Great hotel. Comfy bed, and HUGE room. Even a separate toilet. Free drinks machine that you can use after 12. Clean and with an actual view out the window. Had a small couch and table. Stored luggage. Clean, friendly and great location. Highly recommended. They do breakfast for 1600 yen each but we went for breakfast at Shinshindo, Sanjo Kawaramachi on the three days we were there which is only a short walk away and does great bakery food, and also toast and coffee, bacon eggs and coffee, French toast and coffee. Paid less than 2000 yen for two of us. Coffee is unlimited refills. Also recommend going to Que Pasa for Mexican and to Tepanyaki Manryu. Definitely do Bamboo Forest and Monkey Place on one day. And then another day the temple gates.

The hotel is just amazing. I stayed in 5 different hotels during my summer trip to Japan, and that one is the best of them. The room is spacious and clean, with a window that can be opened with a view. The reception staff is so friendly and available 24/7. There are free drinks with a huge variety to choose from, including coffee, hot chocolate, juices, cola, lemonade, and more. You have a subway station and a lot of convenient stores next to the hotel. The location is quiet. It was amazing to stay there with no regrets. If I ever come back to Kyoto, I'm definitely going to choose that hotel with my eyes closed.

This hotel and the room are simply 10/10, everything was good, you can't go wrong with this one! The room was very spacious for japan, big window that open, everything clean, new towels every day at your door, cleaning every 3 days, PLENTY of amenities available 24/7 for free to pick as you please, free DIVERS drinks, quiet, location just perfect for those who do not like crowded places. We booked this hotel 2 times during our trip because it was simply that GREAT, we didn't find a competent competitor, this hotel was by far the winner. Next time we're coming straight to this one and we're looking forward to that! Thank you Hotel and Staff, we had a wonderful time !!!!!

The location was extremely pleasant, only a short walk from Sanjo-Keihan station which has both the Keihan line (to osaka) and Tozai line, both of which are lines that connect to a lot of places in kyoto. There was also a bus stop close by to Kiyomizudera, making it extremely convenient for shopping and touring places.

For some reason, the room became more dusty after cleaning, and caused my partner's allergies to act up. Not blaming the hotel though, it was still an extremely pleasant stay!

The hotel's excellent location near Sanjo station allowed us to visit all the top sights on foot or easily and quickly by subway. By local standards, the room was quite spacious, with the possibility of storing even large luggage. The bathroom had a separate toilet (modern and intelligent) and a separate onsen-type bathroom. A limited number of different cosmetics, toothbrushes, razors, combs were available. We were lucky to have a view to the east of the neighboring temple. The air conditioning worked great, as did the change of towels and cleaning. The breakfast was buffet-style, varied and rich. A nice bonus was the possibility of free coffee, matcha and soft drinks in the hotel lobby from 12 to 10 p.m.

The only complaint is a bit of dust on the shelf and an unpleasant damp smell from the toilet and bathroom (during the wet season) in the room. A small air freshener would certainly fix that.

The breakfast was very good, with both Western and Japanese options. The location is perfect—just a short walk to Gion, Nishiki Market, and the Teramachi and Shinkyōgoku arcades. It's also close to Sanjo Station, with easy subway access to major sights like Nijō Castle, Fushimi Inari Taisha (direct), Arashiyama, and Kyoto Station (1 transfer). The hotel offers helpful maps of local attractions and restaurants, making sightseeing easy. Staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. Though near a main street, it’s set on a quiet side street, and our ground-floor room near the lobby was very peaceful and spacious. The beds were medium firmness—very comfortable. There’s a free drink area with hot and cold beverages available all day, and a laundry facility for guest use. Clear English manuals in the room made it easy to use the AC and TV. The AC worked very well and was easy to adjust. We’d definitely stay here again on our next trip to Kyoto.

The location is unbeatable—just a short walk to the Gion shopping district and well-connected to public transportation, making it a great base for exploring Kyoto. The room was surprisingly spacious—comfortable for two people and able to accommodate three large suitcases without feeling cramped. It was clean, quiet, and thoughtfully designed for both comfort and convenience. While I didn’t try the hotel breakfast, there was a free beverage area with a wide selection of beverages available, which was a pleasant surprise and a great way to unwind after a day out. Overall, the staff were courteous, check-in/check-out was smooth, and the experience was seamless from start to finish. I’d highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable, convenient stay in Kyoto.

We booked this place to save a little $, and I'm glad we did. The location is fairly central in Gion and near public transportation and a temple across the street. The view of the temple and hills was excellent, far better than the pricey ryokan we booked that was closer to Yasaka. The breakfast was a combination of Japanese and western, which my family appreciated after days of Japanese-only breakfast. The food quality was good. They have a good drink area that is always open. The laundry facility was convenient. The rooms were very comfortable, with regular beds. All six of us slept well. The staff were helpful and efficient. I would definitely stay here again.

We loved everything about it. And the fact that the towels were changed almost everyday for us, was quite a shocker. I’m not too sure whether this towel changing thing is a norm but it’s definitely new to us, and we loved it. The hotel room had a classy yet comfort feel to it. The room was spacious enough for us to open 2 large luggages + 1 cabin luggage. There was ample space for us to move around. The free flow drink bar from 1200 - 2200 was also something interesting to us, and it was one of our favourites too. Additionally, the amenities that we could take beside the elevator were a blessing as there are some days whereby I might need travel sized cleaners, toners and moisturiser without needing to bring around my own ones. Other than that, everything here has been wonderful - even the staff at the front desk have been really helpful in answering our queries.

The washing machine and dryer were priced at a very reasonable price, but a tiny issue is that when it comes to jeans or heavy clothes, it might take longer than usual to dry. For example, even after 3 rounds (each round is 30 min) in the dryer, my 2 pair of jeans were still damp. So just a heads up, your heavier clothes might still be damp even after being in the dryer, but your lighter clothes will definitely dry after at least 2 rounds.

Loved how central it was to all the stations we needed to take. It is also in a quiet area and away from the main road. The staff were very friendly, the breakfast was good and there were a ton on amenities to help us out. The room we stayed in was quite spacious and they had a TV with a lot of options to keep entertained.

The bed was like a rock. No bounce or cushion AT ALL. Also, the unlimited drink station really only came in handy for people who were awake in the late hours of the night because otherwise it was closed either for breakfast use or because it was too early in the morning. We were out of the hotel around 7-8am most days and couldn’t access for coffee before we left which sucked.
