Clean. We have a 4 yo child travelling with us so we had 3 single beds. It was consider spacious with 3 single beds but luggages would need to be open and close alternately due to space constraints after 3rd bed was in.

This is my second time staying at this property. First time was 2017. I remember it was quite good so we rebooked again this time. However, when I asked a staff on the day we check in to help us book a restaurant because the restaurant only speak Japanese and only accept phone reservations, front desks said they cannot help us because the day we want to book for restaurant is when we left the hotel. The very same day of check out. I always remember Japan as great hospitality and courteous towards anyone but was very shock with a straight “No I cannot help you”

This hotel is well located. If you come out and turn right you go straight into the covered shopping streets with multiple small stalls. A few blocks and right into Nishiki Market. The location gives an opportunity to beat the crowd to Nishiki Market and enjoy it without the crush of other tourists. If you turn left you can cross Sanjo bridge and are into Gion which is the older more traditional section. I like the location b/c gives you access to fun things and the subway and busses and options for walking. Rooms are clean.

It’s on a Main Street. On the 3rd floor hotel room facing the street there is unavoidable street noise.

The hotel and location were excellent. 10 min walk from anything. 7 min to train station. Right by the river which is excellent for food and relaxing.

Our reservation was for a bedroom that slept 3 persons. The booking only stated 2 people. At the front desk we said we would pay the difference of the additional person to be added to our room for tax purposes. They strong-armed us into purchasing another room on the spot for 500 dollars for 3 nights. We did not let this affect our trip at the moment however; in retrospect, this was simply not the level of service I was expecting. English skills were lacking to say the least at this location, specifically.

The Park Royal turned out to be the perfect place for me to spend my week in Kyoto. The facilities there were upscale. The room was large for the price, bathroom had a shower and one of those extra deep bathtubs. Wi-Fi was excellent. And breakfast was varied and well done. I was particularly pleased with the location. The subway stop was close. There were plenty of nice restaurants around. Plus an excellent bakery right next door. Gion, Kyoto‘s old town, was within walking distance. Working with the staff was another high point. Whenever I needed anything from the front desk, I never had to wait in line. That’s gotta be a first for me. The hotel is first class from beginning to end.

Fabulous location. Well laid out room but a little small. Early checkin for a small fee. Very clean. Good products for bathroom. Great quality linens. We were at the back and would have found it noisy in the street frontage rooms. Lots of kombini nearby. Very good transport connections and basically on the city bus route. Stylish foyer and facilities. Good laundry on 2 levels.

Disappointing to find that to have a drink in the bar, guests staying at the hotel were charged a 550¥ service fee. We were there for 5 nights and didn’t expect this charge. As a result, we didn’t drink at the bar.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Royal Park Hotel. It is in a fantastic location, with us just having to walk out of the hotel straight into the heart of shopping in Kyoto. The hotel has all the facilities you could wish for. It is within walking distance of a canal and we were lucky enough to be able to see Cherry Blossoms lining the canal - Beautiful. There is many food options within easy walking distance from the hotel to cater for all meals during the day. We highly recommend staying at this wonderful hotel.

A wonderful hotel. We spent 5 nights in September 2024 and had a very positive experience. Staff were absolutely brilliant. Nothing was too much for them. Breakfast was great too. There was an excellent variety of dishes. Self service laundry was very useful. Washing costs 400 Yen. Drying costs 100 Yen for 30 minutes. Location was excellent. Only a few minutes walk to the subway and buses. Market and restaurants are only a few minutes walking distance. Rooms are very generous by Japanese standards. Overall an ex excellent choice for Kyoto

There isn't a much of a view from the double rooms

The location was excellent. The room was good size for two twins with enough space to move around comfortably. We made use of the laundry facilities which was a plus. Breakfast had a good selection of main dishes. Front desk service was wonderful. We used a luggage transfer service which they made it super easy and stress-less for us by making sure the luggage was being transferred to the right hotel and assisted filling out the paperwork.

Laundry facility space was a little small but functional.

Very well located hotel for Kyoto station and for walking, visiting. Breakfast was generous and the room was fine, perhaps larger than others I've had in Japan.

Not a complaint, but was confused by an interaction I had with the front desk when I asked to stay an extra night. They were unable to match the price Booking.com was offering despite the hotel saying they match all rates. I was encouraged to try to book the extra night in front of them via Booking.com, being assured that it wouldn't work. It did work, and I got a considerably better deal, but then had to negotiate staying in my current room (which was in fact a lower class of booking). As I say, not a complaint, but just an odd interaction.

We had the pleasure of staying at The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Sanjo during our honeymoon, and it was an unforgettable experience. The hotel's prime location in the heart of Kyoto made exploring the city's attractions incredibly convenient. Our room's interior design was stunning, blending modern elegance with traditional Japanese touches, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was exceptional, easily the best we've had in any hotel in Japan—an impressive variety of fresh, high-quality dishes that catered to all tastes. A special mention goes to the front desk personnel, whose communication and professionalism were outstanding. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable. If you're looking for a luxurious and centrally located hotel in Kyoto with impeccable service, The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Sanjo is the perfect choice. We highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto, whether for a honeymoon or any special occasion.
