Modern, decor, the room was very spacious. Very peaceful tatami rooms. Onsen was lovely, my favorite was the open air one. Not crowded at all. We reserved one morning for breakfast and it was amazing, one of the highlights of our Kyoto trip. Convenience store downstairs was perfect and luggage services were great. Subway super close. My only regret was not going to the temple behind the hotel.

Different sizes of slippers for rooms! My feet are US 11 women's and when I went to the staff to ask for slippers they only have the one size for the tatami room so I had to just wear clean socks on the tatami. I would bet money on if there are foreigners; like men or women with larger feet than me and they tried to wear those slippers they would not have fit and some bare feet have been on tatami lol. I don't mind but I would assume others would.

The room is very Japanese style. We have Japanese beds and tea toom in our room, which is really super comfortable and it smells soooooo good! The hotel is right next to the Temple Honnoji (30 seconds from the hotel exit), which is also the main reason why we chose this place. Apart from the above, the location is really good, right on top of the 京都市役所前駅, 5mins walk to the 鴨川, and 25 mins walk to the 京都御苑. Pharmacy, family mart and 丸龜製麵 are just downstairs, super convenient for travelers.

Our room is facing the 京都市役所, which the view is amazing (I love the sunshine!), but somehow during the night, the noise from the street was quite clear.

I loved the public bath, was using it every day and caught it when it was completely empty. Kaiseki traditional dinner was excellent, but may be too adventurous for some westerners. Traditional breakfast was so filling, we had to take a nap. Excellent location too, right in front of city hall, walking distance to many tourist attractions and restaurants.

Somewhat pricey, but you get what you paid for. Being in front of city hall there were daily peaceful protests you could hear, but that's the price of democracy, and everyone would disperse before bedtime.

Location is excellent. Walking distance to the shopping district. Breakfast is so pretty and amazing. Room is very comfort, but properly because it is traditional Japanese room, we found it a little challenge to store our big luggage’s. The public bath is an amazing experience for my daughters and myself, which is super clean and has everything you need. We end up going to that public bath every day during our stay. There are convenient store and a very good noodle restaurant downstairs, which leaves you no worry about eating at any time.

The lights at the sink place is a little too dark. It is a little challenge to handle big luggage in the Japanese traditional room.

Oh my, what an amazing place! Huge room. Initially sceptical about the sleeping on the floor futon arrangement, but actually incredibly comfortable. Beds set up by staff. Indoor footwear provided. Breakfast just incredible - Japanese style, varied each morning, no need for a large lunch later! Handy tip - learn about onsen entiquette before you head in... Great location opposite city hall, handy for metro station. Brillant. Loved it.

There was nothing we didn't like.

The hotel staff were friendly and the location is good next to the metro/tube station. The public bath was great to use a good perk to have at the hotel and traditional Japanese sleep wear was great.

so we had to swap rooms because we made two separate bookings due to not being able to stay the full week which wasn't an issue. However we gave back the key cards but they somehow how lost one of the key cards and kept on asking us for the key card which we already gave in so that was a bit hassle to deal with but it was sorted in the end.

Well located, just few steps tometro station and to Nishiki Market. The room with private bathroom is big and clean. Rooms have a very true Japanese touch and the sight over the temple was a real plus. The futons were very confortable even to us, that actually never slept in a futon in our lifes. Staff was very helpful, they borrowed us an umbrella to walk on Kyoto streets on a rainy day. We never tried breakfast but there is a minimarket just next door and a cafeteria very close to the hotel

Extremely helpful staff. Assisted in our luggage delivery to not our next hotel but the one after. Called the luggage HelpDesk to confirm and stepped us through the process. They staff were polite and used their English very well to answer all our questions.

Couldn't quite find a fault. I did have some issues with the laundry machine but was able to work it out on my own.

Loved everything about it, the style of the interior, rooms layout, rental yukatas for woman I wished we had chose to stay there longer. Location is pretty good slightly further away from the Kyoto station but since we only had backpacks we had no issues.

If it was slightly cheaper we would have booked that place for our whole stay in Kyoto

Very central location. It mixes some traditional aspects with contemporary amenities. We stayed in the Japanese room and it was very quiet. Value and expectations were met. Was great for hosting a family of 4. Loved the baths - very clean. Looked like the photos.
