well in the beds. The washer/dryer combo also allowed us to clean our clothes which was helpful and we could start the load and not have to wait. Great option for a wonderful stay in Kyoto.

What seems like an unassuming property on the outside was incredible on the inside. The check in and check out experience was easy and they had luggage storage and luggage forwarding services which was incredibly convenient and very handy. The room was incredible, the interior design was very well thought out and there was lots of space. The wooden bathtub in the room was definitely a luxurious experience! Our room also came with a washing machine/dryer which was an incredible addition but be prepared the time it takes can be anywhere between 3-4 hours for one load. My husband and I cannot say enough good things about the room and location. The location was also convenient with just a 10 minute walk to Teramachi. I loved everything about this hotel! The architecture and decor were beautiful and modern, the wooden tub was amazing (I soaked in it almost nightly), the staff were lovely and kind, and the free sake bar was a plus! Location wise, it is less than 10 min walk from the subway, less than 20 min total to get to Kyoto station, and there are many great restaurants nearby. The room was very comfortable, quiet, and spacious

Lovely hotel in a good location. The wooden soaking tub in the room was divine and the shower may have been the nicest I have ever taken. The room was huge and nicely designed. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The window of the room was covered by a shoji screen but looked out into the lobby of the hotel where there were bright lights shining at night. We ended up actually going out into the lobby and turning some of them off since they were quite bright in the room. I wouldn’t stay in that same room again but would happily return to the hotel.

Travelled with family and a small child. The room was cosy and comfortable. Staff were friendly and attentive. Free drinks and snacks available throughout the day from their lounge. The location is pretty good - many small eateries nearby and Nishiki market is down the road.

It is a 7 to 10 minute walk from the nearest subway or bus station especially if you have a child that wants to be carried! We would come back again after our child has learnt to walk more consistently!

My room was so amazing that I did not want to leave it. It had the most amazing hinoki wood soaking tub and rain shower, microwave, mini fridge, and washer/dryer. The location of the hotel was perfect as well. 5 min walk to Nishiki Market or Karasuma Oike Subway station. The front desk staff were also very helpful (the cab I ordered through the online concierge never showed up so she ordered me a new one and it arrived in 5 min) and there is free self-serve sake in the lobby in the evenings. This hotel was honestly one of the best things about my trip to Japan. I would 100% stay here again. ^_^

No breakfast options—kaiseki or buffet—for breakfast like with other hotels other than tea sandwich delivery. They should partner with a nearby restaurant to offer a proper breakfast and thus round out their facility offerings.

The property is in a very good location walkable to 2 train stations and also to Nishiki Market and Daimaru. There are convenient shops nearby and the property provided Coffee, snacks, cold drinks and even sake (in the night) for sampling. Rooms are of good size and they even have a bath tub and washing machine (which I find very useful). Staff was helpful using (google translate) to call us a taxi and gave simple directions. We will definitely return to the hotel if we visit Kyoto again.

Such a beautifully designed hotel. Perfect synergy between traditional Japanese style and more contemporary design. The room I stayed in had an awesome Hiba wooden bath which was so relaxing.

The two primary negatives of the room: there was a random step about 5cm high in the middle of the room, which I consistently ran into because its placement is a bit ridiculous. Should be covered by some sort of cover. The second thing was that the bathroom tap was far too close to the edge of the sink, it made it difficult to use the tap to wash hands etc.

Can’t fault this place - it was exceptional! The room was absolutely lovely with our wooden bath for a soak for our own private onsen experience (of course after having a good shower). The staff welcomes us and we’re helpful, the sake happy hour was a treat too! The location was ideal for getting to Gion and all the various temples and shrines. We did also try the traditional breakfast one morning and that was good fun! In the room, having use of a washing machine was super useful.

Really nothing much at all. Just some super tiny things and by no means deal breakers for us. The coffee from the machine, which is free, did not provide good coffee so I’d give this a miss. Also, for the western rooms the mattresses are single and not doubles, but we were aware of that and still chose to stay at the hotels.

Very very clean, quite simple but beautiful hotel. It definitely gives a feeling of luxury. The bath was probably the nicest thing about the room, and its design - which felt Japanese yet modern and comfortable. The washing&drying machine in the room was also great!

The room was quite small so take that into consideration, especially if you have more than one piece of luggage per person.
