The location of the hotel was perfect for us to reach everything by foot, rail, or subway. The staff were friendly and helpful. The little lounge area was perfect for breakfast if you didn't want to eat in your room. They had hot and cold drinks available most of the day and a water/ice dispenser that was great for filling our water bottles each morning. The room was a good size per Japanese standards, and we had plenty of room for us and our luggage. The beds were super comfy, the lighting was good, and the bathroom shower was excellent. There is a 7/11 right across the street, so breakfast items were super handy.

The only things I can fault them for are that the cleaner hasn't vacuumed the edges of the rooms or under the beds, and they have a smoking cubicle right beside the elevators, and it stunk. If you are a Non-smoking venue, why do you have a smoking room inside your hotel??

Location was great for us - right next to the Kamo river, Keihan line and Kyoto station. Free drink bar throughout the day was amazing. 7/11 right across the street was very convenient. Perfect room cleanliness but that’s to be expected at good properties in Japan. All these paired with a VERY good value in January made our stay exceptional.

It was quite dry in the room sometimes, but we borrowed a humidifier from the reception for free and it solved the issue. The shower upper holder in our room was quite inconveniently placed very close to the corner of the bath, so while using it the water was coming across the bath diagonally and sometimes getting through the curtain and on the floor. Not a big issue and may not be present in all rooms but maybe it would be a good idea to align the shower holder along the middle of the bath.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wander Kyoto and highly recommend staying here! The location is very conveniently located close to the local subway line and within a 15 minute walk to Kyoto Station. Super easy to explore Kyoto. A lot of great local restaurants nearby. The staff was extremely welcoming. The room while small like everywhere in Japan was extremely comfortable and we rested really well after long days of exploring Kyoto. Finally having water refill in the lobby was an excellent touch and we also appreciated the use of umbrellas during our stay! We definitely recommend booking here.

Fantastic location with super ice cold rooms after a hot day of walking around. For vegetarians, there is a cute cafe and an incredible ramen place right next door before you get to the river. The hotel also has a great drink offering that is free to start your morning or end your day.

Washing services were great but a hotel guest took our wash out after we were a minute late. The hotel staff was fantastic and gave us our wash right away but it’s just something small to watch out for

The hotel was very comfortable and well-designed, with everything you need for a pleasant stay. The air conditioning worked perfectly, which was a huge plus in the summer heat. I also really appreciated the lounge/hall area, it’s a great space to relax, enjoy the variety of drinks available, and even bring meals from convenience stores or takeaways. The location is also good: Kyoto Station is about a 15-minute walk, and the famous geisha district (Gion) is about a 25-minute walk away.

The only downside is that there are only two washing machines. In the evenings, people often line up and even stand next to the machines waiting for their turn. Luckily, there are self-service laundromats just a few meters away from the hotel, so it’s not a big problem.

Excellent value for money! The facilities are modern, very comfortable, and impressively quiet—perfect for a restful stay. The reception offers handy complimentary items like toothbrushes and extra towels, which are replaced daily. The room includes a kettle and a mini fridge, making it easy to prepare a snack or enjoy a warm drink. Every day, two bottles of water are provided free of charge. In the lounge area, guests have access to water and juice dispensers, as well as a microwave, which was incredibly convenient.

One drawback was that there was only a power outlet beside one of the beds, which made it inconvenient for the person sleeping on the other side to comfortably charge their phone while lying down.

Clean, comfortable bedding, friendly and very helpful staff, lots of great amenities, hot showers, quiet at night, comfortable PJs. Had a 7-11 opposite the accommodation, short walk to bus stops and train station. Laundry room (coin machines) downstairs was convenient but also high in demand. Luckily, there's also a 24hr laundromat across the street.

Nothing was too bad. Lack of space because 3 beds were squeezed into one small room, being unable to move the shower head in certain directions (which meant being blasted straight in the face or making do with a slow trickle of water), bathroom was always humid because the fan wasn't that great, had to request the staff to clean the toilet 'wand' more thoroughly, difficult to use the touch pad to control the AC. Little inconveniences only.

Spacious room and bathroom considering normal room size in Japan. Beds super comfy with great pillows. Plenty of towels provided and complimentary non-alcholic drinks in the lounge area as well as restocked water bottles everyday in the room. Staff were welcoming and very helpful. Aircon in the room was not centrally controlled and was able to be self adjusted which was great. Good lounge area on ground floor with seating and drinks/microwave. Close to train station. Quiet area. Across the road from a 7-11 and a good laundromat.

It was quite clean however there was a used slipper let in the room and some dusty surfaces, otherwise okay. It's not as centrally located as I had hoped but it is close to a train station (2 min walk) and I didn't know which areas were central before I booked.

The hotel's location was perfect, especially if you visit the surrounding areas for day-trips. The Keihan line that goes to Kyoto city center, Fushimi Inari, and Osaka is close to the hotel. If you want to go to the Arashiyama area, Nara, Kansai airport, or Tokyo, it is a 10-15 minute walk from the central Kyoto station. If you want to walk to the city center, it takes about half an hour. You can also get there by bus using the many bus lines. There is an area in the lobby where you can drink tea and coffee and eat. There is a 7-Eleven right across from the hotel. The rooms are considered spacious by Japanese standards.

The room was cleaned every three days, but I think that was not enough cleaning. At least the towels were changed every day, and the garbage was taken out. There were two washing machines, and I never had an empty time.

The design of the whole hotel is very modern and new. The rooms were a nice size with a good size bathroom (for Japan standards of course). The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming and the facilities were amazing, even providing cute pyjamas and anything else you could think of!! Location is amazing too with bus stops and train station nearby, lots of good food and the Kyoto main station within walking distance. Would absolutely stay here again if visiting Kyoto and will recommend to everyone!!

The laundry service was a bit expensive, 800yen for a 3kg load and always in use hahah. Didn’t really dry our clothes very well either, probably because of the full load
