Very quiet area. (Very nice) The smoking area is near our room. The smell seeps through the door as someone who has sensitive nose it was not great. But other than that everything is perfect!!!

The staff was really nice and helpful, a lot of them knew english as well so communication was never an issue! The hostel is located very close to the subway station and a short walk to the Kyoto station so connectivity was amazing. The rooms and bedding were well maintained. We booked a private room with a bunk bed and they were really comfortable. They provide towels and toiletries for a nominal fee if you haven't got them yourself as well. There were no noise issues in a private room and washrooms were very clean and well maintained.

I extended my stay to 14 nights (private room). It has everything a backpacker might need. Comfortable bed, spacious all-equipped kitchen, spacious and comfy lounge room, a terrasse and a rooftop. Washing-machine available. Showers and toilets on each floor. Some people said it was hard to meet people there but I disagree. It's just that sometimes you have to be the one to make the move. I made friends there. Also the location is very convenient : walking distance from Kyoto station and you have a subway station, many buses and konbinis nearby, as well as bars and restaurants. There's a nice bar right by the entrance. A lot of temples can also be reached by foot, as well as Gion and Pontocho (20-30 min walk for those). The staff is also very nice. Very pleasant view from the rooftop, especially at sunset.

The fact that the rooftop and terrasse close at 8.30 pm. I know it's not the staff's fault (noise complaint from the neighbors) but it's still a shame because spending evenings there would be so nice.

- There were no curtains for the beds, so no privacy at all. I think curtains should be standard. - For some reason the blanket is not changed/washed after every guest. How it works is that you get a sheet that is supposed to be between you and the thicker blanket. So they don't wash the blanket, just the sheets. And the blanket just gets some spaying down after check-out. But most guests use the blanket without the sheet which means each guest is sleeping with a blanket that has already been used. Very unhygenic. After I found out I tossed my blanket and just used the sheet. Everything else was cleaned regularly.

Located about ten minutes on foot from Kyoto Station, the hotel is surrounded by bus and subway stops — perfectly connected, yet calm in its own rhythm. The lounge and kitchen invite conversations with strangers who soon feel familiar. The bed is comfortable, with a locker beneath that can be locked for peace of mind. One night, someone kept switching off the air conditioner, and sleep came uneasy.

The hostel was located in a quiet but easily accessible via train neighborhood. I liked that it was in good proximity to several city bus stops and train line. The place was clean, and you get a feel of living in a Japanese house by first taking off your shoes. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially to the ma'am and sir who helped us check-in during our stay when we arrived just before 9pm. The facilities were nice, especially the lounge area on the 2nd floor of the main building. I was also very impressed by the full kitchen, complete with 3 inductions stoves and 2 refrigerators. Really convenient for travelers looking to lessen expenses by cooking their own meals. Overall, a great hostel!

The smoking area was located in the walkway between the 2 buildings. It's also situated just outside the window to the toilet and baths, and the smell of the smoke sometimes wafts in. For a non-smoker, the smell is quite disturbing when you just want to pass by without inhaling cigarette smoke. Maybe opt to place the smoking area somewhere else with less foot traffic and better ventilation.

Wifi was good, I could play Mobile legends smoothly. Theres a level 2 common area where people can hangout and make friends, play boardgames, chill and relax. theres 1 free computer with internet too. theres a kitchen where u can use utensils and keep your food/drinks in the fridge(remember to tag your name labels provided on your items). U can ask the receptionists for any help, they are friendly and speak good english too. U can rent bicycle for 1000yen per day. the nearest train station is about 5-10mins walk.

the noise from other travellers since i stayed in a mixed dorm. but i can just wear my earbuds to cancel the noise out lol.

Well located, really kind staff who helped me forward my luggage to Tokyo, good sized communal area and kitchen with free tea, coffee and filtered water. Nice big locker under the bed and a comfy mattress. Clean toilets and shower, with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. I think it's also really helpful that they allow you to use the common area and showers after checkout.

Having to make up your own bed on arrival is a strange concept for me. If you've paid to stay somewhere you expect it to be ready for you. But I had something similar in Osaka (but not Nara or Tokyo). No curtains round the bed. Minor criticisms for a great hostel.

Great experience for first time experience in a hostel for an eighty year old solo traveler, comfortable bunk in four bed female room, exceptional friendly staff and the common room and kitchen are so functional and so clean as were bathroom facilities, which are used by both male and females, everyone l met respectful and responsible. Great looking location, close to Gion district and many interesting sites. Local transport and convenience stores everywhere. Highly recommended.

You can't pick your roomates!! So earplugs and sleeping pill helps some of us😂

This accommodation was spotless throughout. I absolutely loved the spacious lounge—it was perfect for hanging out and chatting with other guests. The kitchen was impeccably clean and fully equipped. Free coffee and tea were a nice touch. The room size was just right for four people.

the toilets and showers were shared between men and women, which wasn’t comfortable at all. My mattress also sagged badly in the middle, leaving me with back pain. I did report it to the front desk, and they made some improvements afterward—though it still wasn’t fully resolved.
