I stayed here with my family (family of 5). The room itself is modern and offered a nice view of the city. We had two queen beds and one pull out bed. Spacious room and bathroom, which had its own washing machine. The bathroom itself has a " drying" option and the instructions in the manual were pretty straightforward. No keys were needed as we were given a code to enter the hotel and also our room. That was very convenient. There is a supermarket right in front of the hotel which was really convenient. The hotel has no staff, they won't clean your room during your stay ( we were there for 6 nights) so we had to take the trash out ourselves. The large trash cans were right outside the hotel so it wasn't an issue. There is no concierge at the hotel itself but there is a telephone there to the main office, their staff have good english skills and they were able to answer our questions perfectly.

The hotel itself is a bit further out from the city center (30 mins to kawaramachi by bus, or 1 hour walk). The check in process is also a bit unusual... we had to go to their head office near Kyoto station to check-in, and that's where we received the code for the hotel itself and our room. They do offer a shuttle service so that was convenient since we all had quite big bags. Just be mindful that if you arrive after 8pm you need to inform the hotel since their check in office might be closed and you will not be able to check in!!!

- The staff at the Central reception counter at Kyoto station was very friendly and helpful. - Excellent rooms, very spacious, the extra space is super useful for families with children and senior citizens. - The rooms had all the amenities one needs for a comfortable stay including washers, kitchen stuff, bathroom accessories, and more. We did not feel the need to ask for anything more than whatever was provided. - The location was very good. There was a bus stop right outside the property which provided access to the city bus which took us to all the major shopping areas and tourist attractions - There is a super market right opposite as well as 7-11 and McDonalds. This was very convenient. - For Indian families travelling to this property, an added advantage is the India restaurant "Chinari" right outside the property. This was convenient to get Indian food whenever we wanted to take a break from Japanese food. - We absolutely loved the facility and will highly recommend this to anyone travelling with family.

Nothing major to say here.

The apartment was really nice.. very modern, etc. The check-in process seemed a hassle at first but turned out to be smooth, as they also provide shuttle service from train station to the hotel location.. the place itself was kinda residential but still a lot of eateries and cheap shopping around.

The hotel is not close to any main attractions.. so get ready for a good walk or take a cab or Uber.. Also, the WC area of the bathroom was smelly.. we tried everything possible to make it smell good with lots of fragrances during our 4 nights stay, but the smell won't go away.. maybe something the management should check..

The apartment is very spacious, with complete equipment for cooking and also in the bathroom you can find everything you need. The location is good, even if very far from Kyoto station, but bus service is quite diffused and the bus stop is just outside the door. Reception staff was very kind with us, providing also free shuttle and luggage storage and a lot of useful information. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby.

The only thing is the fitted carpet on the floor (moquette): it gives a bad smell to the room, it is stainy and overall it gives an idea of low hygiene of the room. I suggest to replace it with hard floor, in the future.

The kids loved the bunk bed! The room was comfortable with lots of space for a family of 5. There's a supermarket directly across the road and very easy access to the bus network. The hosts provide information sheets with maps, food recommendations and transport options. Check-in was easy, near Kyoto Station and we were transported to the property in a courtesy van. After check-out you are responsible for getting yourself to where you want to go. Be aware that the buses are very busy from early morning which can be challenging with large luggage.

The accommodation is approx 30 minutes by bus from Kyoto Station and it is a fair distance from all of the sights. It's not a problem with the extensive bus network, just factor that into your plan.

Everything was great. The reception for the check-in is located somewhere else, but this wasn’t a problem at all. We have arrived to Kyoto from Tokyo and the check-in reception is located at a 5 min walk from Kyoto station. The check-in is at 3 pm, but we have arrived earlier and had the possibility to leave our luggage at the check-in reception which was great. They also offer you a free shuttle bus from the check-in reception to the hotel. The room was big, comfortable and very well equipped. The bus station is located right in front of the hotel which was very convenient. After we checked out, we had the possibility to leave our luggage at the check-in reception until we took the train to Osaka which we appreciated.

Property is very clean. Bus stop is just outside the building so connecting to train stations was very easy. The staff waited till we arrived to do the check in process although we were late.

We reached Kyoto very late and were stressed out by the fact that we had to collect the keys at a different location by 8 pm. We were new to Japan so finding the place was difficult. Signage can be improved. Most people would come from the direction of Kyoto station, so having signage on the building facing this direction would help. Also in case of late arrival, there should be an online check in process as well.

The hotel doesn’t have an on-site reception, which ends up being a bit inconvenient. When you arrive, you have to go to a building near the station to check in and get the access codes for the hotel. It’s not very easy to find the building/floor where check-in takes place, especially because Kyoto Station is very large, and in our case, we didn’t know the city and ended up exiting on the wrong side of the station. There is a free shuttle to the hotel. The hotel is a bit outside the city center, but it’s close to supermarkets and restaurants. Even though it’s not central, getting to the center is easy. We used the luggage delivery service from 7-Eleven and sent our bags directly to the hotel because we didn’t realize there was no staff at the hotel itself (only at the reception near the station). When we found this out at reception, they told us it wouldn’t be a problem because the delivery service would leave the luggage in a storage room at the hotel. That’s what ended up happening, but I think I was lucky — I was entering the building just as the delivery person arrived… and to be honest, he seemed lost.

No one from the hotel there. Only at the reception near the station.

Very comfy apartment. Spacious bathroom with washing machine, super clean, good beds, very nice room, the kids loved it. They offer enough detergent for the washing machine, some coffee stickers to try (with milk or matcha), konbini is down the street 2 min and the bus just in front of the door. Everything was definitely really nice. We forgot a bag in the free shuttle that brought us in ; we were ready to go back to the office to get it back, but the driver brought it us at the door 2h later. The reception understand English quite well and is very helpful. Lively neighborhood with lots of foreigners-friendly food shops.

Everything was nice.

The RESI STAY Nishijin property was the perfect spot for my wife and myself! The property is located in a more quiet area of Kyoto but very easy to get around the city by public transportation; there is a bus station literally next to the building. The rooms were spacious by any standards but especially for the typical room in Japan. The check-in process is different; you go to a central office across from the main Kyoto train station and receive the check in instructions. After checking-in you are then provided with a free private shuttle to the property. The staff in the main office spoke excellent English and could not be more friendly and welcoming! They were very cheerful and fantastic ambassadors for the RESI Stay properties as well as for Kyoto. They made the check in process very quick and smooth. We would definitely stay at the RESI STAY properties in the future!
